Just got my G4 , never been more satisfied than this . It is a beast and the camera is just like a DSLR , Phone of the year regarding performance/price .
+Oussama Elouali I was going to get the LG G4 , but for the moment I went with Samsung S6 as my new phone. The build quality was the clincher for me. current price of 299 vs 349 . the extra 50 got me glass back, faster cpu's and AMOLED screen
+Smart Gagdets Technology Sure that is a great choice too , personally with the 50 extra bucks I would get another leather back which is more luxurious for me.
external memory is why I will go G4. Thank you LG! also, double tap unlock... better battery cuz of more mah + less cores durability doesn't heat up like the s6
Tomasz Gutka That's not really the main issue with expandable storage. When you have a MicroSD card in a phone you can have it save photos directly to the card. That's just one advantage, plus carrying around a flash drive is a pain in the butt.
+Monkey D. Luffy Better battery life because more mAh and less cores? Get your shit straight: www.gsmarena.com/lg_g4_vs_galaxy_s6-review-1266p3.php at the bottom of the third page. The cores has nothing to say, the Exynos 7420 is extremly powerful AND battery friendly. The battery life of the G4 is shit.
Shadow Slayer camera? I don't know what video you were watching, but I say to you son, watch this video again. For the average Joe who just want to point and shoot, the s6 camera is the one to have.
banglaz bless You sure about that, because the G4 has an automatic camera mode where literally all you have to do is tap the screen to get a shot. Plus if you're G4 is off just double tap the lower volume key and you instantly get a picture.
I get way more than that, I get 5 hours even more, some guys leave it with Bluetooth and GPS on that would obviously kill your battery. So far I'm loving this phone, the UI us very simple to use compared to older galaxy phones and quick charging is awesome. You can literally charge from 0-100% in 50 mins if you turn everything off.
***** The S6 camera came out on top here. The S6 won major battles, build, software, processor and screen. It also has DDR4 RAM vs DDR 3 on the G4 and faster storage. Removable batteries are redundant in the age of external battery packs. If 32gb is too small for you get the 64 or 128GB S6. Anyways the S6 is way way better than the G4.
MrXperx the only reasone that will make me choise gs 6 is the display. There is nothing Special about the gs 6. I have no problem with Plastic phones. And I can't Denial how beautiful the gs 6.
MrXperx the fact that ddr3 vs ddr4 is being brought up when discussing phone specs is laughable. The only case you would really see a difference between the two is if you were managing a render farm.
Kota Eden Nope, DDR4 is supposed to be more efficient than DDR3. That is one of the primary advantages of DDR4 over DDR3. Also since when does faster RAM only affect "render farms"?
MrXperx my point being that the difference is so small (especially on a phone), that you would never see a noticeable difference short of large-scale projects.
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS REVIEW POCKETNOW. Now I hope the LG fan base doesn't think my videos are FAKE when I did the Benchmark and Camera Video Test : )
Haven't really seen any reviews which praise the LG G4. And are people really that desperate for a flimsy removable back. Plus Android authority claims battery life is the same on both
I dont think its a must. I agree that if your phone is the only device you carry around then yes, a battery is much more efficient to carry around. But if you have a few devices that you carry around, i think you could survive with a power bank, especially the vinsic 20,000mah. I guess it all depends on what works for you.
I've been watching this channel for months now and I am really impressed by this video. Great job breaking down the differences between these two phones. Seemed thorough and fair. And I'm saying that as someone who owns and loves a LG G3 :P
@ 6:04, *front camera* LG G4-8MP front, Samsung Galaxy 6-5MP front. "despite the higher resolution on the LG, the Samsung wins the day." I like how in all the other reviews the front camera destroys the SG6 in both front & back & not to mention the 3 axis ois. Anyway what was the point of having the back light shine on your face in LG's selfie, bit in Samsung's selfie pic the light is off? Seems suspect to me. Anyway good review, seemed to be a bit bias IMO.
Jonathan oQo atlast! someone noticed. At Screen on time he just said, "G4 last 4 and half hour (on video 4 h 2x m), while s6 last for 3 hour (on video, 2 h 3xm)". It almost 2 hour difference! He is little bit bias on this video.
I like that they increased the bezels on the G4. We have been asking for that. /s And where is fingerprint? Using it on iPhone and S6 is so flawless that it's starting to make it mandatory, for me, on high end phones.
This is the best comparison I've seen. Decided that S6 edge will be my next phone, my s3 is now easily overheats and with limited RAM, performance immensely suffers.
Michael I'd just like to say your videos always have an asthetically pleasing charm to them that keeps me coming back for more. I'm not sure if it's the clean video editing or the fact how you always sound like you know what you're doing, but nothing keeps me from jumping for joy when there's a new upload with Michael Fisher.
Michael has stated that he doesn't care about specs or benchmark scores. Day to day usage is all that really matters, and both phones are both excellent in this regard.
+Elbert Gutierrez Well you will inevitably have a preference for one over the other, he justified his reasons for preferring one feature over the other during his review.
