After being married for right at 52 years my wife and i love each others cooking. The next chapter of our lives can only get better. My wife has been ill for 7 years. Newport TN is where the tiny house village is!
We live in Outdoor Resorts at Gatlinburg and most of the stores in Newport are easier to get to than anything in Sevier County. The Walmart and Lowes especially. I was surprised to see a RUclips video a few years ago that stated Newport was the most dangerous city in TN. Being from Memphis, I know that's not true. There are many nice small communities in East TN and Newport is one. It may not be what it once was, but it could be again.

We just bought a new home in Newport Tennessee, my wife and I love Newport Tennessee, we sit on two acres with 360 degree mountain views. My wife and I are from Canton Ohio, and will be moving there when I retire. Our new home is located on O'Neil road . My wife and I follow you, Quite a bit, we enjoy your videos. So glad that you took us along to Newport, TN. I’m a fan of the Moonshiners television show featuring Eric “Digger” Manes and Mark Ramsey. It was neat for you to show us the location of their downtown hangout in Newport. I’m surprised that Karen didn’t shop at the original Fruit Jar Alley store which is owned by Digger’s wife Allison. Newport and Cocke County, TN were originally settled as a river trading hub located on the edge of the Appalachian frontier. It had a reputation for lawlessness and had several popular saloons. During the civil war, this area was raided frequently by both the Confederate and Union army troops. A good deal of the annual corn crop from this area has been used to distill illegal moonshine liquor in the mountains and hollers of Cocke County. Digger and Mark are two moonshiners who base their recipes for corn liquor on those of their ancestors. Newport has been known for sometime as a moonshine hot spot in the south. Digger and Mark worked under the legendary moonshiner Popcorn Sutton. Thanks to Friday’s Forever for the visit to Newport, TN.

We live on the east side of Sevierville...just round the bend from Newport. We love Newport. It's a sweet local town that caters to locals...not fancy...down home...real folks. Sometimes rather than deal with the hustle and bustle of Sevierville or Pigeon Forge we go to Newport. Love Fruit Jar Alley and have met Eric (Digger) there many times. When my parents were living we were trying to find a home for them there, but the Lord took them home. Always love your fireside chats and biblical applications. Diggers Family owns that whole building as well as Manes Funeral Home. Brooks preached his first funeral at Manes Funeral Home.

My daughter ordered the Solo stove. We haven't tried the small tabletop yet. We may have to do that this weekend when we're camping. We've cooked cinnamon rolls and biscuits and even made gravy on our Blackstone griddle. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

Hi Mike and Karen, recently just found your lovely channel. I have truly enjoyed watching new and older videos. I had to giggle at you eating that cheesecake. It made me think of an old folktale- eat your pie backwards and make a wish on the pointed end. I’m 67 and think about it every time I eat pie. I lived in Newport Tn for 35 years, I also used to live 3 buildings below the Fruit jar Alley. Newport isn't as bad as people say it is. I've never once got into any kind of trouble living in Newport. It all depends on who you associate & hang around with.

Discovered your channel the other day with your Mountain City, TN video. My mother lives in Elizabethton, TN, and it's a beautiful area. When I visit family in Tennessee and drive back home to Ohio, I alway's pull off 23 in Virginia at Powell Valley Overlook.

I got to tell you my wife and I would love to be able to set down right where you are and enjoy a cheese cake or a hot dog and chili and o my a wood fire 🔥 . We want to go camping and travel so bad but we can’t be around the wood smoke and every campground is full of smoke we can’t eat anything with sugar or anything Processed a normal life for a few hours would be so fun but we would get sick and it just will never happen . God has a plan I’m not sure what it is it really hurts our relationship together it’s so hard to laugh and smile and have a carefree time when everything you react to try’s to kill you . But I live the feeling in your videos and are so happy for you in every way your wife is so nice and a wonderful smile and you sir are a wonderful gentleman . Enjoy every moment of your life with your beautiful wife thank you for sharing your story with us . God has blessed us with a super busy business and we stay so busy we don’t think about all the stuff we can’t do all the time and that’s what saves us I think . anxiety and depression will over take us some day but we fight it off as much as possible I pray for safe travels for you and great adventures keep the simple life coming I love watching 🙏🙏👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
