Just 2 pieces with other base game armor can give you close to 70 poise
I went through the whole dlc for the second time going with solitude set and gs build and the parry tear. I never did so much damage as a tank build
@@svetlanathehammer1984 after you get that armor you never get off.
Fun fact, you can use Blinkbolt to dodge Malenias Waterfowl dance and then stagger her with R2 right after. Does pretty decent damage.
Which weapon are you using Blink bolt on?

Am playing a very fun Str/Arc build in NG+ with a VERY satisfying combo. Powerstancing a blood and poison backhand blade (the C str scaling on these infusions scales pretty well to 50-60 str even), and the meteoric ore greatsword. Rot exultation, Lord of blood and alexanders talismans. You start with the blades, build up status and poise dmg, proc exultation and LoB and switch to Ore Blade and hit the AoW for even more massive dmg with the AR buffs and get a poise break. I personally have an additional weapon with Poison Flower Blooms Twice to detonate the poison and execute. This combo also works exceptionally well with incantations, as with 30 faith you can have some of the heaviest hitters (Dragon Maw, Burn O flame, Ancient Lightning, pest spears etc) that are buffed with the talisman procs.
How are you using backhand blade with a Str/Arc build when the backhand blade scales with Dex?

Now, hold up, the Fire Knight Greatsword isn't a greatsword, it's a Colossal Sword.
The true most powerful standard Greatsword is the LIZARD Greatsword. That thing is ridiculous.

@@biel7015 shoots out it's tongue as a projectile on charged heavy attacks, not only that, but the projectile inflicts any status effect you have it buffed with...

@@biel7015 Great AR, low weight, low stat reqs, massive range and status on the strong (ranged shot, the tongue is a projectile) combo, can be infused (no buff/enchantment ashes, but it can use Carian Grandeur so who cares)... Pretty much everything. And it's easy to farm.
Greatsword of solitude, that ash of war may not be the strongest, but its soooo reliable
I used the black steel hammer for the majority of the dlc, but with Bloodhound step.
I feel like having 3 damage types on a weapon is going to net you less damage after it’s applied thru the enemy resistance vs jsut making the new hammer sacred.
Sword of nights ashe of war is unblockable so I think this will be a PVP weapon for countering turtle builds.
Greatsword of solitude and armor is my favorite looking sword and armor and my 2nd favorite weapon
Finally, it's good to see someone talk about the wacky damage of the anvil hammer, 100% carried me for the first half of the dlc
With the falx if you hit b xbox o playstation and r2 at the same time you do a back flip and a follow up r1 you basically do the same move as bloodbound fang

I really, really, really appreciate how creative they were with the weapons. Like everyone weapons is so fucking cool? I'm not gonna use all of them, but I am super happy someone else will find joy in these unique weapons.
yeah I thought it was weird why holy has higher AR for the fire knights greatsword then flame arts. Thought I was going insane

The twin axes need hyperarmor or a boost in stagger, having dudes get hit by the dash and 2 of the initial swings so much as sneezing and knocking me out of the animation is just plain rude

The black steel hammer is bugged and doesn't drop if you don't update the game.
I'd like to point you'd want to use the axe talisman with the chicken leg, not the godfrey icon.

Did you know that if you hold down on your d pad it will go straight to your flask? Same thing for other d pad functions with items or spells set to the first slot. You're welcome.

Anvil Hammer was a mistake LMAO. Should be called trunk hammer 9999.
You have to post what level your character is. I can't gauge how good the weapon is if I have no idea what level your character is. This kind of damage is very hard to build for at lv.150, when you already need 60 vitality and however much endurance to carry all your gear.
Savage Lions Claw is a straight up upgrade to regular i dont understand how people cant see that.
deals less poise damage even if all hits connect, people think it also gives enemies more opportunities to evade or interrupt them.

@@RazielWraith Thats straight up a lie i tested it myself full savage is more stance damage.
@@MrJade12 its actually the same amount of stance damage if both strikes of savage hit and if both hit savage will do more damage, however the downside is that its not as consistent as the OG especially in the dlc with faster bosses so you way more likely to miss on the 2nd swing, and if you do miss the 1st swing does less than half stance damage than the OG.

The weapon that should scale with Intelligence scales with Arcane but the weapon that should scale with Arcane scales with Dex, FromSoft logic
Messmer Soldier's Spear is the best great spear in the game. 137 bleed on bleed infusion and the same move set as the tree spear. Charged R2 hits twice. It's barely slower than regular spears.

The backhand blade definitely helped me a lot (for the first few hours) since I was using an arcane build
Yeah sword of night most definitely needs a buff it tbh sucks ik it hits through shields but so do some ashes of war im not even a fan of katanas in this game but it deserves better for how cool it is
I really thought it would have a stance L2 after seeing Jolan use it. Instead you just stand in place while it takes a billion years to charge up

@@dotta4763 doesn’t he test one messmer, rellana, and lion dance, can’t remember if it was just those 3 or if there were more/less but I know rellana and lion for sure

No. If the weapon can't knock back or stun then it's junk. Any weapon can kill those little dark, spirit ,zombie ,dudes. Now test weapons against them horn creatures

There are plenty of fun and viable weapons that don't rely on stunlocking. Don't be boring.
My personal opinion is that if you have to rely on overly buffing just for damage then it’s not really a good weapon or build in general. A good build or weapon can stand on it’s on without being over buffed. Like the fire knight seal is pretty bad on it’s on but becomes okay when you use armor and spells that cater to its niche like using Mesmer and FireKnight skills as a example to get a optimal build

Most of this is going to be useless when the nerf comes.
The only things that need nerfs are Rolling Sparks and maybe Bloodfiend's Arm.
If anything I think some buffs are coming in the next patch.
Blink bolt is a total disappointment. Honestly most of the new weapons are a major disappointment. The backhand blades suck, everything but the throwing hammer suck, the remembrance weapons are legit ass. The spell and incantations are all under powered. I hate how much everyone hyped this up, not to actually hold the game to a high standard, but because content creators know that elden ring releases equal big money to them if they show some item or build or secret location first. Capitalism is literally the death of high standards.

I do agree on 10% of your point, most of remembrance weapons do suck. But isn't it the same with base game when you have like a couple that are decent?
