    Something I wanted to say is to look for play on the shaft on the front & wear on the retainer sleeve.

      True. Every year that goes by means these T5s have more miles on them. Almost all need to be rebuilt.

      @@Dechon-wd2sq hard to find these days and most need repairs which can get expensive.

      Hard to find these days. Most have been grabbed up or crushed. Check FB Marketplace for someone parting out a 1993 or earlier S10 if you want one with a Muncie bolt pattern.

    Does the 4 cylinder s10 have the same transmission? 1986

      @@Bekind1980 If the truck came with a five speed and a four-cylinder engine in 1986, it would be a T5. However, some trucks were equipped with a T4 (four speed).

      Yes it's a 4cyl 5 speed

      @@Bekind1980 telltale signs of a T5 include the fin at the bottom of the tail housing and the bulge for fifth gear on the passenger side of the tail housing.
