Ty, my birthday is July 10th. I'm a nurse and Eucharistic Minister in Scottsdale AZ. I will be praying for you 🙏🏻 & your family. I lost dad 20 years ago. It's sooo hard. I can't tell you any different! I cried when l read your comment. God bless you 🙏🏻 all 💙 🙏🏻 ❤️
I currently live in Texas, but in the boonies. Love it here. I just hate anything below 40f. Even 40f is cold to me. I just can't handle the cold. And forget that white stuff. Nope, nope, nope.
I already live in PARADISE here in Ontario, Canada. 🥰🎶❤️🇨🇦 Across from a beautiful lake!!! Majestic forest!!! Close enough to a city but I rarely go there. 🥰🎶❤️
My parents were lower middle class and we lived paycheck to paycheck so to save money on babysitting they each took a week off with me in the summer. My mom and I would shop, go out to lunch, and go see my grandmother. My dad and I would play mini golf, go swimming, and play in the yard together. Then I spent 2 separate weeks at my grandmothers in the summer. They are good memories not because we spent lots of money because we didn't, it was because we spent time with each other. A message to all, money is not necessary to make wonderful memories with your loved ones it only requires your time.
Holly. You had the best vacation I have ever heard of. When I was young I was never taken anywhere. My dad made good money. Never came home had his new car and bottle and we never saw him. I didnt even get school cloths. I look back and feel bad for mom. I am the child that took care of him 16 yrs when he got sick. I'm old now but I took myself to the beach often and in vacation. I still love a beach. Your life was beautiful and upper class.
@dothatch5147 I am glad that when you were able to you went on your own vacations and to the beach....even better. You did right by your dad taking care of him when he was sick so many today would not be bothered and would have sent him to a home. God bless you for doing the right thing even if he did not always do the right thing by the family. We were not rich in money in those days (or these today for that matter) but were are rich in memories. Hope you have a great day.
My dad was stationed in Kodiak in the 50's. I showed him the video you did there. He couldn't believe it. He turns 92 tomorrow. My favorite town is Skagway. Felt like it took you back to the 1800. Love all of Alaska!
That sounds good to us! Then, we'd never be concerned about driving in the dark, walking, etc., etc., etc. Plus we'd have you wonderful people to check in on every so often!!!
You guys need to visit Eagle River! My husband was born and raised here and I have been here with him for years. It's such an amazing small community. I think you guys would really love it! The actual river of Eagle River has some great campsites as well.
Visited Kenai 5 years ago, and I absolutely fell in love. As strange as it may sound, it felt like home. Life changed so quickly after that trip, becoming pregnant at 40!! While what I thought how and why I would live there, it wouldn't fit for me now. I still feel homesick for that place that I never lived it's strange, but maybe one day I will make my way back! I have been watching your channel for a couple of years now. I absolutely love watching your children grow, your content , family values, and love when you give to random people. I admire you all, and thank you for family-friendly content
Olivia’s right into the Margaritas! I love Alaska ❤ The places I would move to would be Tok, Fairbanks, Glen Allen, Palmer, or Wasila. I would love to homestead, too!
My family has been going to the same resort in north eastern Washington for the last 50+ years. We now have 3 generations at the camp this year. It is so fun to reconnect with family
I had a summer camp last week and we were playing Jeopardy on a white board. One of the categories was Geography. One of the questions (for 400) was “Name four cities in Alaska” and because I watch you guys, I said “Juneau, North Pole, Fairbanks, Anchorage” without hesitation. Another question that I was able to steal from a different team was “What’s the Capital City of Alaska?” and I correctly guessed Juneau which I was excited about lol. Again, thanks to watching your channel I’m familiar with Alaska. So thanks for the informational content and assisting me in Jeopardy ;)
My favorite memory is when I was in foster home. The foster parents would take us on vacation and they would go to the beach. I love your videos and look forward to your next video
I was very fortunate to see the peak from the air I was flying from anchorage to Fairbanks and we were a little early so the pilot slowed down and dropped altitude and we flew around the peak it was the most awesome thing I’ve seen we were so close you could see everything At my age I would never be able to see it Thanks to Alaska airlines
It’s so fun to watch you guys- my dad lived in Palmer when I was a kid, so I got to spend my summers in Alaska! We had family on the Kenai River, went fishing in Homer and camped at Johnson Lake every year. Can’t wait to go back and visit with my husband and kiddos someday!