I chose the LG G4 over the GS6. The store I bought it from told me the new Galaxys are coming back in for repairs more often. The S6 batteries can't be removed and you can't add a memory card which sucks. I absolutely love the camera on the G4.
M9 is not even close to G4 and S6. Not worth to mention. I'm going for a G4 most probably from G3. It's hard to pass up removable battery, SD card, tap to wake, and customizable navigation button. I can place home button in whichever position I want!
Ray Sanders Even the M8 is junk. Sure, some people are happy with it. But I mostly see unhappy users and complaints of random crashes and completely failed apps. Of course that is an Android issue and is a product of "open source" software compared to something like Apple.
while I love my S6, it may be the last time I get an expensive flagship. the parity between budget phones like the idol 3 and top of the line phones is quickly increasing
I agree with Michael. Samsung 6 Edge is beauty! I tested it and found it to be fast, beautiful screen and camera looks amazing with opening sequence to the viewfinder coming up in 1 second. The build quality is also amazing and the edge to edge screen is the star of the show. It feels like as if the screen is floating right in front of your face. Highly recommended over any other Android phone.
thecarboy95 HTC One M9: "Improved" design, moved power key to side, "improved" camera LG G4: Added much more customization, a much better camera, and bigger screen size. There you go.
I wonder if the industry of reviewers is overhyping the S6 due to it low sales of the S5.. . Samsung mobile is one of the best spenders in advertising in US and worldwide so is in no one best interest see their sales go down; specially on an industry that depends on advertisements... I´ve hold the S6 and edge on hand and I did not feel anything he said, it did´t feel special, or premium, it felt kind of fragile... and other reviewers has said it feels premium too, while, other friends of mine have said it felt fragile, i wonder why that is... any one elsa has had the same problem?
Lol since when did everyone have to have the same opinion about something? Just because you think its fragile, doesn't mean everyone else should. All of these phones will break when you drop them. No matter how they feel in your hands.
MrXperx Sad android donkey... I said feel fragile not is... I´ve seen reviews and know it can take a beating, however the in hand feel is something very importan for a lot of people, and about money... well with samsung phone that has never been an issue its price drops like a twerking booty
DeltaProxZP Its actually a metaphor. The flag on a ship usually mark the gang's leader. Thus a flagship, is the 'captain' of that 'gang' or in this case, the "top dog" of that 'brand'. Captain out!
DeltaProxZP Flagship means the top of the line product a company has, and it applies outside of smartphones too, for example in guitars, Taylor's flagship woold be the 814s while its 214s would be like a galaxy alpha to the s6
Am I the only one that find the notification pull-down button on the nav bar very annoying? Inb4 dumbasses: I know you can fucking disable the key, been using android for 5 years now and I've owned LG phones, it's not that much of a novelty anymore.
Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems the reviewer has a bias towards the s6 as some of the information he speaks is skewed from the values shown. For example: at 2:05 he sais "its nearly 30g less massive" yet the numbers on screen show only a 17g difference. Another example: 8:05 he rounds down the G4 'screen on' time to 4h (verbally) when it clearly sais 4h 32 min, while rounding up the s6 from 2h 34m to 3h. There are probably more examples, these are just the ones I noticed.
Dane Buckley he didn't give it a leg up. He simply chose it as his preference. In his conclusion, he said the things the s6 does better and the things the G4 does better. but at the end of the day he prefers the s6. he didn't declare it a winner by any sort, just his preference. The vibe i got from him is that he thinks they are equally as good but the things that the s6 has over the g4 are more preferrable relative to the things the g4 has over the s6.
The review forget to cover some features of the GS6 like the IR blaster and the hearth sensor. The G4 is a good phone but I don't like the screen, the CPU and that leather back. Leather in a car is something that get damage quickly, imagine in something that you use so often. GS6's back is fragile but I own a transparent cover and it looks Amazing.
Freddie Morales Yup... Some reviewers miss out some features on GS6, but I think the most important thing that they also forget to metion is the SCREEN MODES on GS6. Many reviewers just say GS6's display is bright, vivid, and colour-saturated, but it is also the Samsung's AMOLED display that delivers the most ACCURATE colour with its BASIC mode. Samsung's default screen mode (adaptive display) is sure colour-saturated because that is what most average consumers favour (they like popping colour). Samsung is a clear victim of those reviewers who just say that AMOLED screen is saturated, so many non-tech consumers believe that Samsung's display has fake colour and they do not know the display options they have. I like to see that all reviewers be more specific on DISPLAY like digging more into the colour temperature, colour gamuts, intensity scales, grey scales, etc.
