"death, taxes, and Pogacar winning uphill sprints" lmao
😂😂
xd
You know how it be ... :D
Gaudu looking really strong this year! Interested to see how he does in Le Tour.
Chances are, he'll flame out like every FDJ rider. The stars use this race to build while others use it to build their resume and actually taper for Paris Nice. I doubt he's top ten or even twenty at the TdF
@@veganpotterthevegan Gaudu was 4th in the TdF last year, but not top 10 or 20 this year?
@@schopenblvck705 know the history of modern French riders when they have a good result?😅
@@veganpotterthevegan Sure. But give Gaudu some credit.
@@schopenblvck705 he got credit for managing 4th last year
i love Gaudu up there. this year is so good already
Whenever I see Pog's hair sticking out of his helmet, I think he is just flexing on the rest of the peloton.
that's the source of his super power lol
He's winning these races as workouts, along with lousy bikes as Tom Boonen correctly stated🙃
It's an antenna...
Man Pogacar defending all attacks in the saddle..🤯
No doping this year 4 V.!
@@igrceplay6210 but yes dopping for pogi
@@adrianmolares6177 Lol
Vingegaard didn't really mess up on this stage. He is just not in the shape that Pog is. Simple as that.
If anyone messed up it is Gaudu pulling so much with Pog behind him. Why do that if he wants to go for the first place? Apparently he didn't consider it realistic to get first place.
he doesn't care abt the win. this was his proving ground for his team's full backing for tdf. it might seem funny but he's the only one there with something to prove. so now he can go and say to his team - look i just beat the reigning tdf champ, so please give me a solid squad i can work with.
@@sudsehun76 Yeah, that does make some sense. He would have proved even more if he had been riding more cleverly and let pog pull, and then had a better chance to win in the end. But I see what you mean.
@@alexanderishere1857 didn't u hear him on the pre race interview. they speak of pog like some cycling demigod. they're not under any false illussion of beating pog. they're just scavanging for leftovers :) ofcourse, i agree with u. i was mad with him too, i wanted them to work together as a team and make superman pog bleed. but that's too much of a gamble when u can settle for an easy second place. i'm not thinking of what he should've done but rather what he was thinking.
Because pour have yellow
Of course Gaudu try to drop him
@@sudsehun76 Yes, pog certainly looks close to unbeatable in the shape he is in and the shape the others are in. Vingegaard at least is not close to his TdF form. And it seems he needs that peak form to be even with Pog. Pog is the best in the world right now. But yes, I think Gaudu could have tried a bit more. Vingegaard probably could not because he just doesn't have it right now.
Lucky to watch cycling race in Pog's era.
Thanks so much for another wonderful video. Really appreciate everything you do on your channel.
Pog in flying form, riding Dura Ace cranks and his new aero hood position is definately gonna win him this years tour.
You were saying ??
Respect to Gaudu for racing like a true champ. On stage 5 he was the only one who dared to attack Pogacar and Vingegaard. Love to see riders like him and since he is already very strong this year Im looking forward to see him in the tour. Truly the new and maybe better Pinot!
super commentary! spot on every aspect.
Man pog really makes it looks easy- *dominator*
💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉💉
:(
That crash at 1:22 was on the edge of a bridge, someone literally could have died if that had gone just a bit different!
“Well I can just kill these guys in the sprint.” -😂 L.R. has leveled-up, full boss category +10
This commentator is always phrasing Pog and critical of Vingegaard.
Surprised that Jumbo were running the S5 on such a steep finish🤔
Refreshing to see Pog out of breath at the end of the stage. Many races he looks like "that was fun, anyone want to have another go!?" Jonas even with fully loaded support team will face an uphill battle (punny, I know) in the TDF against Pog. Roglic was pivotal last year in distracting him, but mano a mano, Tadej has been better than Roglic, and now Jonas. Jumbo's best option for TDF is may be to send Roglic AND Jonas back to the TDF.
He's won a bunch in the past month. He's basically just using this race as a workout before a taper. He's only looking tired because he's tired from racing to get faster later on vs racing tactically to win. He would have walked right through this race if he wanted to.
rogla is doing giro vuelta double this year. he's kinda washed up for tour. this way he can still be useful and win races.
