- Work on the 3rd Gen Tacoma resumes with a suspension lift in order to get a little height! I'll show you how to remove and install new suspension components on a 3rd gen Tacoma in which we'll be installing Icon RXT Leafpacks, Bilstein 5125 shocks, Wheelers U-Bolt Flip Kit, and Timbren Bumpstops.

18:00 isn’t it funny to see the roles change between father / son? Pops just sitting around seeing how he can help 😂 love it
Excellent job. Much better than most other videos I've watched.
There are 50 videos of this same exact process on RUclips and not 1 shows the before and after. Why not show your work?
Great video
Hi thanks for this. What is your final measurements without load in the bed? Thanks
Were the Bilstein 5125s long enough for down travel? Any issues with bottoming them out?
How do you like the RXTs? Can we run this without changing the shocks? I have the Factory TRD Lift kit which uses Bilsteins 5100.
I like them a lot - ride smooth and haven't sagged since install day. Out of the box netted me a 2-3/8" raise and I stored the add-a-leaf pieces for if I ever add weight or if they sag. You will need extended travel shock absorbers - OEMs won't work but the Bilstein 5100s should be ok but might want to verify their travel first.
i have OME rear shocks right now and im hoping to upgrade the leaf pack with Icon RXt and add Timbren bumpstop. do i need to use a different Ubolt for timbren since im adding a lift?
Awesome video! I’m installing the RXT leaf pack next week on my Tacoma.
Did you notice any driveline vibrations after lifting? I had a rough shudder at 25-28 mph with a 1” rear lift block.
Great question. I did notice from 60-65 and Deceleration from 30-25. I installed a 2.5 degree axle shim on each side and helped drastically. I'd recommend a 2.5 or 3 degree axle shim between the axle and leaf pack to correct the driveline angle. Make sure the fatter part points towards the back.
I think you need a carrier bearing drop as the driveline angle is too steep without it.
I’m installing the RXT also. Where did you get the axle shim from and did you need to extend the break lines.. Great video.
They’re made by Rubicon Express and are 2.5 degree shims. I did have to bore the center out a little more.
Can you do this without replacing the bump stops or is this mandatory?
Yes, you can leave the factory u-bolts and bumpstops on. I decided to do upgrades on those items while I was in there.
Don't think this guy truck ever seen dirt😅