The G4 has an IR blaster as well, and let's face it almost no one uses the hart rate sensor so most reviewers even forget to mention it.. And I'm sure this is a matter of preference but I think that one of the thighs that makes leather beautiful on phones is that it tears and scratches, it makes those very personal devices more unique and feel like used and yours! And it doesn't break, which doesn't hurt either ahah
VanTOPChoi Personally, I find the basic display setting to be dull, to the point where I wouldn't recognise how it's the best or one of the best screens on a smartphone today. It's like the colours lack colour or saturation for a better word. Green is the worst offender in that regard, it looks too dark for my tastes. The same photo looks better on the HTC One X than on the S6 (with basic mode). Colours pop, they are bright and vivid. According to one Dutch tech-website, the One X's display is comparable to IPS and is made by Sharp. On the adaptive setting of the S6, it's only the red and orange colours that are a little too saturated. It's ironic that I prefer the S6's adaptive screen setting over its basic setting, because I had long used the 'oversaturation' as an argument against AMOLED.
Coming from a Galaxy Note II, the GS6 is just too small for me. I am way too comfortable with a phablet. Also, the extra storage and removable battery is a huge plus to me, although maybe not for most people. In addition, the GS6 in my eyes does not look attractive. It seems like they tried to copy Apple on the design way too much. So even though the Galaxy S6 seems a little more powerful and has a slightly better screen, the G4 is no slouch and has certain things that just fit me better. I'm getting a new phone in a couple of weeks, so I think I will go for the LG G4. What do you guys think?
Do it, awesome choice. Pick up extra batteries so u dont have to ever worry about a dead phone. They are so convenient that you wouldnt know how u ever lived without them.
rogemont69 With my Note II, I have two extra batteries that I keep with me if I think I will be using my phone a lot or won't be near a charger. Very useful!
Nathan Jones I would like to, but due to changing contracts I need to get one within this month. Note 5 seems like it is going to be an awesome phone though!
The99Chowder can't you start a 1 month rolling contract, in the UK we have things things called 1 month sim only rolling contracts, which cost about $20 a month and gets you unlimited everything but you keep your current phone and only pay for the data/texts/calls and because it's only 1 month rolling you can end at any time you want, does the US have sim only contracts?
I found the Cyanogen camera app (in play store) added functionality and quality to the one plus's camera after some setting tweaking. Ie 30 fps 4k recording. Trying to stay optimistic about the g4 tho.
Enjoying my S6 a lot! The first samy device I have ever owned and a hell of a great one too! Incredible screen, awesome camera(s), sexy design, snapy processor, decent UI and a speaker to be beat - all make for the best android flagship of this year. Jumped to the S6 from my G2, which is a great phone in and out, yet not as special as the S6. + The LG does quite a poor job supporting their past flagships, thus my G2 hasn't received the lollipop yet (mine's a sprint version). p.s. The S6 has a share of it's issue too: it heats up quite a bit while put under moderate to heavy use. In fact, the day I bought it, I thought it might've been broken. Battery life is barely half-decent, yet it charges literally in a matter of minutes. The phone is extremely slippery both in and out of pocket virtually on every surface yet I personally do not want to cover it up with a protective case. The front glass plate covering the screen does not make a perfectly flat line (i.e. it is pushed in on the lower right corner of the screen that slight bit too much), which can hardly be seen with the nacked eye and as far as I know is quite a rare issue and doesn not affect too much of the S6 devices. Either way, Samsung has finally nailed it this time.
Eric Hong Most of reviewers have NFC, Bluetooth, GPS turned on with maximum brightness and that's how they judge. Yes with that LG G4 lasts more, but if you will turn these features off at least when you don't need them and tune the brightness down (always used 30% and less, can't understand why would you need more, especially indoors), you will get solid 4-6- hrs of screen on time. Maybe even more.
I get 4 hours of screen time. And that is online screen time with 3 bars of 4g. That's RUclips abd Web browsing. At home on WiFi I get 5 1/2 - 6 hours screen time. That's online screen time. That's pretty impressive of you ask me. If I had 5 bars of 4 lte I would easily get 5 hours online screen time. I was about to return my s6 edge untill I disabled the Google now crap along with some settings inside of it. I also keep my screen brightness checked off at about 65 percent with auto brightness mode on. Once you make a few tweaks you can get good screen time. And I'm a power user. 10-20 gigs a month. When I first got the phone I charged it. Then let it drain to 0. Then I charged it to full with the phone off. Then I charged it from 40% to 100. Then I cleared the cache manually and let it drain down to 0 again. Then I left it charging, while it was om this time, to 100% and left it on the charger an extra hour. After that, and all the disabled Google crap and bloatware, I'm now getting superb battery life. I also use power saving mode sometimes in between during the day abd it helps. So if you own an s6 or s6 edge I suggest you do what I have done and then judge. I ass honestly about to return the phone. And on top of it when 5.1.1 comes out within the next week or so the battery, smoothness and camera are going to increase in quality exponentially. It's going to be an amazing phone when that update hits. It has all the hardware. Just needs those tweets yachts AR coming. Today is my 14th day and my last chance to exchange it for the lg g4. It's not happening. Take a photo om the s6 and turn on basic screen mode. I garentee you the s6 is the better more accurate camera. And this is my first samsung. I was an htc and lg guy before.
