In my eyes you are the most serious smartphone reviewer. No needless blah blah. Just cutting to the chase, pinpointing pros and cons and illuminating the viewer with what he should really know. Keep up.Congrats.
This is hands down the most thorough and comprehensive review I've ever seen. Thank you for this. I hope I like my G4 when I get it in a couple of days - thank you:).
+mostcallmerob Having switched from a Samsung 4 to this, the video quality of the G4 is easily the inferior of the two...really disappointing in comparison, actually. Much duller in color and nowhere near as crisp. And again, that's comparing it to the SG4!!!! I had a heck of a time finding a reasonable case for this phone, too, because I got the leather version and not all available cases fit both versions of the phone. Finally found a perfect case for it from Tech21: Evo Tactical. Not the most gorgeous case in the world but it's thin and sturdy and I trust it will protect my phone well (I don't recommend getting it in the Verizon store! They sell it for $45-$50 but I found it on Ebay for $20! And even the Tech21 site sells it for $40). I'd complain that the phone is just too big but I knew that going in so I'll keep that to myself. It performs well overall, though it can get a little warm while playing games. To be honest, the real reason I decided to keep it was because it was super important for me to be able to switch out my battery on the fly (and use my SD card), because I hate having to depend on a wall plug (another plus on the case mentioned above: not a pain to remove/put on). With normal use, though: browsing, playing some simple games, I can get a full day's use out of it (5:30 a.m. - 8:00 - 10:00 p.m.). Oh, one more bummer is that I can't view my phone horizontally if I've got sunglasses on:\. Apparently the screen is polarized and basically looks black when turned sideways with sunglasses on. Pretty ridiculous actually - especially in the dead of summer LOL! Why do you ask? Were you thinking about getting it or did you already get it? I was surprised to see that two of the Verizon employees who were helping me when I went into the store about another phone on my plan both had the G4 and not an Iphone or the Samsung 6. That's how I found out about the case.
+Jessika TPQ Thanks a lot for the awesome and thorough response! I'm currently up in the air about whether or not I want to pick up an S6 or G4 for my next phone. I currently am using an S4 running Liquidsmooth ROM and the phone is pretty beat up so it's time for an upgrade. Overall, from all the videos and content I've been reading a lot of people lean toward the G4 as the better overall phone, but many seem to still like the S6. Having the S4, I really like the removable battery and microSD card, so going to the G4 would be a benefit in that sense. I like the feel and look of the S6 a lot though too, even though the G4 with leather back looks very nice. Both phones are great in their own ways, I'm just unsure which one I want to commit to.
+mostcallmerob You're so welcome:). See, you were thinking like I was: switching from the SG4, which I loved actually, and now kind of miss LOL to the G4 made sense to me; it was an upgrade but still "comfortable" enough to not feel like too huge of a change. One thing I would NOT recommend getting is the S6 EDGE - My husband got that and it's been a headache and a half to deal with. The bottom half of the screen literally just stopped working altogether after changing to a different Theme (specifically, after being able to pick a theme and hit apply, when trying to go back to the original theme, the apply option just flat out disappeared), and we had to get a replacement. Sometimes he could text/email when the phone was vertical, sometimes he couldn't (and that was from the JUMP!). We had to leave his replacement and old phone at the Verizon store for SIX HOURS yesterday just to get them to transfer his pictures. When I went to pick it up, they still hadn't transferred his contacts or gotten his Cloud account to load; it was crazy. I don't expect that the Samsung 6 would have these issues; they're usually pretty reliable. I think the Edge screen was just something they haven't perfected yet. BUT, it's tough trying to decide if you really want/need that access to the battery and microSD slot. I am actually kind of surprised at how the LG is getting such consistently rave reviews, even when compared to the SG6, particularly in the video/camera quality...makes a person wonder. Not to say it's a BAD phone, but, the disparity between them when it comes to video quality is pretty huge in my opinion and I haven't really seen anyone point that out to the extent that I believe it should be. That's enough rambling from me:). I hope you make a decision that makes you super happy:). Good luck!
