Me too. I read an explanation by william barclay which makes most sense to me. Judas thought of Jesus only as a political messiah with hidden divine powers waiting to be revealed. He thought of speeding up the process by cornering Jesus using his enemies because he couldnt wait to be a prince in the new kingdom.

just remember, people were probably donating quite a bit for the cause, and Judas was in charge of the money! that means he probably was overseeing food and supplies, he may not have been around to see many of the miracles. just saying!

I received a deep revelation of this one:
Why when the Lord stated "one of you will betray me" why oh why, did Judas say "Lord is it I?"
Instead of...Lord may I speak to you...I've been stealing from you from Go! I've been doing this or that evil thing Have mercy on me and change me..help me Lord I am sorry"
Heat either hardens the clay...or purifies it..
Wonder what the outcome would have been with confession and repentance with that open window..the question/statement from Christ

Judas Iscariot was hoping to have a high rank beside Christ whom he thought will be the victorious King of Israel. Many elements led to Judas betrayal of Jesus.
1- He was a very proud Judean who had a lot of friends in the Sanhedrin which he was easily manipulated by them something that Jesus warned him about so many times.
2- He was a womanizer, a fornicator and on many occasions a drunken.
3- He had a love for money and power.
4- He never believed in the existence of Satan nor hell.
5- He was very smart what made Jesus assign him to takes care of the donated money and on so many occasions sending him ahead to pave the road for their arrival to preach or to rest and sleep.
6- In the 3rd year of Jesus' preaching, Judas started to frequently visits a magician that lived in a cave, who call upon spirits and the dark forces, Judas' purpose by doing so was to gain power which he started to lose after Christ gave it to His disciples to heal and perform miracles. The frequent visits was an open door for Satan himself to take over Judas, what caused his dramatic transformation into an evil and bad person filled with doubts, jealousy from the other disciples and hatred toward Christ that reached it's peak after Jesus started to show the real purpose of His mission, casting out the traders and merchants from the temple, exposing the Pharisees, the Saducees, etc... for what they really are and for their intentions and plans to kill Him.
Jesus didn't choose Judas to follow Him as a disciple, on the contrary Judas forced himself on Christ who didn't turn him down and accepted him as a disciple even though He knew from day one that he's the traitor. Jesus suffered a lot from and for Judas, trying to save him from himself and from the bad surrounding of friends in the temple and the Sanhedrin, Jesus loved this disciple so much, cried for Judas, begged him to change his path, He even fasted and prayed for 3 days in a cave for the sake of Judas. He begged the Father to save Judas from himself and from his fatal fate here on earth and beyond. But alas, he sold his soul to the evil one and what was written was written.

Except Judas did the same thing, knowing he was the one, to try to keep up appearances, but Jesus caught him in his words!
      But Jesus didn't arrest him.
I think that since the flood of Noah, God has given up trying to wrestle with man's flesh.
That's not too say that He has completely abandoned us. But now, if we want to make a genuine enquiry of God, we have to go to Him. And if we seek Him with all our hearts, we shall find Him. And He's a Rewarder of all those who believe that He Is, and diligently seek Him out.
Let's not be like Judas. He just was never properly genuine. He was a man with many secrets, dark secrets, sinister secrets. I think he didn't realise that the God who created the eyes of men can see, and the God who created the ears of men can hear, and the God who created the minds of men can know, and the God who created the hands of men can do, and that the God who created the feet of men can be everywhere at once.
I don't know what made him think he could get away with it. Jesus knew exactly where he was going with that money, even if the other disciples didn't. Did he really think that he was going to get away with it?
And yet, how much he characterises so many people today, even me sometimes. But thanks be to the God who justifies the ungodly by His Choice to offer up His Sinless Body and Perfect Humanity up as a free sacrifice for all mankind, so that whosoever wills may call upon Him and be saved.
      Hallelujah!

I'm looking for the answer: Did Jesus die for Judas? I'm not justifying the actions of Judas, I desire to rid myself of betrayals, seductions, and wickedness that I committed in my past and am still afflicted with today... even though I call myself a believer. In Mark , Jesus speaking of Judas said it would be better of that man if he had never been born. I have wondered this of myself. I wish I could go back and speak to that foolish young man before he would make a bunch of bad decisions, that were to follow him the rest of his life.