We traveled from Ny to New Hampshire every year since I was 2. It was always a fun time visiting family and fall foliage in the North is beautiful. We also went to visit family in England 3 times when I was a kid. Always went in late September and I have a lot of wonderful memories from those trips. Now that I have my own kid, I have made it a point to travel often with him. First it was trips to Disney World. 6 times in 8 years. My husband passed very suddenly when our son was 4 and 1/2. If we didn't take those trips to DW before then, I would have no memories when we were a family of 3. Now we are cross country travelers and by far those have been the best memories for us..
I love to see you having fun with your kids. I also love to see Alaska when you go on vacation. Thank you for your great videos.😊 I can't possibly live where it is so cold, but I absolutely want to visit.
I wish I could go back in time when my kids were little....we drove to Estes's Park, CO from Dallas for ten years, staying at the YMCA of theRockies. Kids were in Camp there, hayrides, Rocky Mountain trails....enjoy every moment. Oops, my friend and we're in Denali this time last year....amazing ❤
Great vacation for the whole family, Chucky Cheese, Krispy Cream donuts, water park and so much much more. You're an amazing family, keep up the great work. ❤🎉❤🎉
My greatest memories as a child my dad would travel across country from Massachusetts to California. We would camp in our trailer and see many places ie. Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and many more places. I have traveled to all states except Hawaii.
I am still so happy that you adopted Olivia. She is so very lucky. I don't know you all personally, but it is so wonderful to watch how lucky your kids are. ❤
I am right where you are talking about! I am ready to make a big move and I have just fallen in love with Alaska. I have visited and my heart is in anchorage. I am a single woman and currently live in Kansas City. I work in Accounting, and have been researching jobs, etc. and there is definitely more job opportunities for me in Anchorage. I actually really liked Fairbanks. I felt a closer community feel and even more churches I felt like. But, with work, I think Anchorage is on my heart. Will probably take me a couple years to save the money, but really starting to put pieces together now that I have made the decision!
You all seem to have a great time together. Even though you had that electrical problem, you handled that with ease. And you did it all inside that compact RV. Kudos to your enthusiasm and perserverance. Libby is (of course) adorable!
The US Navy sent me all over the World and I have done and seen so much. The Best were the ones with Family where ever we have been and what ever we did. As a Family we visited many-many-many places. Many places most people only dream of visiting.
I would love to live in Alaska in a remote area, but whole family is in Alabama so I have to just visit occasionally. Received my trek tote and I love it!!! Thank you for the speedy delivery.
My dad was a truck driver so my vacations was riding with him❤️ my mom and little brother. Trips to Florida in the summer to haul watermelons to Chicago. One trip to Virginia to see my sister on Thanksgiving weekend. Great memories ❤️
My parents were divorced and my mother raised 3 children on her own. There wasn't any money for vacations. Once my brother and I were older we took mom to Alaska (the poor woman had never been on a plane). We traveled from Ohio to Seattle. We took a small ship cruise. It was the best! She is gone now and we are so blessed to have those memories. We hope to get back one day to see the interior. ❤
My mom and I took a trip from Missouri to Oregon on a bus! 😂 It was a wonderful trip and beautiful sites. If I had to move to Alaska, which I've contemplated, I would want to homestead but be close enough to a city to enjoy the things the city has to offer. So Fairbanks area!!!❤
Just seeing you guys doing familiar things makes me smile 😊 And here people think there isn’t much in Alaska but igloos and polar bears. Little do they know we have some of the most amazing things to do and see here. I still can’t believe it’s been over a year since I watched your guys channel. I used to watch it all the time. Even bought a cute headband from you guys a couple years back when you were getting everything up and going with Alaskan apparel. Building the shop to put it all in. I’m just trying to catch up on all I missed now. It’s been lots of fun catching up. I just love seeing your family grow and smile and laugh and do great things in your community. We need more happy people like you all. Thanks so much for sharing. God bless each and every one of you!!!! 🙏🏻
Camping every weekend, water skiing & tubing. Road trip vacations across the lower 48. Those are my best memories. I’m instilling the love of camping in my grandkiddos now 😊
I used to live in Alaska 23 years ago. But if I were to move back there I would moved to anchorage. Due to it being beautiful and lots to do. And you have the ability to drive pretty much anywhere else you want Togo in Alaska or even to the lower states
I grew up in the city and then we moved to a small rural town, now I moved to a small rural mountainous town and I wouldn't change it and all the amenities ergo shopping is only 45 minutes away. I have wildlife, a creek and waterfalls runs thru our 100 acre property. Our little slice of serenity. My memories camping , fishing, waterskiing , swimming and Island hopping at our grandparents cabin every summer. Thank you for the marvelous gorgeous views of you trip, blessings to you and the family. 😊🇺🇲
We had an old 1950's mobile home along the river and we went there every weekend in the summer. Our dog Spike always beat us into the back of the truck to go there on Friday nights. We spent so much time on inner tubes floating on the river. Eating s'mores and just spending time with our family. It was amazing and I sure miss that time. But great memories to keep me going.