+mostcallmerob hi! if you want to decide between the two phones just go for a) size! which do you like better? i like the s6 better but the g4 is fine for me too, it's still a good size for me. b) are you using it for two years or more? i'm going to use my phone for longer so i need to probably replace stuff. if you are replacing your s6 in 2 years anyways, its a good option. that's assuming you get 2 years of replacement, if something is broken. c) sd-card-slot, same issue. do you save a lot of stuff on your phone? i do. movies, pics from 3 years ago and more etc. if you dont, you dont need an sd card (or the bigger storage s6). if you are fine with 32gb, go for the s6. d) dont value other stuff that heavily (that's my opinion). i have watched countless reviews now trying to decide what phone to get. there are a lot of opinions and they differ a lot. the main differences are listed above. though the s6 has more stuff to offer on paper (more cores (not really relevant), brighter screen (sometimes a good thing), oversaturation on color (people think that makes stuff a lot prettier, which is nice, lg keeps to movie standards) and a lot more small stuff. i think the s6 is the better phone for phone-junkies, who are getting a new phone every year or two, because it has some premium stuff that i dont really value a lot. (its a great choice, i almost got it) my choice depended on a) b) and c) above and i got the LG over the s6, just becaue i dont see the reason for paying a lot of money for storage upgrades or that i will need to replace my battery somewhere in the future (maybe 3-4 years, if i'm lucky) and i cant. android makes the phones pretty similar since you can do what your apps can do - so dont value the small stuff too heavily. have fun with your phone.
Thank you very much for this flawless review! I've just purchased this new phone and learned a lot of its hidden features, thanks to you. Some other reviews from other channels are either too short or too long. You've managed to obtain the perfect balance as far as time is concerned, and nailed what was really important to include in your review. Good work, and great day to you.
***** Please, could you check if there is any fixed limitation on recording time in UHD mode? I wish, I could record as much as memory on microSDXC card fits that. HTC's and Samsung's flagships have 5-10minutes fixed limitation.
In the last few days I've spent quite a lot of time watching reviews on this device, and I've got to say that yours is by far the best out there. You covered everything there is to cover and did so objectively, for the most part. Keep up the good work!
Finally someone who agrees with me about removable battery. I always say what if your battery dies on you and I don't mean needs a recharge but completely dies on you that you need a brand new battery? You can't do that with a non removable batteries you either have to get it replaced with a new one if you have it under warranty with your cellphone company or have to buy a brand new smartphone. I don't want to do it so I always prefer to have a smartphone with a removable battery so if the battery completely dies on me I can go to the store and buy a new one.
briansivley2001 You definitely dont need to buy a brand new smartphone. First off its really rare for a battery to die on you, and it either (usually) happens quickly after you acquire the phone (bad from factory) or really long time afterwards (long use). If the earlier happens, you use your warranty, if the latter happens, you can get it replaced in some technology stores that take care of it. It will cost you money, how much depends on the model, but its definitely cheaper than buying a new phone. Removable battery is a luxury in my eyes, not a requierement. I do support microsd though, thats very useful and practical. Also, while the new S6 is great in many, many aspects, and its aesthetics are original, I was dissapointed when they announced it wouldnt be water and dust resistent like the S5 was though. But get that back, and micro sd, and you have a perfect phone :D
Lucas Ezequiel what do you find original about the s6 asthetics if it emulates the sony Z series and the iphone? I appreciate what each phone manufacurer offers. However Samsung seems to be so focused on its battle with apple that the manufacturer's personal touch is beginning to fade. Consumers need to constantly be reminded of the competitive diferences between other market options. The key is "differences", not so similar that over time the lines become blurred.
Str8TrutH For once the glass sandwich. Yes it emulates the iphone (since the s3, so thats now news) but it doesnt have a unibody like the iphone 6, nor does the camera lens hide inside the phone. I love the glass back idea. Even though when I made the comment I was thinking on the Edge, and its obvius differences with the rest of the phones.