Ok, just finished watching the review. I have one question. Is this guy working for Samsung? Cause to me he surely seems to be doing an amazing job in praising Samsung. To be honest, I'm pretty disappointed as I don't expect to see such things in "professional" reviews. :)
I've been following this channel for a while now and I don't think they're being paid by Samsung. Most of the things stated in the video are simple facts. My friend has an LG G4, it's a great phone, and its camera might be better than the S6 module, but the S6 has the more vivid display, the brighter display, the slightly faster processor (I tested it against my S6 edge) and more responsive and refined software. How they look and feel is definitely a case of personal preference, so I won't touch on that, and the G4 battery is also better, but even with fast charging on both, the S6 charges significantly faster. So faster charging vs bigger battery (+ removable back and expandability). That's what Michael stated in the video, nothing biased about that.
I'm a fan of this channel. they've always seems unbiased. they've given samsung some rough reviews against other phones as well. seems very objective to me. are you possibly a G4 owner and partial to your device?
+Marius LG scored 4h 32 minutes On-screen time - he said " lg lasted for about 4 and a half hours". The S6 scored 2H 32 minutes On-screen time - he said " s6 lasted for about 3 hours " . I guess he's working for samsung
Luka Triska If you think it's Android bug then why my z2 (which is upgraded recently to lollipop) lasts a bit over 8hrs screen on mid-brightness everything on without even using STAMINA mode?!! The truth is.. Samsung devices are inferior in terms of battery back from the days of S2.
Samsungs screens are easily the best there are simple as that, even to the point i am hearing that apple are going to use them in the next version of the iphone.
lol this guy loves samsung so much he didn't even bother to cross check his lg specs. fyi,lg g4 does come with quickcharging. and also it has the fastest 'quickcharge' in the world, you replace the battery and get 100% again. that's what.,100% in 10 seconds? smh
I wish that LG would've changed the design a bit but that's nothing!!! The fact that you can replace the battery and upgrade the memory to a 2TB Micro SD card wins it for me! I do a lot of videos on the go and memory space is very important. So i think i will be getting that LG G4 to replace my G3 (which i love).... The S6 is for those iphone haters who wants something flashy like the iphone itself lol
Goddamnit, I didn't think a review video could get so damn good. Thank you so much for one of the best, informative videos I have ever seen. Really helped me a lot in making up my mind between these two phones.
TheSkyline35 there us cure for that but i forgot what video you should watch !! you can get 7 hours + sorry i forgot the video on how to improve it i think the reason is the s6 keeps seeking for wifi
This was the video that tipped the scales for me in the S6's favor. I owe it to Mr. Fisher for cementing Pocketnow as a source for tech news to me, and I follow both it and his own tech review venture.
Sean Bilstad They were rocking cartoonish look from kitkat, and you know what, lollipop is cartoonish so I dont know what is problem with samsungs cartoonish look...
Is it wrong to actually love a phone? I love my S6 Edge so much, I can't stop staring at it! I know, that's so sad! I'm always wiping and spit shining it as if it's a Lamborghini! Anyway...I'm sure the LG G4 is a very nice phone, I have the LG G3 and like it much. With that being said...I don't treat it like I do my S6 Edge...there's nothing like premium quality! Enjoy whichever phone you have! :D
By the way...there's nothing like being able to customize your phone like you can with the LG! Congrats to LG for not trying to lock us out from customizations!
+Han Lockhart At least you acknowledged "You" couldn't fall in love with one, but then you started saying if it could do this and that then maybe. :| I guess I just happen to love and appreciate the things I buy, maybe that has something to do with my trying to keep the stuff in immaculate condition. I don't know if your answer was saying it was wrong or not for me to love a phone, but I'll just note it down somewhere I should be more immersed in a good book! I guess it really does depend on who's the one doing what. Anyway, thanks indeed for your valuable input!
Well I'll have to agree with you. It just looks plain stunning! But as for spit shining, I'll need to remember never to touch your phone if I meet you. 😂
jose LG also boot locks and they haven't really done much to fix it. it's an issue that continues through the V10 and since the G2... I'll stick with Sam
If G4 was just an average phone I wouldn't have cared but I loved it because of its immense versatility until the phone got bricked(Boot-loop) and broke my heart within 5 months of its purchase. I don't like Samsung either and it is very painful for me to say, LG cant resolve Boot loops. N E V E R .... B U Y .... L G !
I just bought another g4. i've taken it in the shower, thrown it intentionally, and never had a problem. after 3 years, it decided not to connect to anything. i ordered a new one (at a deeply discounted price) and magically, the old one works again. now i have two. love the g4.
Sony phones have the best camera of all smart phones. I have a sony xperia z3, and I can take a ultra 4k resolution pictures under WATER. The colors are amazing and so vibrant. The battery life is great too, it can last up to 2 days. Sony phones are cool.
LG more accurate colors? This greenish hue over the screen makes it look like its covered in stinky water from a canal. This quantum dot thing is a fail.
