These Amazon racing seats that I purchased for my C5 Corvette are a great compromise for those that don't want to pay several hundred dollars more for aftermarket racing seats. The C5 Corvette is tight for many aftermarket racing seats, so the options are limited. This budget friendly seat is one of the cheapest you can find on Amazon and they fit the C5 Corvette.

The Evo X seats are great. I'm sure the quality is better on the corbeau seats, but I should meet up with him to compare once i get them installed.

Like I noted in the video, these look exactly like Cipher seats and if you look at Braum Elite you'll see the same similarities. There's probably better quality control when it comes to those seat manufacturers, as these probably don't have any.
Never change you automatic heavy duty seat with cheap seat like that... l buy custom leather yellow and foam and upgrade the seat ..cost around 600$ for both .. you can buy it from Amazon or eBay .,..they are soooo beautiful...
I looked into buying custom skins and new foam. The foam i found for the sport seats is almost that $600 you mention. It was over 1k and that's with me doing the work on the seats

Why didn't you just call up Caravaggio? He said he'd fix me up with most comfortable set of all leather and alcantara racing seats that I'd want to sleep in the Vette. Yeah, that's what I want! How much are they I asked? Reply: "They start at $10k, custom stitching is extra." I'm now on an increased dose of blood pressure medication ans Xanax! 🤦♂️ Seats look great Dave. Really anxious to see what they look like installed. How do you propose to "dye" the stitching? I kinda did my stitching in a gold which worked out decently with my cashmere interior. But I did it by hand with a Sharpie. Yeah, THAT was a wintertime project! I went through pounds of Chock full O'nuts Coffee on that little detail! After you've removed you stock seats, why don't you peel back the factory carpeting and install some insulation and/or dyna-matting to help keep heat to a minimum since these new seats are ventilated. Just my two-cents. Oh yeah, before you install these new seats, you should get them COVID tested.😉 Save the Wave👋
PC your ears must be ringing. I was just typing up an email to check in since I've been blitzing RUclips with uploads over the last week and I haven't seen a comment from you lol. Dynamat or something similar is a great idea. I definitely plan on doing that, but I was going to hold off until I got a garage. This way I can remove the interior and install everything at my pace and not be reliant on nice weather. I'm going to use a fabric dye pen on the stitching. Just need to make a run to the craft store.

I still question the use of the moniker "Smart Phone."😉 Anyway, I'm glad I asked you as to how you're going to do the "dye" work. So a "fabric dye pen" from a craft store! DUH! Why didn't I think of that. 🤦♂️ DON'T ANSWER THAT!🤣 Maybe I better drink more V-8 Vegetable Juice with a 150 shot of Nitrous!😁 Smart thinking on waiting until you have garage location to do the install. Plus, for the time being I think you have enough on your plate (no pun intended, but you don't even come close to looking like you're 190lbs) to keep you busy through the winter months of which we all get to officially welcome on December 21st. Any option to get the words “corvette” into the headrest?
Only way would be to bring it to an upholstery shop to do it. These are generic seats for any car, so there's no specific branding options. Thanks for watching and commenting

So far so good with the seats. They're a little tight and I'm not a big guy, but I guess that's exactly what you want when you switch to a seat like this. The stock seats are a great touring seat, but I wanted to add a bit more feel to the car. Thanks for watching and commenting
I have been watching your channel for a little bit now. I have a 2004 base C5. I have been slowly upgrading things on it. So the beginning of this video had me laughing. Your wife sounded just like mine when the boxes started showing up. LOL 😆

I ended up doing c6 belts and that helped a ton for clearance

I just bought these seat but the brackets for them are all sold out on amazon?🤔 how is everyone else installing them? Where from?
I'm in the middle of my own headache with Cipher Auto brackets. I figured since these seats are just unbranded Cipher seats that their brackets would be good, but I have to drill my own holes to make them fit. Hopefully have an update this weekend in his I made out.

Hardest part is talking to a camera. I'm still not that great at it, but that's what editing is for lol. I use my phone for everything, with a gopro here and there. Before starting I watched a few channels that helped greatly. Think Media, Roberto Blake and Nick Nimmin. You can watch videos for days on how to start and grow on RUclips, but just getting the first video out is the hardest part. Then you'll figure out things that work for you or don't work for you. Just have fun creating and the rest will take care of itself.
I got the tan ones on mine. You're right, these seats are great for cheap seats.
I did get mine to work without putting in backwards or opposite sides.

What seat brackets did you use?
I bought from Cipher. When you order, they send you an email asking for mounting hole dimensions so I'm waiting for them to be fabricated and sent out.
I have the Cipher version for my C5, very similar to yours, but tan. I've been looking at them for 4-5 months now in the garage. Get started so I can get some inspiration to get started on mine!

So, after several months how do the seats feel now.?
Seats feel great. Comfortable and light years more supportive than the stock seats. Depends what you use the car for. If it's more of just a touring car, then the stock seats are fine. The seats do make the car feel sportier and you feel more connected to the car. As if a Corvette needed to feel sportier lol, but it really does.
Bought a pair of those for my Autocross C5 and they hold me nice and tight, even though my big butt has to squeeze in them a bit. n
Not a seat I would use for a Daily but quality and finish is very good for the price.
I agree about the quality for the price. I only drove once so far with them as Winter has a strangle hold on us right now, but that one time was 100miles and i found them to be comfortable. More comfortable than the stock seats. Not everybody will agree since everybody has a different expectation of how seats should feel. Thanks for sharing your feedback

I saw these seats after spending nearly $1000 restoring my seats and had buyers remorse.
That was the point I was at. I wanted to do something with the seats to make them a little more unique, but as you know that costs $. I'm happy so far, but they're not in the car yet so we'll see.

Lol I was trying to hold onto the stock seats for awhile, but it was finally time. Sat in a few cars that had corbeau and it was night and day, so here we go.

@@YellowVette04 I need to do an update. They have been good. Two small gripes recently. 1) on the door side lower leg bolster either my foam has fatigued or the foam wasn’t pulled over the frame all the way (easy fix) although if I let it go too much longer the pleather might get stretched. 2) my daughter pulled the slider adjustment out of the track once. Had to take the seat out to put it back in...
But I’m 10k miles on mine.. no real complaints.
Good to know. I'll probably only put 3k a year on these, but still interested to see how they'll wear.

Guys get the Amazon brackets, but I ordered cipher brackets on black Friday. Idk, just wanted something I know was sturdy lol. Little bit more money, but yanno.

Nice thing about cipher is you order the brackets for the C5, then they email you asking for the mounting hole dimensions so they can put the holes where you need them.
What are the weight differences/savings?
When I get the brackets and assemble the seats I'll weigh both and a if there is a savings and how much. Good question.