Wow...what a review, it's like watching a walkthrough video on ps4 games haha, anyway, would you still recommend this phone this October 2016? Thanks man, subscribed!
Rod 29 if you're not into rooting and installing other Roms, then get it, but I would get samsung s7, I'm bored of the g4 in the first 6 months, that's because my Canadian g4 has locked bootloader and no root for new Android. This was my first LG and my last, just for that reason.
Best review I've seen of this phone bar none. You covered the most stuff because all ppl seem to do now a days is read spec sheets and do speed tests that don't reflect the experience. U actually showed how to use the interface. Awesome. Think I'm convinced now I can turn in my iPhone6 and get this instead of the S6.
AWESOME JOB!!! This is the first of your videos/reviews that I have seen and I am now a FAITHFUL FOLLOWER!!! The detail you put into your review is amazingly helpful and, in my opinion, what a review should be :) The way you went over every individual detail of the phone is what interested consumers need to see if they are doing serious research. In fact, all of the browsing I did online and the hours I spent looking at different video, write-ups, and reviews of the G4 did not satisfy my questions of "Do I for sure want this phone, and what are the take backs and the positives compared to X phone?" Your attention to detail is spot on, and a review that is this thought-out is deserving of the crisp 4K resolution you recorded in. Also, the work you put into the review, especially to help better-educate the viewer, is easily seen and makes you stand out from any other reviewer. So often do reviewers nowadays tend to just talk about a few key features that every other person is talking about. Or say, "Hey, the software and design and all this is pretty much exactly what I talked about in the G3 review so go watch that to hear about it", yet that doesn't satisfy the viewer to the fullest because those details are not tailored specifically to the phone in the current review. Will it be repetitive sometimes? Yes, companies don't always change things up, but each product is itself and a review of said product should be focused on that product and not rely on another phone's review for 'key' info. It is refreshing to see a reviewer like yourself who puts in the time to go over all the features and functionality in-depth, not just glaze over the top. And your extensive coverage of software features is, from what I've seen, unrivaled! I love that you went over the software aspect of the phone because software is the most important, core part of a phone. The software is what you interact with and many would just say " Oh you can do this now", but you laid out how to do "this" and every other software feature hidden in every nook and cranny of the OS and did so with detail. Awesome! This review could basically be a tutorial for how to use the phone as well, and that's what I love. If I, as a viewer, want to know where to put my money, the review that I watch will not be the short quick review that's under 10 or 5 minutes or whatever because most people's attention span lasts that long, it will be the review that truly makes me feel in-touch with the phone as if I have used it enough to understand it from every aspect. You are the smart consumer's reviewer and I hope to see you stay that way! I will surely stick with you as my go-to source from now on and can't wait to see you future content. Also, I will tell my friends all about you because there is no informer I have seen that is so detailed as yourself!! Keep it up and thanks for the great video :) -A & B Community-Bailey (from RUclips-hopefully I grow to meet you in person someday)
I'm thinking about to buy a new phone and this G4 would be the chosen one. Is it good?!? Under 350€, what phone would you recomend to buy!?? Any suggestions ?!? Thanks !!!
Yes, the G4 is definitely worth buying for that price. I dont know how much Moto X style is in EU but it would also be a good option if you can get it at good price. x style 32gb costs $350 from their site here in US.
Your reviews are so detailed - amazing! How can you tell so many things about this glass/plastic/metal things. If I was to buy any new phone to see your review prior is a must. Top man.
But your OnePlus is a little less impressive with a Full HD screen resolution and while the G4 has a Quad HD resolution pushing more PPI to the limits.
i'm a loyal LG phone user. i started using LG phone during their L series and since then i fall in love with LG. Very good hardware, will really last long as long as you take good care of it. in fact until now im still using my L3. I've been using G2 for a year now and havent had any major issues with it. I can't wait for my G4 to be delivered next week. 😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️ Good job LG, indeed, Life is Good. 😊❤️
Ive just done an upgrade on my contract, was torn between the S6, Z3 or the G4.....after numerous hours you tubing, this unboxing/ review helped me pick the LG G4 can't wait ....