@sud sehun I really don't think he's washed up at all. Pogo is just so good that the only thing that'll keep him from winning is trying to win by too much like last year. Without Pogo in the mix, he'd still be a contender. He's also always just has abhorrent bad luck at the tour.
@@veganpotterthevegan i didn't say he's washed up. he just won 3 stages in tirenno in a row. but his tdf days are over as vingego is better climber, if yumbo even slightly thought primo had an outside chance, they would've taken him to the tour but instead they chose to send him to the two lesser grand tours to maximise his returns. so he is washed up for tour as he can't keep up with all the young bloods arriving at the scene. he couldn't even beat debutante remco in vuelta... and made a mess of it in the end.
If he and Jonas were on different teams with similar domestiques, I don't see Jonas being much better other than the steepest roads but Roglic would still gain time in the TTs.
TP has natural great race tactics. He is not afraid to attack and takes it when it is presented to him.
"Death, taxes and Pog in an uphill sprint..." Classic. Thanks. Pog looking really good so far this year. Anything can happen in TdF. Having Wellens to take those long pulls may temper the ability of TJV to launch multiple attacks like last year.
The fact that Jumbo Visma has vingegaard and Roglic for TDF GC will be a serious problem for Pogi this summer.
Lets not forget that pogacar got played in 2022 TDF, he expected roglic to go for GC and chased him all day. When vingegaard attacked pogi he was flat out burnt.
This rivalry will make the 2023 season one of the most interresting in years
Except that Roglic does not the TDF this year 🤣
@@60nours you're right i saw that after posting my comment 😁
Looks like POG is playing with them
wow.... gaudu.... really strong
Absolutely love your analysis.
You clearly got a different definition of what ' wide open roads' constitute. The lower parts of Couilolle or however you write it are surely not wide open roads to me. A long long time ago, I can still remember, descending this side of this climb after a long climb up throug the backing hot Gorges de Cians at the end of July wit no water source in sight and I remember it not being an easy descent with a very bad road surface. But that is just grandpa reminiscing.
We need a Pog vs Rog on an uphill sprint desperately. Don't think its happening anytime this year
Pog always win.
We had one
I mean I kinda get Gaudu. He doesn't want the others back in the mix so one of him and Vingegaard has to pace. Meanwhile the other attacks from third wheel to possibly crack Pog. However Vingegaard simply wasn't able to do either part of the job so it just ended up with Gaudu being Pogs domestique
We need remco v pogi GC showdown ASAP but alas we must wait 😭
Seems to me like Vingegaard is mainly using Paris-Nice to learn what he can do to Pogacar, went all out attack a few days ago, that didn't work, today he just went full on diesel mode, the total opposite end of the scale, steady pace, didn't follow the attacks and steadily made his way back, also didn't really work, but he was closer.
Vingegaard is just not on Pog's level, yeah Jumbo won TDF but as a team
@@ssaini5028maybe he's not but he still gonna beat him in the tour de france thats the difference.. if you know and follow cycling pog is always super strong in this state of the year where jonas usally peak when the tour hits + when its tour de france it is a lot hotter and warmer wich also beneits jonas more than pogacar but pog is without doubt the best rider in the world but when its come to the 20% climbs hes not and we all know there a lot of those in the tour de france.
@@Igangdu Jumbo beat pogacar not jonas. What his teammates did on couple of stages was out of this world. Imagen pogacar with jumbo team from last year 😎
@@Flexo_l and so?? hes team is jumbo? pogs team is UAE its part of the game.. like any other sport, football, basketball its a team with a star in the team.. and no jumbo didnt beat pogacar jonas did i know you refer to all the attacks but pogacar tried to counter attack and so on and on and in the end jonas was nr.1 and pogacar nr.2 with almost 3minutes
@@Flexo_l Jonas was stronger than pog in last years tdf, it was quite obvious tbh
OK, so riders who try to test their opponents, but fail, they 'mess up'. When they don't try, they are boring, passive and lack courage. So unless you beat Pogacar, you mess up. That's a high bar, Lanterne Rouge.