Judas could’ve had one of the best testimonies, but he didn’t. Why? Because he hanged himself.
This is the guy who thought he was helping, getting Jesus put somewhere safe, he didn’t know they were going to put him on trial and kill him. The famous 30 pieces of silver? He threw them back at the men who gave them to him.
Think of that testimony. I screwed up and it led to the death of Jesus, but this is what God used me to do afterwards…
Judas’s sin was killing himself before God had the chance to use him to spread the word.
Remember Jonah fled from what god wanted, he got picked up by a whale and dumped back where he was supposed to be.
Lot’s wife turned into a pillar of salt. A holy priest carrying the Arc of the covenant, slipped and touched it was immediately killed. God doesn’t mess around, but he gave us free will. He reveals himself to us over time, Judas cut himself off from that by taking his free will and ending his own life without stopping to pray or think. If anything that is what he did wrong.
His intentions were good, but he was deceived. So don’t condemn him as evil, he wasn’t. Remember it was Thomas who doubted Jesus not Judas, and Thomas got the greatest honour of touching the wounds and seeing/feeling Jesus was resurrected. So if the guy who was always thinking “hmm not sure about this” goes on to receive evidence that wipes his uncertainty away, what could he have done with Judas. Remember the denial of knowing Christ until the cock crowed, he didn’t do that. He didn’t run away when they were arresting Jesus, he went and faced the men who had fooled him.
It’s not always what you think.
We can’t question God, but we should respect the fact he gave us free will. The freedom to choose. How many people do you know who want God on their shoulder saying “don’t do that” when you want to order a take away…
Just stop and think about things.
Jesus never condemned anyone, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone” he tells us all the time we are not the ultimate judge, God is.
Now, sit down and think of Enoch. Right at the start of the bible, all we know is what it says “Enoch walked with God all his life, so God did not give him death”. Isn’t that fascinating. We know nothing else about the guy, no testimony, no story, just that God decided he should not experience death or the separation from God that briefly brings. In that moment of Death even Jesus cried out to God. Yet God never put Enoch through that… that’s interesting and something to ponder.

    So with that in mind
That God planned to sacrifice his only son, at the beginning of time.

So if he planned everything from the very beginning of time,
Why make man, to stumble and fall? What's the lesson that we must learn to be right with God? My question is
Am i ever going to prove that i learned that lesson, or will we ( i ) doomed to repeat my lessons until I get smart enough to catch on?

God does everything to display his glory. He told Pharaoh, "for this very reason I raised you up, that I might show my power in destroying you" Romans 9:17. Paul also says, "God has bound all men over to disobedience, so that he might have mercy on them all." Romans 11:32. Paul dwelves deep into God's attributes in Romans and you can see a lot of our common philosophical questions about God answered there.
The lesson we can glean from all this is God is sovereign over all things including us and we should worship him as such. He wants to demonstrate his mercy and grace and unending love towards us through the sacrifice of his son Jesus. He does not require you to do any deeds in order to be right with him. All he commands you to do is put your faith in his Son whom he sacrificed on your behalf on the cross. He is more than eager to display his love by forgiving you of all sins once and for all if you believe. If you dont believe and continue in your sins, he will display his strength in your destruction on judgement day. God is both merciful and just. Just like with Paul and the Pharaoh, it is up to us how our lives will glorify him in the end.

So strange to me how anyone can say they're a believer and in the same breath say that God knows everything but in the same breath try to give examples of things God didn't know was going to happen... With god'unique love, mercy , compassion, we can all be saved if we can try to be honest, good to each other. PREACHERS WHO CONDEMNED JUDAS TO HELL OUGHT TO THINK ABOUT THEMSELVES. HI
The Last Supper couldn't have been a Seder. Where was the lamb? The Gospel of John clears it up. ' It was BEFORE the feast.'= The Last Supper, ' When next I drink of this wine I will drink it anew in the Kingdom of God' [ The Marriage Supper of the Lamb] And don't forget Jesus/ Yeshua, WAS the Passover Lamb! So He had to die when all the lambs were being slaughtered on the eve[ 3pm] of the 14th of Nisan, which is when He expired on the cross. The Pharisees also wanted to kill Jesus before the Feast, lest there be a riot! This is mentioned in the Gospel of Mark. The Pagan Gregorian calendar feasts like 'Easter'[ Goddess Astarte] are to be repented of. Yeshua/ Jesus is only fulfilling YHWH's luni/solar Prophetic Feasts calendar. Shalom to you in Christ Yeshua.

@Tommie Anderson - I think the same thing. So if it was gods will then and we could say that god created Judas for this purpose then would Judas’s soul be in hell, as he had no choice but to betray him? In essence that was his programming I suppose you could say. It makes you think that people that are considered evil are by gods will. Therefore why are souls sent to hell, why punish a soul for something they were predefined todo?