+young mouss Imagine it like this. The LG skin is how Touchwiz hoped to be but it never got to the standard. LG is really killing it with their near to stock android skin but let's you customise the UI and doesn't let you get bored of your phone. I feel like that's a really good selling point for big phones like this with QHD displays. You wanna get the most out of them for sure.
Thank you for this video!! I've been searching youtube for days in search of a G4 video that did more than repeat the same damn specs over and OVER again. You actually went into all the software and nitty-gritty features which people want to know before they buy a phone. Subscribing! Thanks, again
Very Good Review. The reviewer has touched some more points which I didn't see in any other review of Lg G4. I am going to have it within 2/3 days and I can't suppress my excitement regarding the Lg G4 any more!
just ordered my G4 yesterday!! I been using LG for the longest and I almost convinced myself to switch to Apple iPhone but glad I didn't! I'm excited for my G4, great review by the way.
Lol don't even switch from Android to iOS. Especially if you're about to get stuck on a 2 year contract. That's literally the worst downgrade in history 😂.
Its your review that is always the deciding factor for me to buy a phone and your review of LG G4 is the best. LG G4 is way more awesome than other smartphones. Wow LG rocks.
Great video! you talk so fast and get a lot of coverage of the phone in the time allotted, it is appreciated. All the pictures came out very good and it seems to have a pretty good camera. Thanks for the review.
That was a really sweet review! I saw this phone on display today and tried it a few times.. I was enticed so here I am, watching your video. Your review made it clearer that I shouldn't get an S6. Thank you!
I so want this phone. Because of that want I have watched video after video. Yours has been by far the most indepth. Thank you and keep up the great work my fellow Michigander!
All the good stuff packed into this phone! 16 MP f/1.8 wide aperture rear and 8 MP front camera + QHD Quantum IPS display + removable back and battery + expandable memory via micro SD card + fast charging technology + elegant design. LG G4 is definitely a smartphone killer!
I like how LG is trying to come up new cosmetic designs to make it a beautiful monster.. I also liked the complete manual feature of the flagship's camera which shows that LGG4 can also do what a DSLR does... All the features and the user experience bundle up to bring a well deserving competetive flagship killer :)
I like the camera and the volume buttons on the back which allows us to take selfies without touching the screen and I also like the IR Blaster so I can control our TV
Lol definitely the best camera right now. I am craving this phone so much that if I was a girl id probably need to change my panties. (I know it's a weird way of looking at it but hey I have a true passion for this phone right now - leave a man be alright)
This is the best review i have ever seen for LG4
uzair shariff Thanks!

true that.
Finally here great job Mike! Absolutely loving my G4!
When is the review coming Phil?
Ayush Abhinav Next week. :)
Awesome ... :)
Phil Vierno Thanks Phil, the G4 is definitely one of the greats this year. The camera is absolutely killer.
***** That's what I'm seeing. Just need a leather back for mine and I'll be all good.
I love how fast you talk. you know we came here for Info and you don't waste our time like SO MANY other youtubers. thank you

I had a heck of a time finding a reasonable case for this phone, too, because I got the leather version and not all available cases fit both versions of the phone. One thing I would NOT recommend getting is the S6 EDGE - My husband got that and it's been a headache and a half to deal with. +mostcallmerob hi! if you want to decide between the two phones just go for
a) size! which do you like better? i like the s6 better but the g4 is fine for me too, it's still a good size for me.

d) dont value other stuff that heavily (that's my opinion).
i have watched countless reviews now trying to decide what phone to get. there are a lot of opinions and they differ a lot. the main differences are listed above. though the s6 has more stuff to offer on paper (more cores (not really relevant), brighter screen (sometimes a good thing), oversaturation on color (people think that makes stuff a lot prettier, which is nice, lg keeps to movie standards) and a lot more small stuff.

Touchwiz> Vanilla android.
Also you can just root
Big Mo I have never heard anyone say that in my time of being an Android user. I've never heard anyone say Touchwiz was better than anything actually.
