I don't get the people that are complaining about the requirements to play the DLC, like if you haven't bothered to play the base game then why do you care about the DLC at all?
Most people played and beat the base game multiple times via NG+ to make sure they had the proper levels to play this. I imagine I’d be a bit irritated too if I did all that, started a whole other NG+, and got told I still gotta make it to pretty much the end of the game yet again to play it 😂. Since Elden Ring is A LOT of people’s introduction to FromSoft, many likely thought there’d be an NPC at the main hub or an option on the main menu to start the DLC.
@@6ixlxrd Yeah, NO. If this is "A LOT of people’s introduction to FromSoft" then that is their problem since the Soulsborne games starting with the original Demon Souls have been going since 2009. I've played, completed and got all the Achievements (Trophies for Bloodborne) for everything besides the original and remake of Demon Souls, and if I remember correctly every DLC had requirements that meant to need to be pretty heavily along in the story to access it. I beat Elden ring a couple months after launch. Haven't played since, because I'm not one to have to play it over and over. I bought the dlc this morning, but I plan to start fresh as a melee build. Last time around I went with paladin. Elden Ring was my very first souls game. So, I didn't have a full grasp on souls. Now 2 years later, having beat every fromsoft besides DS2. And playing/beating multiple souls-likes. I am going back in with a better understanding of how these games work. Last time I just op'd my character to best the bosses. There's like 5 dragon fights in the dlc. 1 a proper boss. 2 are new dragon types and the other 2 are ones we fought in the base game. What are you smoking?
I mean what do you expect, its an expansion of a game, not a new one despite it feeling like one lol. But to each their own, glad you’re enjoying it overall 💪
All Fromsoft DLCs over the years have been bangers. I have no doubt this will be mind blowing so I already preordered❤😁 thanks for this anyway Gameranx👌
I’m glad you did this one instead of Jake, Falcon. I love everything Jake does, as well as you! But I also know you’re more invested in souls-like so this was the right host choice. Thanks for that! Well done at the production meeting behind the scenes!
Did you also find all the "hidden" ones, they are normal enemies that turn into mini bosses and drop one once defeated. I suspect there might be a few of those in the dlc, they aren't one to forget someone might need to respec for the new weapon types and having used all the ones from the base game.
It would be great if they checked off dungeons you’ve fully searched similar to how the RE remakes make the room blue when you’re done. I started manually tagging fast travel points but then would forget and it just wasn’t great. Looking forward to playing the DLC.
I like how we can ride past enemies. Half the time i'm trying to get some ringed finger, to give to some person to get some other random item to be able to defeat some boss to get this weapon I want. If I had to stop and fight everyone on the path, that would be brutal
if fromsoftware made yall fight every creature, yall would still praise them and say it isn't hard and people need to get good bc the way some people are praising this dlc and saying it isn't as hard as others are saying is giving the same kind of energy. this dlc is brutal and halfway not even fun. PERIOD but you'll praise it. Like you would if you had to battle everything. wait for it. that game will come.
Great video! A lot was covered. Thanks! What I am wondering is what major bosses near the end of the first Elden have to be defeated to move on in this expansion?
To start the Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC, you must defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord Of Blood. Once you've defeated these two bosses, go to the throne at Mohgwyn's Palace.
@@johnnyboy2411I just hate restarting from scratch. Having to get the bell bearings is already a hassle but having to get every weapon, armor, and spell again is annoying imo.
Just want to point out that you absolutely do NOT have to get 2/3rds of the way through elden ring to access the dlc. The only requirements to enter the dlc are that youve beaten mogh and radhan, and both of those bosses can be reached basically as early as you want. Radhan can be the first or at most, second main boss you fight if you want. And mogh, you can bee line right to him as soon as you beat godrick if you want to. It also doesnt matter when in your playthrough you go to the dlc. With the shadowtree blessings and the crazy amount of runes you get just from playing, you can level up faster in the dlc than in the main game. If you're still on the fence about getting this dlc, please dont think the requirements to access it are somehow super difficult to reach
I never preorder and the first day it was available in the PSN store I immediately got the premium/luxury edition without hesitation. My first (and probably only) preorder ever!
Off topic but ive been watching your content ever since i was a kid. I loved having a gaming community that talked about late night gaming topics and top 10 things gamers hate and all that. Felt so excited watching all those, love it.
Looking forward to parry many enemies in the DLC (getting know their attacks and appreciate their creation). My assumption is Messmer, like Radagon, can be beaten in close combat with some parries too. It's really fun and fully implemented Tarnished 101.
Yooo guys, amazing video first of all thank you Falcon. Quick question, i just beat the base game and soon I'll get the dlc, sooo Should i start with a new character or go straight from new game plus?