God would do this again and again for an eternity, despite Judas ' choice every time through an eternity..why? Because God is love and never changes, constantly the same; The same invitation we all have today. And our fate is in our hands, according to our free will. Did "John" know for a fact that Judas was a thief, and therefore not concerned about helping the poor instead of washing Jesus' feet? Proper interpretation. You use scripture to interpret scripture. It would have been better if Judas was never born if he never trusted christ. The bible says worship him in spirit and truth. Judas maybe baby believer was like the baby Christians who weren't strong enough to eat food sacrificed to idols. So he hung himself. Maybe he trusted christ before that final minute. Jesus didnt want to feed the hungry he just wanted to sleep and were all questioned the sovereignty of God. Why bad things happen to good people. So seeing jesus who didnt want to feed the poor now pouring expensive oil on his feet. Who wouldn't question who he was. And also like a benny hinn sevice not healing the blind man right away. But bottom line God was pleased with Jesus wether you like him or not. Jesus said he would tell them things but they couldnt bare them now. When he comes. Refering to Paul. The faith alone doctrine. The bible gives the struggle from start to finish. Of faith alone. From Adam and Eve. Clothing themselves with fig leaves wich could be quit itchy. To God clothing them with the animal. Wich represented Christ the lamb. To hosea the profitvwho couldn't make his mind up. Clothed in his own righteousness to God's righteousness. From Moses who struck the rock twice wich represented faith in christ the one lifted up more than once. He resacrificed christ in his heart for his sins. Just a example of not living in peace on earth. To the idiot who misunderstood God and wanted to sacrifice his son but God made away of escape. God can still make that wich is unclean clean and a good story. You have the prophet Isaiah who am said even the anguish of christ pleased God. Christ in his hour is the coin for sin debt. All sins past present future with no gaps. Faith is the key to receive this gift. Your faith doesnt save you but he saves you because you place your faith in christ for your sins. If I miss a quote still point made

None of these presenters acknowledged the fact that Jesus said he had preserved all the apostles save one (the son of perdition) so that the scriptures might be fulfilled. Judas’s fate was sealed the moment he was born because Jesus had proclaimed that it would have been better had he never been born. If that is truly the case, then he never had the opportunity to repent, because if he had done so, he obviously would have gone to heaven.

    • @legomeego8581

@From the Futon So you are saying it had to be somebody but it just happened to be Judas? What part of Jesus picking Judas knowing he was a devil and knowing he would be betrayed by him do you not understand? Jesus also said that he saved all but one (apostle) so that prophecy could be fulfilled! It’s all there in the bible, just read it for yourself. Read Romans 9 if you want to know about God’s will for unrepentant sinners. Some vessels he made for glory but others as vessels of his wrath like Judas. He was known as the son of perdition or the one ‘doomed’ to destruction. Being doomed with no hope is a form of predestination. It’s especially poignant when Jesus emphasized that it would have been better for him to never been born than to carry out his ultimate destiny in hell by inevitably betraying Christ. Jesus could have not chosen Judas but he did so, so that ‘prophecy could be fulfilled’. Even if it was some random guy, that doesn’t change the fact that it had to be someone and that someone had to be ‘doomed to destruction’.
Romans 9:18 So then He has mercy on whomever He wills (chooses) and He hardens (makes stubborn and unyielding the heart of) whomever He wills.
Romans 9:19 You will say to me, Why then does He still find fault and blame us [for sinning]? For who can resist and withstand His will?
Romans 9:20 But who are you, a mere man, to criticize and contradict and answer back to God? Will what is formed say to him that formed it, Why have you made me thus? [Isa. 29:16; 45:9.]
Romans 9:21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same mass (lump) one vessel for beauty and distinction and honorable use, and another for menial or ignoble and dishonorable use? Romans 9:22 What if God, although fully intending to show [the awfulness of] His wrath and to make known His power and authority, has tolerated with much patience the vessels (objects) of [His] anger which are ripe for destruction? [Prov. 16:4.]

Jesus came for the lose house of Israel. The perfect sacrifice was to present the evils committed by man. Jacob sons did equally the same to Joseph

In gospel of john 6:70, jesus says, and one of you is a devil. Someone had to fulfill prophecy of psalm chapter 41, my familiar friend in whom I trusted, which did eat my bread, hath Lifted his heel against me. Judas is kenite to start with, God knows all of his children, psalm 918, Our Secret sins in light of thy countenance. God knows our motives, our desires, their are no secrets with God. I dont believe he was forced, it's no accident he was their, the motive and desires played major factor. . Isaiah chapter 45, Cyrus of Persia was appointed by God, it was no accident, take down nations. What's my point . At fixed time God put Cyrus as Persian king to fulfill his Will, Judas was born at fixed time and played part in prophecy.