This tittle is just for clickbaiting purpose
Thanks for the upload. TJV should have forced UAE to catch the breakaway group but instead they dragged Pog up the mountain. Knuckleheads. Jonas is not as climbing fit as Pog so its madness to let him rest in your draft.
good point about gaudu going for 2nd because they thought he cant fight for 1st
I wonder how high that bridge was where the crash happened. That could have went really badly.
Jonas is clearly not in peak shape, but I will say I reckon this year's tour will greatly come to down to the weather, if it is as hot as last year, my money is on Jonas. If we get a few really cold and rainy days in the mountains I'm all in on pog
Jesus, thank goodness nobody went over the side of that bridge during that crash, that could have been really nasty..
Was thinking the same thing.. should have nets for the race.
@@TheSafedghoda That's a very good idea
Had to check my playback speed on this one ... words flying fast!
What is a domestique thingy?
It's hard to say who will win TdF GC because Vingeraard is not on top shape right now it was the same last year with tirreno
Last years TdF Vingergaard won coz of the team. Wout was a beast and pogacar had almost no help from the team. This year pogacar has better team I think and he is even stronger but there is still a lot of time and anything can happen.
@@Flexo_l Jonas was in top shape in last years tdf, he didn't just win because of his team🙄
@@poulandersen6163 kekw
And who knows if Pogi is 100% fit...he may only be 80%.
@@Flexo_l crap! Jonas is better on longer climbes.
Pog sat up, no need to work too hard, just take them in the sprint
Poga dominated this race
Vingegaard is fighting but not enough.
Gaudu is doing well.
Ineos is a JOKE adopting Movistar tactics without a Real GC. 😂😂😂
Vistas this early season. Vindee did epic job get back last 1k then POD shows who’s boss. Tough sport. Class stage
I think Poga had no good legs today otherwise he would go solo from 5.8km to go as he always does. There is still a chance for Gaudu and Vingegaard on that last steep climb with 40km to go on today's stage! Alleezz! :)
No, he just racing smarter - he knew he can beat them on one leg in the sprint, so no need to waste his energy.
Gaudu has zero tactical sense today. Vingegaards riding today is reminding me of Rasmussen v Contador. The latter kept hitting the accelerations, while the former just reeled him in again and again
Lol learn cycling please
Vingegaard should let FDJ pulling once Foss finished his job, conserve energy & wait for the right moment to counter attack Pogacar.
Lance is back
Pog learned something from last year and that may nip Jonas at the big dance this year.
Come again !??
I thing Vingegaard should have attacked and gone clear of Pog early, not letting it just come down to a sprint.
He knew that Pog is just the best rider at the moment. He will be hard to beat the rest of this season.
@@JJ_Photo
Apparantly not in the tour de France 🤷♂️
wtf is that sidewalk at 2:19 lol
seems safe, seems legit, especially with the corpse of a bicycle hanging from it
Never hit the front before Pog, Never 😅 and why is Vingegaard on the s5 on a stage like this 🤨
Death, taxes and Pog lol 🤣
Terbaik lah Poggy, asyik asyik dia. Macam training je
Pogacar would have been destroyed Armstrong and Contador in their prime if they were all racing today. Look how Pog accelerate in climbs.
Dope
Also Waut would destroy them. And Jonas either. And MVDP. Not to mention Remco.
Remco is for me most surprising.
Anyway, it is hard to compare riders 20-30 years ago and today.
But if we look diferences, today are much smaller. Armstrong attacked usually 40km before finish and went alone to the finish.
beautiful course. looks dry there.
Gaudu is realistic :)
Imagine Pierre LaTour winning Le Tour
Yeah. Imagine
The rest of the peloton should let him win this year just because it would be funny. But sadly they never will, because they have no sense humor.
@@Rexve Hahahaaa😅🤣😂😆
Pogacar is going to win everything this year, except the Tour.
Depends how much JV can pump into the fisherman during "training" ;)
@@alyjam what about last year you forgot? vingegaard got his ass whooped much harder last year compared to this paris-nice in this stage of the year but when the tour hits he was in peak form and won.. thats what its about to time you peak performance to the tour. simple as that and jumbo is pretty good to make that happen
@@alyjam Gianetti should update his doping mix, because Vingegaard has the higher ceiling.
