      6375 is his total yearly points (ie. from this time last year untill now). His UCI points this year come to 3518. Still impressive. This would make him the 14th ranked team on his own (above Bora and under Movistar).

And he even have lots of time to make progress. Maybe remco commes the most close to pogacar, he is also a worldclass rider . Vingegaard won the tour because the backup he had from his whole team. Pogacar have learned from the tour of 2022. He will not make the same mistakes annymore ;-) .

      Small crash at San Remo, and a more significant one with that ridiculous Maciejuk crash at Flanders. Also he got wiped out pretty hard in that crosswind crash in Strade Bianche 2022. So no, not immune to crashes, but he's a slippery sumbitch and always seems to come out relatively unscathed.

    Great Content as always! LR really got me into watching cycling.
    As a Non-english native I struggle with some of the words you use in the podcast sometimes. So as a public service,would you mind explaining the following phrases:
    -flase flat
    -fake news climb
    -echelons
    -"shas patat"😅 (I can tell what it means from context but how is it spelled?)
    Thank you Patrick and Benji!Keep up the great work!

    • @Dqoi
      @Dqoi Год назад +4

      False flat refers to a gradual uphill road usually around 1-2%
      Fake news climb means a climb is insignificant compared to what it may seam
      Echelon refers to the groups that form in crosswinds
      Don't know what the last one means. Hope this helps.

    • @leoturgenov7440
      @leoturgenov7440 Год назад +3

      @@Dqoi I would consider fake news climbs to be a climb where the average gradient (say 6%) hides the fact that there are some very steep sections and some shallower sections. So the climb is much harder to ride than the avg % would suggest.
      Echelons are a diagonal formation of riders caused by trying to stay in the draft in crosswinds. These are significant because the width of the road limits how many people can get draft in an echelon, so splits can form.
      Finally, a “chasse patate” is a French slang term (translates to: chasing potatoes) that basically means a pointless chase, i.e. when someone is trying to catch a group ahead but gets stuck dangling behind that group.

    • @Dqoi

      If I timed it correctly (don't exactly know when the timing normally starts), it was a pretty slow climb up the mur, more than 20" slower than the record. Again, I might have started timing too early, I am not sure. Can't find anywhere else the time for this year.
      Also the gaps this year for top 10 where the closest since 2016.
      So a nice performance of Pogacar, but nothing dominant either. A good Roglic, Alaphilippe, even Teuns would have likely beaten him.

    uae have really set blueprint if you can put together team capable these all around gc generation remco roglic, jonas, powless, mas, higuita, the reason they win GT no mystery they are delivered to climb at pace and are able to hold high speed until everyone else drops or they push on. While guys like valverde, kreuziger , gilbert even at worlds was delivered to botto but UAE are doing sprint style leadouts Flanders great example knowing if speed is flying nobody has endurance and climbing ability of tadej to maintain and others drop same with amstel again big diffrence has been how solid his team have been executing the bjerg and oliveira leadout where tadej blew apart flanders will be blueprint for guys like powless, jorghenson maybe who arent fro slow speed able to power up like with kick of wout or VDP but could hold a high speed for longer on climb. If JV were to do same net year either Jonas or especially Primoz could easily win. They have to keep powder dry like tadej though he does make it all look so easy. Just observation with this generation

    Why not learn how to pronounce pogacars name?
    Then you shorten his name and call him pog and mispronounce that too. Why not say correctly?