If we moved to Alaska, we would want to live in the North Pole/Fairbanks area or Wasilla area, have some land, and do a little homestead. I'd like land to homestead. Alaska is so beautiful. We've been there to visit twice, and we did get to see Denali on our first visit. We've been in June (we experienced the midnight sun, huge mosquitos(lol)and some great fishing)and October (there was some snow when we went, very cool, and we seen the Northern Lights a few times) and we loved both times of year, we can't wait to visit again.
Grew up in Texas and we had a houseboat in New Mexico that we would go to. Those are good memories. I’ve lived in Canada now for 41 yrs. ☺️🇨🇦❤️ So funny to see a Texas Roadhouse in Alaska.
i lived in CA almost my entire life and know live in texas and worked at texas roadhouse in Medford OR when it was first built one of my bosses moved to alaska and opened the TRH up there .
One story from Canada when I was 12 yrs old. We were traveling through the interior of B.C., and stopped to camp for one night at Lake Kalamalka (which means "lake of many colours") near the town of Vernon. It was so beautiful and such a nice spot, we stayed for two more nights with out extended family. We had a blast!
Just moved to the peninsula for a couple of years but I think the valley will be my ultimate destination. mostly because that's where a lot of my friends live.
Camping is fun exploring the wilderness safe traveling Somers family. Olivia is growing she's adorable, I'm happy you adopted her with loving and caring
Your trip looks like a weekend we did with our kids and grandkids a few weeks ago. Stayed in a hotel with a water park, went to an amusement park ate at Texas roadhouse. So much fun to build memories with and bless our family! I would definitely go small homestead near smaller community.
my dad was in the navy and we were stationing in Scotland when my sister and I were ages 4-9. We went RV exploring all over the British Isles with another family, and having that experience was one of the best of my childhood. There's something special about RV'ing/camping that you don't get in a hotel-vacation (in my opinion).
I think my favorite family vacation was probably all the summers we spent camping in the UP of Michigan. We jumped off Black Rock and toured Pictured Rocks
My two adult children and me and my husbands family went to the great smoky mountain river in Missouri and went white water rafting together. What a trip!
the first time i was in alaska we missed seeing denali while in the park as it was rainy and cloudy the whole time we were there. Imagine my surprise when driving back to anchorage and seeing Denali as you did with the blue sky and snow while looking in my rear view window - what a surprise and delight!! Looks like you had a wonderful family trip!! Seward or North Pole would be where I would choose to live...
Yes…. Our kids grew up going to Gatlinburg Tennessee… All seasons, they still talk about it. We’d take our two and add five more.. Cooking and playing in the mountains.. My stairway is covered in the pictures 😊
Growing up we didn’t have a lot of money. My parents did take us to Niagara Falls, Canada’s wonderland and Toronto. Such fun. We also went to our family cottage. Great memories from childhood
I really kove watching you guys, wish to have a vacation like what your family does great fam ,Olivia were so lucky to have a fzmily like yours...God bless Somers🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰🥰
My Dad bought a little cabin on the Russian River in Guerneville Calif when he was 20 years old and single. So that is where we spent vacations. We were very lucky but always wanted to go see something different. One Spring my parents took us to Lake Tahoe to see the snow. I was so excited to touch it. I thought it was going to be so soft. We stopped on the side of the road and when I ran up to the first snow I could reach I stuck my hand in and it actually cut me. I was shocked. That is one of my favorite memories. There was also a giant bear in a big glass case standing on it’s hind legs. I was very impressed and also glad there weren’t bears like that in Guerneville and definitely none in San Francisco. I still have the cabin and it is one of my most favorite places to be even though I have been lucky and have traveled as an adult.