Jonas is not great tactically. Over the course of this race I’ve seen him do things multiple times that made no sense at all. When I picked up the pace before pog went I was yelling at the screen… “why!?!?” You know Pog is gonna go, he can’t stop himself. Wait for him to go, follow and then attack over him or hold with him.
training bro, sounds stupid but its true.. whole jonases year is build around the tour de france
Easy to say that front of screen...😜😂
@@Igangdu this tread really aged well for you!
Only red, white and blue in the country flags of the top ten GC 🤔
gaudu was just racing to cement a podium spot, that's all
If you watched the race it wasn't what he is was doing. I wonder why LR didn't mention it but gaudu was helbowing roglic and vigegaard the whole climb to take pulls. He was pretty annoyed. If he really wanted to cement his place he wouldn't have attacked 4times and let Bardet mader etc... catch back up ten times.
@@drym3943 I did watch it. What are you talking about? He was flicking them through because he wanted to work together. It was a break of the top 3 on GC off the front together. He puts time into 4th place etc
Vingegaard made no mistake the other day
Great video
Commentary shows no personal race experience
Little knowledge of an athlete peaking and when and why
The editing of the video on these summaries is superb. Really good video
The analysis tho is sometimes good sometimes off and sometimes way off.
The ways to improve the analysis wd be
Race yourself on your own bike in local racer
Train yourself on local group rides
Interview top cyclists. I guess it must be hard to get these interviews. But if you cd this process wd be a lot of fun for you. You wd learn a lot and have much fun. It might mean getting off the computer out the door and go to the pro races. Tho perhaps cd be done w zoom, but not as well I think, not sure
Damn, that's ignorant. Guy even liked his own comments.

To under estimate how bad that can be

Pog has so much more punch than vingi
Yes, but in the TDF, When Pog attacks, he takes seconds, but when Jonas attacks, he takes minutes
Pogacar clean as hell

Lanterne, Stop spoiling the result in the title please :(
Why do today's riders keep lids on their heads until shower time?
Again the Pogy fan podcast. You should rename the channel as "The Pogy fanboy"
It is called clickbaiting.
Pogacar favourite for green jersey, intermediate sprint classification and most combactive trophy at Tour de France.Keep on waisting energies in futile things Tadej....
Am I the only one who isn't a fan of Pogacar? Don't get me wrong he's a fantastic rider and will probably be one of the greatest when he retires but there's something about him that I can't stand. Maybe it's the fact that he's trying to be friends with everyone in the peloton.. There's a false sense of genuine-ness (not sure if that's a real word haha) Any other feeling this way? Thanks for your video as always LR
Amazing seeing Gaudu and Vingegaard race this well against this generations Armstrong, some doping program he's on
Vingegaard is honestly the most overrated cyclist right now, cant even come close to beating Pogacar 1v1, i dont understand why people compare these 2. Remco is way more superior than jonas, cant people talk about the cyclist that are actually good and not rely on teammates throughout the whole tours?
Its the danish people. They are a bit crazy sometimes.
I agree remco is much closer to pog than jonas.
He is not yet in the same form as last year. And Pog is now better prepared as he was in 2022. Pog trained a lot over winter.
how can he be the most overrated rider when he won the tour last year? wtf a stupid comment.. pogacar are only being dropped 2 times in his whole pro life and both time it was vingegaard sooo not overrated imo. its about timing your peak performance to the tour, you cant be in the best form all year
@@Igangdu jonas didnt win last tour, it was van aert and his team that made jonas won, dont forget pogs whole team got covid and was pretty much on his own, this race proved that jonas cant beat pog 1v1 and he is just a leech that holds on peoples wheels and is completely useless. TDF winner and cant even hold the wheel from the guy he 'dropped' last year? you are the stupid comment here. watch the race properly.
First
But last to get laid
I love the sport, but I have a really hard time at this point believing Pog is not doped. It just looks TOO easy for him.
There's the BIG difference between these blokes and Le Cannibale, Eddy would've kept attacking and put minutes into them
You talk too much
boring days of cycling, when you already know who will be the winner...Armstrong days are back in full swing
Hmmm, and who willbe winner? Tell us genious.