MadMike41 bro... even his camera can change the original colour! Some screen types will also have different colours in camera, but only in camera. Keep that in mind. LG has quite the experience in screens too. I have a samsung phone and I love the screen but you can see its just not the true colour, its a little bit leaning more to the pleasent colour than real.
One screen to another ( camera videotaping the screen of the lg/Samsung) will fabricate the imaging by a tad. I've used both new models and trust me the color variation on both are a lot better then shown
Great comparison Michael. I agree with everything you said. I have purchased a battery pack, quick charger for the car and Samsung qi charger and I'm happy as Larry.
0:34 Whatever happened to saying "flashier." Also LG G4 supports quick charge through the quick circle case. It seems to me that the brightness/contrast of the LG G4 has been dimmed down in this video. What's up with the washed-out greyish yellow tinge in the LG G4's display? Might have been an accidental configuration (or maybe bias?), but in another video from the same publisher, "LG G4 vs Samsung Galaxy S6: Hands-On Comparison," the LG G4's display is much brighter and more vivid than the S6's display! The same can be noticed in another video, "LG G4 vs Samsung Galaxy S6/ S6 Edge - Comparison." by Jonny Troche, including sunlight test, or "LG G4 vs Samsung Galaxy S6 - Ultimate Comparison!," by Dom Esposito. I've watched many other video reviews, and while the S6 does seem to perform better under sunlight, it's kind of hard to believe that the G4 would perform so poorly under sunlight as shown here at 2:35. Additionally, the selfie test 6:00 - why do you have yellow back light on in the G4 test, but not in the S6 test? Yellow light will make any picture yellow if white balance is off.
I'm torn right now. I've had the LG G4 for almost two years and I really love it. Around this time last year it went into the boot loop but I was still under warranty so I just replaced my broken G4 with a brand new one. Now my new phone has done a boot loop and I'm no longer under warranty so I can't replace it. I'm trying to figure out what phone to get now. I really want to stick with the G4 but we haven't had any luck with them. Between me and my family we've had 4 and all 4 of them have gone into boot loop. What should I do? Would LG repair it even though it's not under warranty anymore? There also aren't any LG stores near me so I can't just bring it to a store to get it fixed. Should I just go with Samsung instead?
Btw, excellent video, very interesting that you've compared two of my favorite brands. No two brands are exact, especially coming from the same country, that's the kick to this clip Thanks for uploading
BEST REVIEWER OF POCKET NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LAKSHAY SHARMA Absolutely! Honest and toned.
***** Thanks :)
***** of course he's toned. He works out!
LAKSHAY SHARMA yes he is
Yes he is best

Just got my G4 , never been more satisfied than this .
It is a beast and the camera is just like a DSLR , Phone of the year regarding performance/price .
+Oussama Elouali Back then it was, lol. Now it's all about the V10
+Taraz T it's a sick phone, but it's not much better than the G4
*****
I beg to differ.
+Oussama Elouali I was going to get the LG G4 , but for the moment I went with Samsung S6 as my new phone. The build quality was the clincher for me.
current price of 299 vs 349 . the extra 50 got me glass back, faster cpu's and AMOLED screen
+Smart Gagdets Technology Sure that is a great choice too , personally with the 50 extra bucks I would get another leather back which is more luxurious for me.
i love the lg g4..
Aebob Xy i love dick.

Nathan Jones wHAT THE FUCK?!1
***** what?
Nathan Jones .. what?
external memory is why I will go G4. Thank you LG!

double tap unlock...
better battery cuz of more mah + less cores
durability
doesn't heat up like the s6
Hys Zahre check out MicroDuo USB, it makes no expandable memory no problem any more
Tomasz Gutka That's not really the main issue with expandable storage. When you have a MicroSD card in a phone you can have it save photos directly to the card. That's just one advantage, plus carrying around a flash drive is a pain in the butt.

+Monkey D. Luffy Better battery life because more mAh and less cores? Get your shit straight:

The cores has nothing to say, the Exynos 7420 is extremly powerful AND battery friendly. The battery life of the G4 is shit.
Add the back of the LG to the S6 and you got the best phone of the year.
And the camera
Shadow Slayer camera? I don't know what video you were watching, but I say to you son, watch this video again. For the average Joe who just want to point and shoot, the s6 camera is the one to have.

Matt Gar You can literally go from 0% to 100% in 1 minute by swapping batteries on the G4.
The G4 supports quickcharging...
the s6 also does
TheUnPlayable dear god so does the s6!
Austin Chandler Did I ever say it didn't you stupid ?
No but you should have
Austin Chandler
he said that because the reviewer said it didn't

THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS REVIEW POCKETNOW. Now I hope the LG fan base doesn't think my videos are FAKE when I did the Benchmark and Camera Video Test : )
Finally a review that doesn't praise the LG g4 and gives a solid comparison of these phones!
Haven't really seen any reviews which praise the LG G4. And are people really that desperate for a flimsy removable back. Plus Android authority claims battery life is the same on both
From what I have seen, everyone seems so googly eyed for the LG G4 because of that removable back cover and camera. I don't see the hype.