Study this. Judas was a Canaanite ! He may have had the seed of Satan in him ! What does that mean.... think about it. ... Jesus did call him a devil. John 6:70-71 KJV

@@quad7375 When did Jesus say Peter was Satan??

It surprises me that so far no one has apparently bothered to simply ask the most basic of questions: Why would the Sanhedrin pay Judas such a princely sum... to point out someone they already KNEW well? Yes... you heard me right. In all THREE Synoptic Gospels, Jesus, Himself, points out to the arrest party that they had all SEEN Him teaching daily in the Temple... and had been WITH HIM as He taught (?!):
"Jesus said to them, 'Have you come with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? DAY AFTER DAY I WAS WITH YOU, teaching in the temple courts, yet you did not arrest me.'"
    (Mark 14:48-49, Matt 26:55, Luke 22:53)
Thus... They KNEW Him, already! Jesus RECOGNIZED them all... and knew THEY recognized Him. So....... what did it matter whether Judas was there or not to "kiss" Him and point Him out? And why would they pay Judas anything to do so? The simple Truth here is this: There was no "Judas Kiss"... there was no Judas "betrayal"... and there probably was no Judas, period. Instead... the Judas story was later concocted to HIDE the truth regarding those who really DID betray Jesus by testifying against Him at His trial before the Sanhedrin... to save their own skins.
Wanna take a guess who those real betrayers were? Here's a hint: Peter wasn't seated with the guards outside Jesus's trial, unable to leave as people kept recognizing him, 'cuz they were all such great buddies.
Think about it... take all the time you need. ;)

@From the Futon -- Oh? Where in Gnosticism do you find such views?

    • @FatherVampire
      @FatherVampire 2 года назад

@From the Futon ... Ah, I see where you're coming from now. But no... I'm not claiming any "secret knowledge" has been "revealed" to me... quite the opposite, in fact. I'm pointing out what is hidden in plain sight right there in the Gospels that nobody realizes even after 2,000 years. Imagine a huge "Where's Waldo" puzzle that's gone unsolved for 2,000 years because no one takes off their Belief-tinted glasses long enough to critically examine what's right there before them... and has been all this time! That's right! There's Waldo waving at us... and to see him, all ya gotta do is look! Yet everyone prefers to not look, not reason, not apply logic but, instead, attack the person pointing him out. Classic belief-driven dogmatic mindset.
Same with Galileo who, looking through his telescope, clearly saw the moons of Jupiter orbiting that planet, clearly proving that the Earth is NOT the center of the Universe, as the Religious quacks of his day insisted was the case. And yet, despite his reasoning, despite his simply asking them to LOOK and see the evidence for themselves... all they did was likewise refuse to consider the evidences and, instead, condemned him as a heretic.
I abhor Belief and all its Religions, "paths" and "-isms." Instead, I'm simply following the evidences -- sans preconceived prepackaged beliefs -- and extrapolating therefrom the glaringly obvious explanations using Reason and Logic... and presenting them for others to critically consider. That's it.
As for my name... if anything, it's a rather ironic and deliberate choice given I abhor Belief and Religion... and chose that moniker in part to further that point through the seeming polar-opposite dichotomy inherent in the two names. As my moniker reflects: I am the Ultimate "Heretic" forever flying in the face of Belief and its closed-minded blindness through the careful employment of Reason made wholly dependent on the facts and evidences. I'm not claiming to always be right, for I welcome well-evidenced, well-reasoned rebuttals. But at least I'm trying. :)

    • @FatherVampire
      @FatherVampire 2 года назад

@From the Futon Ah, yes... the last resort of the intellectually bankrupt: Ad Hominem attack. You can't think, you can't reason and you can't counter the scriptural and historical evidences provided... so, you windmill wild accusations and false demonizations at me hoping thereby to achieve some sort of "knockout" without having to engage in an actual intellectual discussion you know you don't have the brain power to attempt.
Yeah... for one thinking he avoided "biting the lure," you bit down on my troll lure hard! And with your true troll colors now clearly in evidence for all to see, I'm done with you. Thanks for "playing." Buh-bye, now. :D