Dang, a Fromsoft DLC is 30-50+ hours long of high quality content for $40. Meanwhile, Hellblade 2 is only 5 hours long for $50 which is mostly watching cutscenes and the little gameplay that it has consists of walking forward in high fidelity and basic self-solving puzzles while people screaming useless information in your ears non-stop smh
Bloodhound Gang reference is so good. Proves that while he may be a Falcon, he's nothing but a mammal and Gameranx is the modern day Discovery Channel.
Excuse me Falcon but when listing off all the perks of the new bosses, you forgot to mention if we get "bullcrap camera angles in small enclosed rooms".. this is vital information.
I think the DLC levelling system is great as it encourages you to spend time around the DLC map to improve, isolating your normal stats which else would've already well sufficed as it's content is after the end game. I used to play on xbox and got to around lv 300 ng 7+ and I didn't want to start again upon the introduction of DLC for a challenging experience, for this levelling system creates regardless. This is especially useful as I switched to PC and imported a max v1.11 game save (as I've already experienced the near entirity of the base) and won't have the drawback of being too OP for DLC while being able to access it without having to restart the experience
So I just beat it. I loved it but I get why people are complaining about its difficulty. It is hard and you can’t grind or farm if you’re stuck leveling up depends on finding scadutree fragments which is very different for a souls game. I’ve played every souls game and can say without a doubt that the last boss is the hardest boss FromSoftware has ever made us face. He makes Melania seem easy. I didn’t start to have difficulty until after Messmer but this DLC makes Sekiro seem easy. But it does wrap up the Elden Ring story and all of the lore is finally explained. I personally love the lore of all the souls games, they make most games seem like a children’s story so I struggled for a day with the final boss and finally concluded the Elden Ring story and it’s lore.
At first, I absolutely loathed the new system. Hours of malicious planning and effort to get the perfect 150 build going and made me feel like a chump. Now... I had to bring myself to 200 to have what I consider a flushed out build, and good God has this beast of a dlc fine tuned me into an unstoppable killing machine. Things are still difficult and require focus but my reaction time, pattern recognition, and weapon memory have been nuts. Getting invaded even alone has become a reason for excitement rather than a mournful groan because even when I lose I can always see the moment I messed up and work on fixing it. I can't express enough that you NEED to get your scadu upgrade to at least 4 or 5 before you start tackling the real threats or large groups. Good luck out there Tarnished!
Elden Ring 1.5. That's exactly what I was expecting. Hidetaka really thought we would believe it was only a little bigger than Limgrave lol. I knew this thing would be huge. I'm exploring everything and I was expecting to get around 50 hours of content for that playstyle, so honestly, all my expectations are already met. I already know the bosses are gonna be cool and unique and that there's gonna be a lot of gorgeous views. The base game was perfect to me so I would not have a clue how they could improve upon it, yet I somehow believe they did. Guess we'll just have to wait and see, but my body is ready. That much I know
Take the right path by stormveil castle, go passed boiled prawn shack, head to rose church, talk to the old lady in Roundtable hold, rose church again, npc with mask, agree with him, invade 3 times, maiden cloth given, go to the four belfries and choose the one that leads to chapel of anticipation, soak maiden cloth in blood, go back and talk twice to get champion badge, go directly to mohgs palace, you can be level 20 and do this but it'll be hard

There's like 5 dragon fights in the dlc. 1 a proper boss. 2 are new dragon types and the other 2 are ones we fought in the base game. What are you smoking?
@@Jasonrak123there are 3 dragon fights that are reused from the base game and 3 new dragons, all of which are identical
Falcon with the Bad Touch reference was not on my bingo card for the Elden ring dlc 😂
Apparently doing white mask varre's questline gives you an item that teleports you to mohgwyn Palace, hope this helps
Can confirm this just completed this and defeated mohg on new game+ straight after godrick the grafted
This is true. You can get there just after Godrick
You probably shouldnt do that though. Youll be stupidly underleveled

1:03 This looks so much like Sekiro. I’m not the only one noticed this, yeah? I got massive Sekiro vibes just seeing the landscape😂😂
It is like Sekiro, especially the leveling up, just harder
If anything you should try find the dragon communion seal makes the fang op with blood flame
This DLC is bigger than most games and could have pretty much been a sequel. I can't wait!
👍
Falcon probably went home and grinned like the Grinch that stole Christmas while watching lore youtubers.
From has such goodwill it's the only company I'd preorder. 15 years of BANGERS
I’m glad you did this one instead of Jake, Falcon. I love everything Jake does, as well as you! But I also know you’re more invested in souls-like so this was the right host choice. Thanks for that! Well done at the production meeting behind the scenes!
that bloodhound gang reference was awesome lol
Love Falcon The Hero, not to take anything away from Jake B., but Falcons Narration is second to none.
