What If Rolf Kills Shinon? [TOP 10 ANIME BETRAYALS PART 5]

- One of the most tragic parts of the Tellius Emblem games is the conversation between Rolf and Shinon as they realize they are on opposing armies. Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn really hit it home by having comrades fight against each other like this, more than any other game in the entire series.
A sad reality of war is that mercenaries work for the highest bidder, and this can often mean going up against your best friend, your mentor, and so on. This reality hits Rolf as he is forced to face his own mentor in a duel to the death, complete with a Talk command, a dialog before the battle, and even one after the finishing blow is dealt.
Of course, this is a WatchMojo style top 10 Anime Betrayals What If video, so I had to make a silly name weapon break. And that is exactly what happens here. Ha!
You can blame Zari for the weapon name on this one.

Lol it's like Soren and Ike are bullying Rolf to go kill his master.
Hendricks lmao
To become a true Sith Lord, the apprentice must kill his master.
The only thing he was afraid of was dying which, of course, eventually he did. He taught his apprentice everything he knew and was killed on the battlefield.
Harry Hume this is so similar to z- the black knight and greil
@@bruabbatrash8917 well the black knight is medieval darth vadar.
@Dax Kameron Definitely, I have been using instaflixxer for years myself :)
@Dax Kameron yea, I have been using InstaFlixxer for since december myself :)
He was brave to kill his master. Now he got a brave bow for it
Audino dressed up as a blue wizard a brave bow for a brave boy.
Roses are red,
Betrayal is sour,
I'm surprised that within Rolf
There was such power.
+Douglas Dragon
Betrayal,
Fire Emblem's Specialty.
Douglas Dragon If you use Rolf the right way, he can be really useful in battle, I actually used him in the final chapter. Besides, he is part of the triangle attack with Oscar and Boyd
+EdDiMe17
Its an Archer Triangle Attack.
And yes, Rolf is good.
Rolf: Uncle Shinon NO! *Begins crying*
Shinon: Wipe those ... tears away ...
Rolf: But I-
Shinon: Here's my ... Brave ...
Rolf: Neat, thanks Uncle Shinon.
Ike: Don't worry Rolf, I'm here to save Shinon by stabbing him instead of *notices Shinon had died from blood loss* ... damn it ... if only I had stabbed him he would've never died.
5/10 didnt kill him with Rolf's Bow, the bow Shinon made for Rolf to train with making it all come full circle.
When I first watched this, I immediately noticed in the slew of vids below Watchmojo's 'Top Ten Soul Crushing Anime Deaths'.
The joke just wrote itself.
I didn’t even know this was thing because I never used Rolf but geez that’s sad
Nice weapon name...
It broke after killing him? That must've been the worst dump of his life, man.
Shinon and ike have a conversation later if you recruit him. Shinons implied to be drunk tho.
yeah lmao, he even throws up
Now now Rolf you may have killed your beloved uncle Shinon but you got a brave bow so it kind evens things out.
*Radiate Dawn* Shinon is reincarnated has a *god* it all makes since now...
Yeah I did this on my first play through, I had no idea how to recruit him (still don’t) and went “huh, wonder what happens if I-“
Have you considered making a video of all the boss conversations in Path of Radiance, there were a lot of good ones.
Way too many to cover lol
You could always split it into parts?@@CollectorTogami
Im i the only one who wants shinon to be in Feh?
ERP I want him, Boyd, and Rolf.
There's alot of Tellius characters that are deserving of making it to heroes. Like Astrid, Calill, Jill, Haar, Tibarn, Ranulf, maybe even Lucia (who could become a powerful myrmidon in heroes compared to how the games treated her).
Echoes gets four banners. There's only been three Tellius banners, PoR and RD combined.
ERP I want him so badly. But really I want the rest of the Greil Mercenaries period, being Shinon, Gatrie, Rolf, Boyd, and Rhys.
ye becuz feh sux
Jeez Rolf, he is savage
The Tellius games did battle conversations better than any game in the series. I wish Three Houses went a bit harder with them, but I guess they wanted to purposefully keep them brief since they were all fully voiced.
That said, it's kind of a guilty pleasure for me when stuff like this happens in FE games, where characters who were close end up adversaries on the battlefield. It didn't happen very often and in just about every case with a few exceptions, you were able to recruit those units (personally I didn't recruit Shinon, not because I didn't want to, but because I didn't train Rolf). In a lot of these cases it's fun just seeing what these characters say to each other before engaging.
The power of the son of a shepherd
I used Mist to kill Shinon, she has dialogue about it and can talk with Shinon before hand. Mist mentions Rolf in her dialogue.
I always killed Shinon with Astrid on my playthroughs, tho :)
Only 5 more are needed
Damn. That looked heartbreaking to watch.
Im currently playing through path of radiance right now and have rolf and marcia as supports. Rolf never tells where he learned how to loose an arrow. Also i think oscar knows but he doesnt say anything
Shinon died with a smile. True badass
"Rolf's *heart* broke" :"D
Part 6: Bantu kills Tiki
And Xane
+Paper Luigi
Ouch...
+Paper Luigi
Don't mess with the Future Waifu!
Hey. Togami killed Minerva and the Whitewings
+Paper Luigi
Dammit!
Minerva is a shit unit anyway.
So... Gordin must kill Jeorge
That's so sad.
You say "top 5 anime betrayals", I say "a fitting end for a cur like him, who abandons Ike in his time of need after his father died, to join his father's killers no less"
How does Shinon have a brave bow?!
Interesting... any dialogue changes in the story after that happens?
+Alex Trin
Nothing.
You just lost Shinon.
when i read interesting i said instinctively "maneuver"
@@bruabbatrash8917 "Will you draw your blade?"
@@alextrin683 "i trust you know who you face. zelgius, commander of this army. if you are not worthy of fighting me, then you are only................. *pause* wasting my time"
I’m Ranulf, right hand to Gallia’s future king. Will that suffice?
I'll be honest, it felt so good to kill shinon with Rolf, i even used shinon as deadeye fodder for rolf
*The Shit on broke!*
So you made a child kill his mentor for views... Pretty normal, actually. Nothing to complain about here.
Rolf got Shit on no more
Shinon reminds me of piccolo
Me too, that’s why it looks so good, think about Gohan defeating the evil Piccolo after growing up as his pupil
@@xxmega7433 Piccolo was trying to get Gohan to man up too
Rolf: Kirito
Shinon: Sachi
(How Characters die in SAO remind me of Fire Emblem deaths)
So.....Rolf is basically a much better Wolt?
Nah he sucks, but since bonus exp is a thing in the Tellius games any unit can be at least good. I guess he turns out better than Wolt if you train him tho
Wait what's A S?
Late, but it’s attack speed
Nice Shit on joke with the bow breaking after killing Shinon
I’m so confused. I haven’t played PoR but I played RD - and Shinon was in Radiant Dawn, fighting WITH Rolf. How did this play out?
The Kranando
Canonically, you recruit Shinon back into your army here and he survives the war to rejoin the Greil Mercenaries.
King Fail Ah, I see, thanks
Mariode You have to talk to him with Rolf and then kill him with Ike.
After Gawain/Greil Dies, Shinon leaves because he sees ike never being able to live up to his father. Gatrie also leaves by this same reason. Shinon then worked as a self mercenary to liveuntil this fateful chapter
I always killed him because I thought he was a prick. Would have done the same to Gatrie if given the opportunity.
Seriously, they couldn't even honor their Commander by talking to Ike before they left? Nope, his body is bareley cold and we're just gonna nope right out of here.
Fuck em both.
