Thanks for watching and hope this vid helps! I've seen people say you can cut a hole through the ebrake shroud and knock out the studs and insert studs that way. I didn't want to do that and I also couldn't find a suitable spot to do so.
Good job Dave! Actually you make it look fairly easy lol. I guess it’s just a lot of stuff to take apart but not super complicated. Thanks for info on how to do this it helps to know how it all fits in there. Your rims are gonna look dope.
Thanks for the comment. I worked out most of the kinks when I did the Passenger side and that made the driver's side go a lot quicker. Hope this helps is you ever need to replace a wheel bearing 👍
I'm always in your corner. Plus, "support" is the easy part. You have the hard part in taking on these projects, doing the filming and balancing life, work and family. Stay the course.
Definitely a pain, but now I know how to get to all that stuff if I ever have to replace hubs or ball joints. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. Glad the vids help 🤘
Tires are super nice. I'll see how they drive in a few days, so hopefully they perform as good as they look. Sounds like they should based on all the reviews I've seen and read.
man im digging the bronze makes me wish i would have followed my first mind and plasti dipped my factory wheels bronze great video like always keep them coming
Nice job Dave! Replaced all 4 of my shocks today, but broke a left rear lug nut stud when taking the lug nuts off. So, I’m gonna have to do this. Looks fairly easy
Just stripped 2 studs trying to run a 7mm spacer on the stock studs and nuts lol big mistake. Pretty disappointing to see the entire hub assembly needs to be removed to replace them! Ah well your video will be a huge help when the time comes to swap them out.
Let me know what you end up doing for your center cap. C7 caps will snap right in, but I wanted to keep a C5 logo in them. I filled the MMR logo with bondo and then sanded smooth and color match painted the cap. Then I found someone to make me a small red C5 logo decal.
I know it all to well, one corner left on bushings, ball joints and rod ends. Almost had to start a revolution over the shock bushing, it took all of my cunning and most of my wisdom to come up with a plan. But by the grace of zora that bitch slid in, you know you too pissed when you win but still pissed. Hahaha
Love the videos keep them coming would love to see you do a review on those continental extreme contact tires just purchased some for myself for my C5, Let me know what you think of them And which sizes you went with.
Thanks for the support 🤘. Hopefully have the car done and back on the ground by the weekend, just in time for rain all weekend lol. Probably won't get a chance to drive until next weekend with my work schedule, so you may be driving before me.
Hey what’s up brother, I just stumbled upon your channel and already loving it and subscribe. I am looking for spacers for the rear of my C6 because I am adding the z06 rear quarters can I please get any suggestions. Thanks
I appreciate the comment and sub. I'm not as well versed in the C6 world as I am with C5s. The best places to get info like that are corvetteforum.com or a C6 Facebook group. I can guarantee that question has been asked on both of those and you'll find your answer. Sorry I didn't have an exact answer, but didn't want to give you wrong info.
Good video brother. Depending on mileage it may have been a good idea to do the wheel bearings while you were in there. They come with the studs and Timkens are only about $100 each. I replaced them on two c5s one at about 80k and the other 90k miles. One set because they needed it and the other set because I accidentally purchased two sets of rears. So figured why not do the preventative maintenance.
I thought about and almost went with new bearings. Mine are fine at 62k so should have a few more years until they need to be replaced. At least now I know how to do it lol.
@@YellowVette04 yeah you should be good for a while. It's an easy job anyway. It's harder to find free time than it is to work on a C5. The C5 is one of the easist cars I've ever worked on. (70s and older cars excluded).
@@YellowVette04 it's a good one to start with. It's simple but complicated enough. Like a 500 piece puzzle. BMWs and SAABs on the other hand....pack a lunch.
That was so much worse than I was expecting lol. Mostly all caused by that third star nut for the wheel bearing being behind the ball joint. I think when I did my S10 ones I was able to just sneak it out by turning the wheel but that was the front obviously.
Thanks for watching and hope this vid helps! I've seen people say you can cut a hole through the ebrake shroud and knock out the studs and insert studs that way. I didn't want to do that and I also couldn't find a suitable spot to do so.
I see you finally got a quality drill. All you need are impact sockets now
Lol true. I have impact sockets for the high torqued bolts, but not for the little guys.

There's nothing else that I can say Dave other than "well done!"👍👍 Save the Wave🙋♂️
Thanks for the support as always PC.

Wheels are looking good. Can't wait to see the final product
Thanks buddy. One last thing to do and then I'm going to enjoy it for until the fall. That's when I'm coming after you to match your power level 😉
@@YellowVette04 You can still take me in a straight line
It's aways good to put the rear axle nut back on... Lol...
Great video...
Haha always. Thanks for the support
Love the “preview” at the end! 👍👏
Thanks for watching the end. Love the look and can't wait to get it on the ground.
Just got done with mine... That was a huge pain.... This vid helped me a lot though. Thank you man! You make some awesome vids!
Definitely a pain, but now I know how to get to all that stuff if I ever have to replace hubs or ball joints. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. Glad the vids help 🤘
Dude!! This is almost as hard as the cam job! Glad you got it done buddy! Wheels are 🔥
Lol yea it wasn't fun, but not nearly as time consuming as a cam install. Thanks man, loving how the wheels came out.
Wheels look amazing. I’m really digging the tires too.
Tires are super nice. I'll see how they drive in a few days, so hopefully they perform as good as they look. Sounds like they should based on all the reviews I've seen and read.
Another great vid my friend. Can’t wait till you get those wheels on.
One last thing to do before it goes back on the ground. Then I can enjoy the car the rest of the year. Pumped about the wheels
Awesome job and a good DIY vid. New wheels look awesome too.
Thanks for the support as always. LOVE the new wheels, I just need to put a video out to show them lol.

That's the great thing about plastidip, peel it off and try a different color. Thanks for the support as always bro 🤘

Bummer to hear buddy. Not too bad of process, just not as easy as the front. Good luck
Looks killer. Good job

That sucks man. Good luck and hope the vids helps you out.
Bro...... I wasn’t sure how your color choice was going to look but wow killer
Dude I'll be honest, I thought the color looked badass but I didn't know how it would look against yellow... but I'm happy I did it. I love the look.

For now I'm just going to leave the MRR black center cap. I'm sure I'll color match it at some point, but I'm in no rush to do so.
Good work Dave! Didn't realize how much of a pain it was to do the rear wheel studs. Note to self: don't cross thread those 😅
Definitely don't lol. At least I know how to replace the rear bearing when the time comes.
oh hell yea man, looks great
Thanks buddy. Few more things to button up and she'll be done. Body is hurting lol

And the sizes were 265/35-18 and 305/30-19
Good video, question ? What tire size front and back do you have on your new wheels please?
Thanks for watching and the question. Front: 18x9.5 +50 -- 265/35-18
Rear: 19x11 +55 -- 305/30-19

Totally agree. I've never really worked on a car before this one, so I'm learning as I go. Fun process for sure.

Will this be the same for a c6 base?
I don't know for sure, but a lot of the C5 and C6 suspension is the same. Should be close enough at least

When’s the first car show?
April 24th, 12-4 @ Hamilton Tap & Grill in Hamilton, NJ. If you're in the area, come on out.
Guess it's time for some bigger brakes now that you have room for them.
Don't tempt me lol. I'm already eyeing up yellow C6Z brakes and they would look great
Note to self: Delete all wheel spacer links saved, buy a late model Panterra!