Agreed 💯
Anyone know if there will be more larval tears? Used all mine up😅
Did you also find all the "hidden" ones, they are normal enemies that turn into mini bosses and drop one once defeated.
I suspect there might be a few of those in the dlc, they aren't one to forget someone might need to respec for the new weapon types and having used all the ones from the base game.
yes, I saw it in Fextralife review.
I haven't used any I can drop you all of mine
yes, there will be a few
I have found 2 larval tears in the DLC. Though I never used any. Bet there's more tho.
Already bought it.🙂
Can I NG+ cycle on the base game only if I have the dlc version of the game? Or I need to finish the whole base game + dlc to have a new game cycle?
FromSoft didn't balance the dlc for any ng+ characters man. So don't do ng+. Kinda bs ng+ dlc is broken when the dlc was this expensive. Has me upset.
you just need to complete the base game to ng+ you dont have to do the dlc
It would be great if they checked off dungeons you’ve fully searched similar to how the RE remakes make the room blue when you’re done.
I started manually tagging fast travel points but then would forget and it just wasn’t great.
Looking forward to playing the DLC.
They did. Once searched it dims the icons you have completed.
I'd buy it but I still have a lot to do in the original game. Never finished it
Pre-ordered the day the trailer came out
Those mount jumps tho 😂😂
The only thing I pre-ordered this year. Just watching because Gameranx!
100 hours for base game? I did 300 before I beat it. I expect 120 hours from the DLC, I'm savoring every detail
@@InnerRise it's supposed to be difficult. This is not Mario. Level up and come back, simple as that
@@voteforfire
Don't believe I said it wasn't. Simple as That.
Already preordered it on the day it was released on stream.
Already pre-order obviously,
love From software games!!
@@gameranxTV Thanks a bunch! Appreciated.
As many here i already bought it, now the waiting game...a familiar pain😩
5:44 I NEEEDDDD ITTTT
Do the enemies scale with your NG+?
probably, thats how it works with these games
They do. Starting the dlc in NG+ is NOT recommended.
Given how previous games work, yes
@@TheHunterOfYharnamthanks
Cool.
We don’t need advice for this. I’m gonna buy it no matter what
Off topic but ive been watching your content ever since i was a kid. I loved having a gaming community that talked about late night gaming topics and top 10 things gamers hate and all that. Felt so excited watching all those, love it.
Shout-out to the Bad Touch reference😂
Looking forward to parry many enemies in the DLC (getting know their attacks and appreciate their creation). My assumption is Messmer, like Radagon, can be beaten in close combat with some parries too. It's really fun and fully implemented Tarnished 101.
Beat the base game three nights ago and I'm still finding huge new areas of the map
It's finally here🛡️⚔️
…….0:22 was I the only one who heard “clown trilogy”?
Nah i heard that too and now i cant figure out what he was actually talking about
Already bought it
Yooo guys, amazing video first of all thank you Falcon.
Quick question, i just beat the base game and soon I'll get the dlc, sooo
Should i start with a new character or go straight from new game plus?
Do I buy this DLC with base game for my first playthrough?!
You can if you want but even if you dont the regular base game can keep you busy for a while at least until you want to buy the dlc
Love that Bloodhound Gang is in your device's autocorrect 😂
Dang, a Fromsoft DLC is 30-50+ hours long of high quality content for $40. Meanwhile, Hellblade 2 is only 5 hours long for $50 which is mostly watching cutscenes and the little gameplay that it has consists of walking forward in high fidelity and basic self-solving puzzles while people screaming useless information in your ears non-stop smh
0:24 The clown dlc was my personal favorite in fromsoftware’s catalog dlc
definitely one of the worst but still a good dlc ngl
What game was that for? I've never heard of it.
Falcon said clown on the video at the beginning but he misspoke. He meant to say Crown Dlc from dark souls 2@@anonisnoone6125

Honestly I just love it when collectibles grant passive boosts rather than just sitting in your inventory.
If we don't get that in the dlc then its not faithful to the souls material.
This is the most hyped I've been for a dlc since the old hunters way back when! Lets go!!!!
For those on ng+ etc. Varres questline gets you to mohg pretty quickly
Well i already bought it day 1, guess no harm watching this video tho
That much I know
All the reviewers say the map itself appears to be about that size, but they all say it ended up being functionally bigger than it looks.
@@mikemcmullen5006 Hmm, alright then. As long as it feels huge and has different "biomes" with gorgeous views, it's all good
I beat ER and never started NG+ and shelved it so I could pick right back up when the DLC dropped. Was an excellent decision.
Hey Gameranx.