Herbert Bamac battery is the first thing that dies fast, so removable battery is a must to have !
I agree 100% on your comment, every other review says the LG g4 has the best cameras but he gives the win to S6, bias big time imo.
Jonathan oQo lol how does it destroy the s6 camera maby beat it but not destroy it espechially on the back. fanboy
Jonathan oQo Fanboy much?
I like that they increased the bezels on the G4. We have been asking for that. /s
And where is fingerprint? Using it on iPhone and S6 is so flawless that it's starting to make it mandatory, for me, on high end phones.
Very true. Quick charge and finger print scanner screams high end. Lg could've made it perfectly on the wide power button.
That's what knock code is for
Armani Lynch brother a finger print scanner does a lot more than unlock your phone.
I understand that
Armani Lynch nope.
This is the best comparison I've seen. Decided that S6 edge will be my next phone, my s3 is now easily overheats and with limited RAM, performance immensely suffers.
Love my S6. Camera is amaze-balls!
Chris Morales hope to get it for my birthday this fall.
Adnan Ahmed i'm also upgraded from an s3 and overheating is a real issue with it...
Adnan Ahmed If you're getting it by this fall I suggest you wait for the Galaxy Note 5
Adnan Ahmed The GS6 will overheat too.. a lot..
Michael I'd just like to say your videos always have an asthetically pleasing charm to them that keeps me coming back for more. I'm not sure if it's the clean video editing or the fact how you always sound like you know what you're doing, but nothing keeps me from jumping for joy when there's a new upload with Michael Fisher.
in the performance section he should have mentioned the fact that the g4 absolutely destroys the s6 in real life cpu tests.
Michael has stated that he doesn't care about specs or benchmark scores. Day to day usage is all that really matters, and both phones are both excellent in this regard.
+Jacob Williams but as far as I know ram management on s6 is 👎
+Abhishek Awesomer It's since been fixed with Android 6.0.1 :)
Jacob Williams yup you're right.. Went to the local store and checked it myself 😊..
First review I've ever watched of yours, I absolutely love it!
i feel like this guy is biased, and is on the samsung side
same
+Elbert Gutierrez Well you will inevitably have a preference for one over the other, he justified his reasons for preferring one feature over the other during his review.
+Elbert Gutierrez Very biased!!
he justified his reasons the entire vide
+Brandon Wallace lol
I chose the LG G4 over the GS6. The store I bought it from told me the new Galaxys are coming back in for repairs more often. The S6 batteries can't be removed and you can't add a memory card which sucks. I absolutely love the camera on the G4.
Last year it was ALL M8.
But this year, where's the M9 now?!
Ray Sanders M9 is fail.. no improvements at all.
M9 camera sucks. Other than that, it's an excellent phone. Got one and love it.
I got m9. Looking to sell and might buy s6 edge.
Wow not gonna lie Michael, that Captain Picard thing about touch in the beginning was pretty nice.
while I love my S6, it may be the last time I get an expensive flagship. the parity between budget phones like the idol 3 and top of the line phones is quickly increasing
How about a HTC One M9 vs LG G4 comparison?
thecarboy95
HTC One M9: "Improved" design, moved power key to side, "improved" camera
LG G4: Added much more customization, a much better camera, and bigger screen size.
There you go.
8:26 Very slick, Michael. 👍😉 Enjoyed that comparison a lot, keep up the excellent work!
Anyway will buy g4, its bigger, cheaper and has expandable storage
don't do it, it will bootloop.
what exactly is bootloop, care to explain please?
Your phone wont turn on and it will just loop the bootup :P aka boot-loop.
Happend to me but i got it fixed for free.
Michael, nice job as usual. Especially appreciated a straight forward addressing of the battery, with screen on time.
Good review, I'll personally be going for the G4. Although I did feel like you had a slight bias against the G4.
Thank you, wonderful review. I've been deciding between these two phones and this was immensely helpful.
***** Probably too poor to buy an S6. You call Gorrila glass 4 fragile.
MrXperx gorilla glas 10 or 20, you phone will shatter ! Gorilla glas is pure marketing.
Lol since when did everyone have to have the same opinion about something? Just because you think its fragile, doesn't mean everyone else should. All of these phones will break when you drop them. No matter how they feel in your hands.
Dante Bradley Well i did clarify that other friends thought the same, hence my question
MrXperx Sad android donkey... I said feel fragile not is... I´ve seen reviews and know it can take a beating, however the in hand feel is something very importan for a lot of people, and about money... well with samsung phone that has never been an issue its price drops like a twerking booty
Been waiting for such a review and i can say it was well worth the wait. Awesome video Michael!
Sorry for my stupidity, but what is flagship?
So much fail in this dumbass question I don't know where to begin!
DeltaProxZP Its actually a metaphor. The flag on a ship usually mark the gang's leader. Thus a flagship, is the 'captain' of that 'gang' or in this case, the "top dog" of that 'brand'. Captain out!
nazrin asraf Oh, I see. Thanks! :)
DeltaProxZP anytime.