Hey howdy Somers family. Looks like you guys are having a great time. I wish they would have had all that amazingness back in 73 74 and 75 when I was there. You look great jessica❤
I really loved Homer when I visited but hearing Jess talk about the winters, I don’t know if I could hack it lol. Seward was cool too. Great vlog as always, guys. Welcome home!!! ❤️
I just received my Somers in Alaska T-shirt today and I absolutely love it!! Thank you so much for putting out amazing pieces, Jessica! ❤️ I can’t wait to show it off 🥰
Our family would drive to Florida to stay with Aunt/Uncle in St. Augustine every year. I loved going to the surf shops and I loved going to the beach. I loved getting shell jewelry and other kitschy type things as a little girl.
Everywhere I’ve been in Alaska was so so beautiful! It would be hard to pick ! I’d say a a small community with access to large city would be ideal ! You can always do road trips as you know well ! Lol ! Thanks for a gorgeous journey !!❤
Awe sweet olivia fell asleep floating ,lol, yum texas road House, cool fun center, glad you got electric fixed, beautiful drive ,im like small town but due to health nit off grid but no big cities, just small town, i like north pole
Most memorable trips we took were 3-we lived in Florida and drive to all of these trips-1st Niagara Falls. I was 6 ish and was so mad because my mother made me wear this bright yellow thick rain jacket everywhere. On a plus note, she bought while there this jacket for her to wear and 45 years later she still had it, up until the day she passed away. 2nd was Carlsbad Caverns, NM. That was really cool (literally and figuratively). 3rd-every year we went to the mountain of Gatlinburg, TN. We stayed in the same place, same room from the time I was a kid until the last time we stayed there before they tore it down and turned it into a Margaritawille Hotel. As an adult we still go to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge and have always taken our daughter. Now she is grown, married and about to have her first child and she still loves going there-it’s her favorite place.
I always wanted to move to Alaska years ago but as I Am getting older I will stick to the mountains of West Virginia thank for the video God bless you and your family Amen PS but if I was Rich I would be there in a hartbeet no matter were as Long it was in alaska
California Linda shares we enjoyed the RV adventures. Your family was having so much fun. If we ever moved, it would be near Kenai where my daughter and her family live.
I loved watching this episode. I enjoy seeing the different areas of Alaska. Favorite family travel memory would be day trips out to Eastern Oregon and then swimming in Diamond lake I think if I had to move to Alaska I like being a little rural but close to amenities.
Our vacations pretty much every year were the second week of July, to the Butlins (later Mosney) Holiday Centre a little way north of Dublin, Ireland. We and another family we knew would pack 4 adults and 2 (later 3) kids in a small rented car and drive down from Belfast. Fantastic memories, the smell of fish and chips and sea air always makes me think of there. Sadly I can’t go back, as it’s now closed, and 3000 miles away. But it truly was happy memories all the way.
My RV broke down and I just spent two months living in North Pole and Fairbanks while waiting for parts. We had a great time there getting to know the area and we met some great people that made us feel like semi locals. The delay gave us the opportunity to see the Northern lights, it was amazing to finally see them in person. We left yesterday and made it to Haines. We will take the ferry down to Bellingham and then head to Florida. We will be back in June 2024 and plan on spending five months in Alaska. We can’t wait to see North Pole and Fairbanks again.
I would personally live in a medium-sized city with a few hospitals and plenty of shopping. A family friendly Environment, with fun things to see and do. Perhaps near a lake. Hope you had a great family trip! 🤗
This was just great and no matter what you do you always act so happy which i know at times off camra is differant believe i had 4 children the children is always happy enjoy them while you can because they be up and out the house before you know it , enjoyed seeing the baby more and all the children us older people loves watching those kids having fun , you got a great family , from this nanny down here in south Alabama
Love seeing all the different places in Alaska, would definitely be a dream trip. We enjoy camping with our family in the beautiful mountains of NC and going trout fishing.
Ketchikan, or Kenai, have visited both 2 times. , but would go back in a heart beat! But Skagway is up there in the top 3. Last time we were in Skagway, we hiked up a Mt, off the dock area. Stopped counting Eagles after 20...andgot to see authentic top, a beautiful Glacier lake. Just sat on a big Boulder and enjoyed how wonderful Alaska is. God must have really been paying attention when he made Alaska. Vickie from SE Pa
We would love to visit Alaska, but It's so far! Thanks for taking us to all the beautiful places. I think we would enjoy living in the area where you are, close enough to amenities, but still rural. Looks like a great family vacation. Olivia is growing so much.