4NewHop3 I was had an s5 but "upgraded" to a nexus 6, and honestly, I wish I could go back.
Big Mo Touchwiz is absolute garbage.
This was the most comprehensive review i have seen so far on LG G4. So many options reviewed.
I can't wait to get this phone
P Jay it's really hard to find one brand new, if you find one brand new let me know where
The wide f/1.8 aperture of the main camera + 8 megapixel front camera is unbeatable! Perfect combo!
And the LG G4 has:
REMOVIBLE BATTERY and microSD thats a selling point to me😊
Samsung has gone the way of the i-phoney so samsung NO THANKS...
Exactly

+4everkko nexus 6
Please no (about Nexus 6)
Your reviews are so detailed - amazing! How can you tell so many things about this glass/plastic/metal things. If I was to buy any new phone to see your review prior is a must. Top man.
Anybody else notice those two emails at the end of the video? Pause at 26:47.
Haha WTF
+Andrew Becker So pervy.....lol
As a person who just bought his first LG phone, this review was extremely usefull!
Thank you verry much.
1440p on a 5.5 inch display... holy shit that's overkill. i can barely make out individual pixels from 5 inches away from my 720p phone.
If you think thats overkill than look at the z5 premium with a 4k display
+Gary For some reason my G4 has 2160p.
+Raptor1992 No it doesn't.
Mike is really capable of making the best and the (the) most descriptive videos on youtube.
I like all his videos. Great job man 👍
My OnePlus One was able to score a single-core score of 1096 and a multi-core score of 3455. I thought the LG G4 would be a lot faster
Benchmarks don't really mean anything tbh
Justin Blancarte i know, im a guy that likes benchmarks though lol
But your OnePlus is a little less impressive with a Full HD screen resolution and while the G4 has a Quad HD resolution pushing more PPI to the limits.
Jayzee Zeugirag true the one plus isn't nothing compare to the lg g4
6cmh3 lol
I recently upgraded to this phone and I highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a new smartphone. Great review.
GREAT REVIEW! I just bought this phone (in 2017 it's a steal) and you covered features I probably wouldn't have ever found out about! Thanks man!!
i'm a loyal LG phone user. i started using LG phone during their L series and since then i fall in love with LG. 😊❤️
"fell in love" 😊
Ive just done an upgrade on my contract, was torn between the S6, Z3 or the G4.....after numerous hours you tubing, this unboxing/ review helped me pick the LG G4 can't wait ....
does it freeze?i wanna change my note 4 coz i can't deal with samsung touch wiz.i know lg skin is also heavy so i don't know the phone performs
Finally! The video I've all been waiting for. Great job Mr. Kukielka!
You always tell on your reviews things that nobody else has told. Great job, as always :D
Probably the best review on the G4 on RUclips. Well done Mike ;)

That was a really sweet review! I saw this phone on display today and tried it a few times.. I was enticed so here I am, watching your video. Your review made it clearer that I shouldn't get an S6. Thank you!
After watching tons of reviews of the G4 and many other smartphones i think i finally made my decison to go for the G4
The best and very detail review of LG G4. Great work!

LG G4 HAS STUNNING CAMERA!!!
nice review. just what I have been looking for. unbiased unonpinionated review. more of a tour of the device. great job!
This walkthrough is going to be exactly what I need when I upgrade, thanks!
I like how you talk, fast and clear!
Great video, one of the best LG G4 review I've seen.
Thank you!
Nice video as always Mike! Been waiting for this :D
Watching this on my LG G4. Great phone. I recommend it.
I like the camera and the volume buttons on the back which allows us to take selfies without touching the screen and I also like the IR Blaster so I can control our TV
Congrats Mike! Real best review.

what makes this phone for me:
1) leather design
2) slim bezels = super clean look
3) arguably best camera right now
4) removable battery + sd card
Lol definitely the best camera right now. I am craving this phone so much that if I was a girl id probably need to change my panties. (I know it's a weird way of looking at it but hey I have a true passion for this phone right now - leave a man be alright)
That LG G4 Looks Nice and Leather Soft!
