Ne Oblivscaris are one of the greatest metal bands of this or any era. From Tim Charles with his enchanting clean singing and almost mythical violin playing it adds a mixture of somberness and beauty to the tracks. You have Xenor (Or however it is spelled) with his thick watery growls that are both articulate and emotion filled with the two vocal styles being this sort of light and dark. There is the rest of the instrumentation which is very obviously death metal on top of the beautifully crafted classical piece to make for one of the best sounds ever. Love from a fellow metal vocalist/long time fan of the channel and your music Mark keep up the great work.
funny thing I noticed is xen usually sings about the more in depth parts of the song while tim sings lighter lyrics, its like hearing about the world wars at a young age and then going into more depth later in life. absolutely astonishing the lyrics are as well
I remember Portal Of I coming out in '12 and falling in love with the band. Crazy to think they're not considered "big", they're incredibly talented. Amazing song
My favouritest of bands. I've always struggled to find a band I can really say is my favourite because for most bands I like 2-3 songs and the rest does absolutely nothing for me. Some of the better ones have maybe 6-7, what I used to call my favourite bands had maybe like a 50 % ratio of songs I like vs dislike. These guys are IT. There are 3 songs of theirs that don't do it for me and the rest I ADORE. So happy I found them through Elizabeth (Charismatic Voice). They're releasing an album in March and doing a tour in Europe. I think the last time I was this stoked about something I might have been 5 years old.

Already heard one first time reactor saying Equus will be in the top ten songs of 2023, Equus is all off this album. It's dedicated to the fires Australia had a few years back.

a lot of people baulk at the gutturals which is such a shame. This band was what drew me into that sound as the entire soundscape is so much more than the sum of its parts! Not long to the album release now...
i saw these guys last night in Melbourne (9th September 2023) it was an absolute masterclass of a show. Tim (vocals/violin) had his daughter on stage playing violin as well. absolutely beautiful
NeO is too good, they definitely deserve the views like you mention. Hope they get there from this album. I want to hold you to what you said about listening to their new album when it comes out to revitalize some fun into your music listening so it's less of a job, I have a feeling the album will do that for ya :^) appreciate ya dude

Thank you for this I like when you do stuff other than deathcore. No offense to Deathcore but considering what you do vocally you do a lot of cleans and harsh vocals.
Am i the only one that feels as if the first part of the song is a mishmash of crap? Like yeah the musianship is topnotch as always but it felt aimless, as if they had a bunch of ideas and just blended all together, i don know, just doesnt sound good or coherent.

Ne Obliviscaris is a cut above the rest when it comes to prog metal. They make death metal sound beautiful in a way I wouldn't have thought possible.