Beautiful scenery in the opening shots with fantastic waterfalls galore. I grew up in a coastal town in southern England and there is something about the light when one is close to the sea (what you call "ocean"). And you can buy really fresh fish in coastal towns. But anywhere in Alaska would be too cold for me for six months of the year.
Growing up we didn’t have family vacations ! However as an adult we had family vacations for weekends included my parents and sister and her family ! Weekend trips around the uk

Definitely North Pole if I had to 🎉🎉🎉
I grew up in PA, so there was never a summer without a trip to Hershey Park!!!

Palmer is one of my most favorite places on earth. The green and the mountains and the reindeer farm 😉❤️
Musk ox farm too!

Loved seeing the beauty of Alaska. I like the idea of being near a city but live on the outskirts. The vibe of North Pole / Fairbanks❤.
My mom and I took a trip from Missouri to Oregon on a bus! 😂
It was a wonderful trip and beautiful sites.
If I had to move to Alaska, which I've contemplated, I would want to homestead but be close enough to a city to enjoy the things the city has to offer.
So Fairbanks area!!!❤
Fantastic Vlog. The drone footage is always amazing. Alaska is definitely a beautiful state.
What a fun trip! So beautiful. Livy is so precious!
I like the dry cold and close to a city. An unobstructed view of the northern lights would be a bonus.

My memories camping , fishing, waterskiing , swimming and Island hopping at our grandparents cabin
every summer.
Thank you for the marvelous gorgeous views of you trip, blessings to you and the family. 😊🇺🇲
All the kiddos are so cute. Olivia fits in so perfectly 💛✨️
My family would go camping every some. They were the best memories.
I glanced at Evelyn and I thought it was mama! She looks so much like you! Wow wow wow! All beautiful children. .all 4 of them
Thanks for showing us Alaska!! We have been there on a cruise but your RV trip shows us the true Alaska!! Love you guys!!!🥰
the first time i was in alaska we missed seeing denali while in the park as it was rainy and cloudy the whole time we were there. Imagine my surprise when driving back to anchorage and seeing Denali as you did with the blue sky and snow while looking in my rear view window - what a surprise and delight!! Looks like you had a wonderful family trip!! Seward or North Pole would be where I would choose to live...
Yes….
Our kids grew up going to Gatlinburg Tennessee…
All seasons, they still talk about it. We’d take our two and add five more..
Cooking and playing in the mountains..
My stairway is covered in the pictures 😊
I’m so homesick for Alaska. 36 years in the interior. It will always be home even though my wife wanted to leave to be closer to her family.
Thanks for taking us to the beautiful places in Alaska! Olivia is getting so big it is hard to believe! Love Y’all! Love and Prayers Always
Hello Somers family. Beautiful, but strong nature! Better small town, with the proxsimity of the forets. Have a super day. Bye. Rudi.
Growing up we didn’t have a lot of money. My parents did take us to Niagara Falls, Canada’s wonderland and Toronto. Such fun. We also went to our family cottage. Great memories from childhood
Love Texas Roadhouse here in AZ.
Loved that you opted for Palmer to be the area if you left North Pole..My daughter and her family live outside of Palmer. Beautiful Place right there
Hey howdy Somers family. Looks like you guys are having a great time. I wish they would have had all that amazingness back in 73 74 and 75 when I was there. You look great jessica❤
It’s always a great day when ur vids come on! It’s so wonderful to see a whole family unit ❤from ohio
I'm behind....didn't know uou all adopted.
That's wonderful!!!
My husband are from the Midwest but we lived in Kodiak for 2 years and it was AMAZING, and I would move back if the chance arose!
Favorite family travel memory would be day trips out to Eastern Oregon and then swimming in Diamond lake
I think if I had to move to Alaska I like being a little rural but close to amenities.
I got my stuff I ordered today!!! I’m so stinking excited 😊
Montana, were happy here. Have MUCH of what you have....love ya!
I lived in a bush village in the Arctic. I like Fairbanks, Palmer, Valdez, Homer & Seward. Thanks for taking us along!!! ❤
Any part of Alaska would be perfect for me. The last of the Great Frontiers.
Fun chuckie cheese,im glad your out having family fun,fun water park
My favorite memory as a child and an adult was driving across the Mackinaw bridge and continuing up to Sault Ste Marie to see the Soo Locks.
I would personally live in a medium-sized city with a few hospitals and plenty of shopping. A family friendly
Environment, with fun things to see and do.