DeltaProxZP Flagship means the top of the line product a company has, and it applies outside of smartphones too, for example in guitars, Taylor's flagship woold be the 814s while its 214s would be like a galaxy alpha to the s6
back in the day when this channel was the top dog.
Am I the only one that find the notification pull-down button on the nav bar very annoying?
Inb4 dumbasses: I know you can fucking disable the key, been using android for 5 years now and I've owned LG phones, it's not that much of a novelty anymore.
No
You can remove the key though
I don't Like this button!
Inner Ear Thing I've had an LG G2 and never saw the purpose to having a key like that to be honest.
annoying? I love this button I my G3, always using it, as I like to use my phone with one hand! however u can remove this button if u don't like it!
I think this guy really really really likes Samsung.... First review I've heard giving the s6 so much of a leg up over the g4
Dane Buckley he didn't give it a leg up. He simply chose it as his preference. In his conclusion, he said the things the s6 does better and the things the G4 does better. but at the end of the day he prefers the s6. he didn't declare it a winner by any sort, just his preference. The vibe i got from him is that he thinks they are equally as good but the things that the s6 has over the g4 are more preferrable relative to the things the g4 has over the s6.
well, he is not supposed to say his own opinion in the review
Always enjoy your reviews. Many thanks
The s6 is way prettier than the g4 and the build is superb.
Grt Video ..Pocket Now seems to be the benchmark for review videos worldwide..!!
S6 display is clearly better in every single aspect that brightness comparison, good lord LG what happened
One of the best reviews I've seen in awhile! Well done!
The review forget to cover some features of the GS6 like the IR blaster and the hearth sensor. The G4 is a good phone but I don't like the screen, the CPU and that leather back. Leather in a car is something that get damage quickly, imagine in something that you use so often. GS6's back is fragile but I own a transparent cover and it looks Amazing.
quick question, have you ever buy a Bentley?
Freddie Morales which cover did you buy?
As usual ,a gr8 review Michael Fisher......... Keep up the good job
The99Chowder wait for the note 5, i feel you will regret getting the G4 when the note 5 comes out.
rogemont69 With my Note II, I have two extra batteries that I keep with me if I think I will be using my phone a lot or won't be near a charger.
Really well presented Mic. Good job as always
damn im stuck between those two. S6 has a sick design but lacks the SD slot and i would be a little scared about it being shattered :|
had mine for over a year and no scratches execpt on the charge port lol. but I enjoy it get a 64 gig and ull be good
@pocketnow
Dude i love your commentary.
G4+CM12= Perfection
*breathing intensifies*
Brianwashere92 I was considering doing that but I found that the camera quality decreases after installing CM, that's a deal breaker for me
I found the Cyanogen camera app (in play store) added functionality and quality to the one plus's camera after some setting tweaking.
The LG G4 does have fast charging, only the fast charging adapter is not included.
One of the best reviews involving the LG G4. Especially liked the screen comparison between the 2 phones.
S6 only has 3 hour on screen time, that's disappointing. I need a phone with bigger battery.
Eric Hong i've seen people getting consistently 4+ hours SOT.
Eric Hong who uses their phone for 3 hours straight...
Austin Chandler no one but we here are talking about 3 hours incremental screen on time over a day, right?
Long time no post any new revise, we miss you michael
Ok, just finished watching the review.
I have one question. Is this guy working for Samsung?
Cause to me he surely seems to be doing an amazing job in praising Samsung. To be honest, I'm pretty disappointed as I don't expect to see such things in "professional" reviews. :)
I'm sure there's money involved some way
That's exactly what I was thinking. he kept saying samsung is better at this and when it came down to the G4 he said it's slightly better. WTF
Thank you. Great review!
About 3 hours of screen on time? Well that says it all. The s6 seems totally useless when that's the case.
This is a known bug that samsung fixed and is sending updates to usera right now
Luka Triska 800 euro phone comes with bugs.. good job Samsung !
3dkiller but this bug is also connected to android bug, so it night nit be samsungs fault
MAFlAz777 Than why my S3 lasts 6 days screen on time without battery saver.
What Marble Blast/Zuma game is that @ 3:02 ? Thanks!
Samsungs screens are easily the best there are simple as that, even to the point i am hearing that apple are going to use them in the next version of the iphone.
You heard right
@@kenbee1957 that's a late reply my friend 4 years later in fact
@@ianwlouw
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was the point
Your sources were very accurate though
That`s a neat review! Well done! :-)
lol this guy loves samsung so much he didn't even bother to cross check his lg specs. fyi,lg g4 does come with quickcharging. and also it has the fastest 'quickcharge' in the world, you replace the battery and get 100% again. that's what.,100% in 10 seconds? smh
they updated it AFTER this review came out
note 4 is better than this
Best review ever!!!
I want removable batteries and memories but i changed my mind watching this vid
Thx Michael!
Juan Carlos Martinez ..... What about that LG Watch too :)
Right! The s6 is for iPhone haters that secretly wanted an iPhone for android.
