💕🔥🎶🎸There is no Queen reaction like a HAP3SPEAKZ Queen reaction!! Simply the best, especially this 1985 LIVE AID performance of Radio GaGa. Freddie's vocals were so on point and his stage presence MAGICAL. I get chills when the stadium joins in. What an iconic moment in time. I love it sooooo much❤❤❤. Your enthusiasm and energy is infectious. Thank you! Peace J ✌ ☮ 💕

When I was growing up in the 70’s, we totally relied on the radio for music - we would hear what was new and if we could find our way to a record store, and had enough money, we’d buy what we liked, but having the radio for that information was crucial! Totally understandable why this song made so much sense when it was written❤️

And putting cassette players up to the radio to (attempt to) record. Then the DJ would talk during the good parts or you'd hit record at the wrong time.

Priceless! Anyone not familiar with it, when he casually mentions his playlist, take it seriously! One of the most comprehensive and carefully sorted I have ever seen. I have taken several strolls through it just to remind myself of songs that I don't remember. It's wonderful!

Freddie had a special, nearly mystical Gift for making each individual person the the crowd (and watching across the decades) feel seen and loved…and feel like they too were an integral part of the performance. It can’t be explained logically- it just IS.
Yes, John was singing in that bit, and his mic was ON (although kept low in the mix comparatively) - if you go back to just that part and listen carefully, you can hear his distinct Leicester/Oadby East Midlands accent . 😊

Freddie & Roger were meant to be when it comes to the vocals. Freddie's magnificent, as always. And then Roger belts out in accompaniment and the music just soars to the heavens.

Love seeing you do this reaction Hap even though you’ve done it before in the total Live Aid concert. It’s great to go back and focus on each song and performance because watching Live Aid in its entirety is so fast moving and energizing and mind blowing when you see it all together for the first time and even the 50th time, it still is so jaw-dropping that Freddie could have that type of control over such a huge crowd of people that it is almost scary. There NEVER EVER will be another Freddie Mercury, the amazing Legend as we knew him, but thanking the stars above that we are still able to enjoy his performances all these years later is quite something. I’ve said it before, but I love your reactions to Queen and especially the way Freddie touches your heart and moves you. I know the feeling. He is soooo missed. Thanks for doing this reaction today....I could always do with some Freddie and Queen to brighten my days and you certainly did that today. Have a Wonderful Day Hap. Btw, I am loving your Journey reactions and hoping to see you react to Why Can’t This Night Go On Forever. It is a beautiful rock ballad with Steve’s voice absolutely soaring and pure liquid gold. ♥️

Oh Hap, first the chicken skin, then the tears floating over my cheeks.- Remember, when you told the 3 stories of your dreams? That right there is the spiritual connection and the reason why Freddie's voice affects you the way it does. Call me crazy, but I know "stuff" 😉 Sending love your way ☮ Thank you ❣

Oh HAP I don't mind at all, it's never too late for a queen reaction and it can never be enough🥰👑. And I can fully understand, that you always get so emotional. Like me, you are full of love and genuine admiration for this band. "How music changes through the years", yes of course, but it just goes to show that this music from this magnificent band is that old but not out of date, it's still relevant and will stay forever - LEGENDARY 🤩. I never get bored listening this music over and over again. And like you, I often catch things that I never have realized before. I LOVE it and also your reaction - thank you🥰🙋🏻‍♀

Like you, I smile whenever I get a brief glimpse of Deaky! The lyrics to this song sound superficial but are not. They're about the new video age and the distraction videos cause so we "don't have to use our ears" because the music gets lost in the visuals. A bit ironic since they were right up there in the forefront of videos themselves. You had to do videos in that era. Being the same age as these guys, the glow of the radio dial was "my only friend through teenage nights". His mention of invaders from Mars refers to HG Wells "War of the Worlds" presented on radio in the 30's by Orson Wells. Radio was so powerful (nobody had TV's) that people thought it was real and some had heart attacks and even committed suicide. When I saw Queen, Deaky did sing backup, albeit rarely, and I could hear his voice. Mind you, he just did chanting stuff like he did here or "Somebody to love" in that song. The thing is he was seldom on video when he did. You could just see him approach the mic and it would go to someone else. I imagine you saw "Liar" in London, Live at the Rainbow '74, where he shared a mic with Freddy. That mic was certainly live.

In this performance, Freddie made sound visible, you can see it when the audience claps along the second time. You can see how the clapping goes through the audience like a wave, so you can see where the sound is and how it travels backwards through the stadium.

Aw Hap, you've got me tearing up as well. That incredible day. I think that Queen were always fantastic but what they achieved on that stage, that day, was magical. The stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐and planets🪐🪐🪐🪐aligned and it was perfection. Freddie reached every person in that stadium and every person watching on television. How lucky we are that those four men found each other. I mean seriously think about it. Unbelievable, will love them always ♥♥♥♥🎶🎸🥁🎤✨🔥

John always sang in live performances because 3 guys were not able to completely fill out the vocals on their own. Don't know where the rumors of John's mike being turned off came from. John just preferred not to sing lead. Ever. Like everyone else in the band, he auditioned and was hired. John was as competent as anyone in Queen.

I believe I said this before......In the palm of his hand.....Every. Single. One. Of. Them.
I always took this song as a bit of a dig to video. (when we grow tired of all this visual) The song (radio) should be the star not videos. BUT....that's just me....

I can tell you in detail why music gets us emotional.....why it ewokes emotions in us... but that's for another episode 😉
This is musical history! Radio GaGa's one of my fav's by Queen.
Nah....well... is it bizarre? Look at history, and the video... it gives away clues... "Through Wars of Worlds - Invaders from Mars. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_of_the_Worlds
So the radio when it first appeared, was something magical, almost out of this world.... an alien.. some believed there were little people living inside it. 😄
Anyways. Thnx for you being you, sharing bits and pieces of who you are... Greetings from Arctic Lo-Ve Islands, Norway, The Midnight S🌞N has shown her face for the last time almost 2 weeks ago here on the 68th parallell, and now it's 2 weeks and we can watch the spectaculars of the Aurora Borealis. Good times, good times indeed❣👋👋
