    I ordered, downloaded, and printed out your chart the other day, and I'm SO so excited to color it in. I've made my own in the past, colored other pre-made charts, but I have to say, the moment I discovered yours, my jaw dropped. It looks even better than a recent pre-made hex style chart I bought and colored in, then eventually realized it was missing about 20+ colors that I then added into myself etc etc. Long story short, you did an amazing job putting this together, and I truly can't thank you enough!! Well worth the money for sure!!! Much love 💞

    Thank you for this chart, I am just getting to grips with markers. I have constructed my collection after buying the 216 set followed by the 104 set and then skin tones. So deciding on a colour using the individual swatch sheets is a bit tricky, so this sheet is a godsend, although my speed of filling it is a bit glacial. I must say if the Ohuhu numbering system is a little confusing their colour naming system is positively bizarre, when coupled with the pen tops that are an approximation to the actual colours at best, your swatch sheet is a great help.

      So glad my chart is helpful to you! I had the exact same issue with having so many individual swatch sheets. 🤣 Having all the colors on one page does make it so much easier to choose colors!

    I organize my color chart by the marker’s numbers (different brand), and it really works out, it’s much easier! Of course I also organize the way I put my markers so it matches the chart.
    You also don’t really need to think much about it, just count your markers, make your chart in a random piece of paper. It doesn’t have to be straight lines and stuff, as long as you’re comfortable with it!

    This is awesome, great video! When I print my coloring pages at home on the Neenah 110 card stock paper if I color over the black lines with my Ohuhu markers it smears. I am using an inkjet printer so I’m curious which laser printer do you use or would recommend. Thank you for your amazing and talented videos 🎉

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  9 месяцев назад +3

      Thanks so much for your kind words! 💖 I'm so happy you enjoy my videos! 🥰 The laser printer I use is a Brother HL-L2350DW. The inkjet printer I use is a Canon iX6800. They're both several years old, so I don't know if either company makes these exact models anymore. I don't use my laser printer as much because it curls thick paper (like card stock), due to the way the paper is fed through the printer. I would need to bend the card stock back into a flat shape or place it under heavy books, and sometimes it would still retain a slight curl. Other than that, I've had good results using both printers with Neenah Exact Index 110lb Bright White Card Stock. Hope this helps and good luck! 😃 Happy Art-Making! 🎨

    One little tip, probably obvious to anyone with a brain but I fell into the trap. I started filling in the sheet colouring the cells in in their entirety, which I thought would give a nice effect with the colours shading into each other as seen in the video. This worked fine for the lighter shades, however the numbers on the printed sheet were mostly unreadable, what I had failed to notice was that the numbers on the very dark shades are in white on the video rather than black. So back to square one (literally) colouring the cells but leaving the numbers visible.

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  6 месяцев назад +2

      I used a white Posca paint pen to write the numbers on top of the color swatch. You could also use a white gel pen. I kept forgetting to color around the color code when filling in the dark colors, which is why I ended up filling in all of the cells completely. 🤣 In the end, I did think it looked quite nice with all the solid blocks of color!

    • @keithscholes6158
      @keithscholes6158 6 месяцев назад

      @@thaneeya Yes that (the Posca pen solution) works too, kicking myself that i didn't think of it. 🙄 I could have saved myself a lot of reworking.

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  Месяц назад

      Sorry, I don't have a color chart for the 168 set. You could try making your own; it's a fun exercise! To answer your last question, my Ohuhu Honolulu color charts contain the color codes (and not the color names), because the codes are shorter, so they fit into the little boxes better. 😊

      I usually keep mine stored horizontally in marker trays on my desk, though I do have some marker cases that place the markers in a vertical upright position. What kind of paper would you suggest drawing a color chart up on?

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  6 месяцев назад

      It's best to draw your color chart on the same type of paper that you make art on, so that the colors will match, since the colors can look slightly different on different paper types. I really like X-Press It Blending Card and Strathmore Smooth Bristol Paper. Lately I've been using Ohuhu Bleedproof Marker Paper and it's also excellent. For many years I used card stock, which is cheaper than marker paper (the brand I used was Neenah Exact Index Bright White 110lb Card Stock). Hope this helps! 😃

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi there! 😃 Since custom color charts are so time-consuming to create, I don't have any plans to update this one any time soon. I know I make it look easy in the video, but it actually took several days and several rounds of revisions to organize the colors in a logical way, while also fitting the colors neatly on 2 pieces of paper. 🤣 Do you have a link to the new colors? I checked their website and socials but didn't see anything about it...

      @@thaneeya Hi Thaneeya! I tried linking the Amazon Japan link but the comment seems to have disappeared. Either way, Ohuhu released a Japan exclusive set with three different piece counts, the largest being 80 with around a dozen exclusive colors. Initially it was promoted with Sanrio characters (Hello Kitty, etc.) but is now sold under just Ohuhu branding.

    What’s the best way to print out the color chart? I’m scared that my printer’s ink might smudge. Any tips to avoid that happening?

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  10 месяцев назад

      I've used both a laser printer and an inkjet printer and I've never had any problems with the printer's ink smudging when printing on card stock, smooth Bristol paper or X-Press It Blending Card. The only time I experienced issues was when I printed onto Ohuhu marker paper (the paper in their sketchbooks). The printer ink didn't smudge per se, but did flake off in various places. Ultimately it depends on your printer and the type of paper you use, but for the most part, you should be able to print out the color chart and then fill it in with alcohol markers without the printer ink smudging. Hope this helps! 😃

      Let the ink dry for a few hours before coloring or use a heat tool or hair dryer to heat set it. Don't over do it or get too close to the paper with the heat or it will curl your paper.@@LaVonDesigns

    there are two Y121 just sayin

    • @thaneeya
      @thaneeya  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for pointing that out! I've updated the chart to remove the duplicate. 😃 The reason I initially included two Y121s was because I have two Y121s from two different Ohuhu Honolulu sets, and the colors are different (one is more of a light yellow, while the other is a really pale off-white). I included both in my original chart because I wasn't sure which one was "correct". I meant to investigate it further but forgot. 😁 After comparing my two Y121 swatches with the Ohuhu color swatch for Y121, I went with the light yellow swatch and deleted the other swatch. If you would like an updated blank color chart, send me an email from the email address you placed your order with, and I'll be more than happy to send you the updated chart! 😊🎨