No i have the iphone 6 but i am going to switch to samsung gs6 edge or lg g4
Goddamnit, I didn't think a review video could get so damn good. Thank you so much for one of the best, informative videos I have ever seen. Really helped me a lot in making up my mind between these two phones.
The G4 offer quickcharge, you just need to buy one, buy it's fully compatible.
NOW ITS 300 bucks!
+Tornado Playz so is the s6
SERIOUSLY
+Tornado Playz yeah man but I'm trying to decide on HTC One a9 or the m9 can you help me out
What is ure budget the a9 is more expensive but I think u should consider, if u have the money, the htc 10.
less than 3h screen on with the S6 ? wow, it's really poor !
TheSkyline35 Must be a fault unit. I get much more than 3. I use auto brightness though.
How many you do so ? 4h ?
TheSkyline35 S6 is gonna be the king of wall huggers for 2015
...
TheSkyline35 there us cure for that
but i forgot what video you should watch !!
you can get 7 hours + sorry i forgot the video on how to improve it
i think the reason is the s6 keeps seeking for wifi
This was the video that tipped the scales for me in the S6's favor. I owe it to Mr. Fisher for cementing Pocketnow as a source for tech news to me, and I follow both it and his own tech review venture.
Lg UI is horrendous
Looks hideous lol
armando bronca segura Still would take LG's UI over TouchWiz any day
touchwiz looks awesome
sheldon leslie Samsung's Touchwiz is still too cartoony and still looks tacky IMO.
Sean Bilstad They were rocking cartoonish look from kitkat, and you know what, lollipop is cartoonish so I dont know what is problem with samsungs cartoonish look...
amazing video...congratulations to this channel!!!
I guess I just happen to love and appreciate the things I buy, maybe that has something to do with my trying to keep the stuff in immaculate condition.
+Thisath Ranawaka lol 👋
I'm the same way! I bring a little cloth everywhere I go so that I can wipe my phone down if it's getting dirty lol
Just want to thank you guys. Your videos are great for helping me make the big decisions!
I absolutely love the g4
Great video Michael :D
LG has a new client
samsung over priced, and no sd card slot
Hello guys I have a channel on youtube please subscription does not have a lot of videos I ask you to sign up and beg
jose LG also boot locks and they haven't really done much to fix it.
it's an issue that continues through the V10 and since the G2...
S6 fucks that phone lol
Get lost s6 wins
Sai Sidharth Do you English? Thats exactly what he said...
GodxComplex67 English is not everyones firs language so this might be a problem here... but yea, you are right.
Sai Sidharth did he not say the S6 wins? Lol.
The g4 is better.
I'm due an upgrade, and narrowed it down to these two. Great video, thanks!
Sony phones have the best camera of all smart phones. I have a sony xperia z3, and I can take a ultra 4k resolution pictures under WATER. The colors are amazing and so vibrant. The battery life is great too, it can last up to 2 days. Sony phones are cool.
+Abdull Mohommed ur sony lagg or slow now ?
Zhyar Jassim lol
can u answer me bro Abdull Mohommed
Zhyar Jassim Can you rephrase your question? I dont quite get it, sorry.
i mean u have sony phone? its slow or fast
What's the game on 7:13 ?
I'll take the G4 :D
This review was epic you covered everything so well
I prefer versatillity(G4).
best Review i have ever seen of those 2 phones you guys Rock!
LG more accurate colors? This greenish hue over the screen makes it look like its covered in stinky water from a canal. This quantum dot thing is a fail.
I thought i was the only one ... Its bad ...
MadMike41 You are watching the quality of a screen through another screen... I would hold judgment for when you have them both in front of you.
Jeremy Rosenstock Since I am not the only one who sees that, I doubt it has anything to do with the colour accuracy of both my monitor and my phone.
I've used both new models and trust me the color variation on both are a lot better then shown
BEST REVIEWER SINCE AARON FROM PHONEDOG!!! Salute!
I'll wait for the Note5 ..should trump both of these
Great comparison Michael. I agree with everything you said. I have purchased a battery pack, quick charger for the car and Samsung qi charger and I'm happy as Larry.
G4 is better, S6 was a disgraceful move by samsung
omegadan did you watch the video?
omegadan Both are great and beautiful phones. The final verdict is a matter of personal taste.
omegadan Indeed.
Don't feed the troll.
Galaxy s6 is better than Lgg4
Samsung s6 is better
I think you should. I heard that its a common problem for the G4
Lol
So you had FOUR of the same phone die to bootloops....and you were wondering whether to stick with the brand?
Go Samsung ^^
There is actually a theme store on the g4, it's called the lg smart world. It's been around since the g2
LG G4 the best,!! :)

Mike is definitely the best mobile reviewer out there no doubt, keep the good work up
Why I didn't see any kind of audio comparison? Loudspeaker, headphones output?
S6 or S6 Edge. No doubt!!
Btw, excellent video, very interesting that you've compared two of my favorite brands. No two brands are exact, especially coming from the same country, that's the kick to this clip
