What do you think to our transparent phone concept? Does it make you want one? 🤔 For the War between Samsung and Google: ruclips.net/video/0MNiUQz7ed4/видео.html
Bruh imagine how many phones would be lost after turning them off For yall sayin the sides would be visible if u can lose your phone now you can sure bet your losin the transparent phone
There's a reason transparent displays are so popular in sci-fi, and it's not because the displays are practical: It's because they have advantages in shot framing. You can show what's on the display and the face of the actor reacting to it at the same time, or show them looking at the screen in a natural pose without the screen obstructing the view of their face. Audiences want to see the face of the actor, they want to see the emotion - and transparent displays just make that easier to shoot. The Expanse uses this to great effect.
I guess it can also show what's on the screen at the same time so if framed perfectly the audience will see the actors expression and also get to see what they are seeing to judge it themself. this is better than needing two clips cut together. A video call is best example of this. The audience can see the person in the call and the main actor at the same time. But yes being able to see the actor is the biggest reason and the rest is just extra
IHe only mentioned about seeing the actors face and not what was on the screen. If you look closely he edited his original comment after I posted that. Sorry but originally his comment looked very different and had nothing on the dis[play only talking about the benefit of seeing the actors face

Right now for electric cars, we are planning to put power-cells under MAJOR ROADWAYS, interstate highways... Samsung failing at a lot of concepts is what I want to see from others. It's the only way you eventually get something both incredibly groundbreaking AND useful 👍
I think a far better use of a transparent LED screen would be implementing it into a car's windshield. Imagine using Google Maps but you can see an arrow augmented onto the road, directing you where to go. No more guessing as to which road you need to turn onto. Or maybe a warning system that highlights a vehicle or pedestrian before they end up too close to you. No more Change Blindness effect. Or better yet, it could be used to enhance or alter surrounding color for those with Color Blindness.
They have these implemented in a far more economical way than actually having the windshield itself be an entire screen, and they're called HUDs. A windshield display is too expensive to consider for most consumer vehicles, and it's really gonna suck when it gets a crack.
BMW has something similar called Head Up Display where you can see satnav or arrow directing you also your speed and car information. A lot of modern cars has similar displays on windscreens.
There are likely some ways to find use from a transparent screen, like say heads-up-displays or having windows that turn into a screen when you want it to. The same technology could also help to filter the light that enters the home as the screens basically use liquid crystals to manipulate the light coming from the backlight. A transparent phone sounds like a gimick, but it's only the beginning.

I'm surprised he didn't bring up the point about privacy. Having transparency means that everybody can see what you're doing on your phone lol, and a lot of people wouldn't like that.
@@adityakaushik5031 I was being kind of an ass intentionally, for fun and profit. And well yes it does matter, if you find someone worth it to hold onto love is kind of a really good word there.
You forgot about the third: An increasing minority of people are wanting to disconnect from their digital devices for longer and longer periods to simply get away from all this interconnectivity. There's a growing group of people who simply want privacy, away from the prying eyes of algorithms, data harvesters, and busy-bodies.
My biggest problem with the idea is that you can’t put a case on it because it will block the transparency and people break their phone’s screen enough already
I don't anticipate ever using a transparent phone. But that's because I don't ever anticipate buying a phone that doesn't have a micro SD card and headphone jack. I think head mounted displays (goggles) are going to be the way forward for AR, not phones.
Imagining playing among us with people in person and than you have this phone, it would be like a card game but you know what cards the other person has.
Why would anyone even want to use a transparent device where everyone can see what is on your screen? You'd end up putting a case on it anyway and at that point you may as well just buy a conventional phone.
It's 2022 and we still don't have transparent phones. The one advantage I see is touching the screen from the back so you can see what you're touching. Transparent TVs have one use case too: displays in store windows. A transparent phone wouldn't help much with mixed/augmented reality. Apps like Pokemon Go work because they make the Pokemon appear in a fixed location in the real world as viewed through your phone. With a transparent phone, it would look the same as if you're holding a pane of glass with a sticker on it -- it would be floating there and not further away where it should be. Now if they could combine transparent displays with glasses-free 3D displays, then it could work. Alternately, slim, clear AR glasses that see where your hands are so you can manipulate virtual objects by touching them.
"I've lost my phone" "Where?" "If I knew it would not be lost" "Funny." "I'm serious, I can't see it" "Serves ya right for buying a transparent phone" "....go forth and procreate"
I'm a gadgeteer, and I've done the "Reflect the image from a tablet onto a sheet of clear plastic " and while it works, the first thing I saw was that white and yellow disappeared against the clear background. THIS resulted in the image quality dropping until I put it against a black background, which restored these colors. A clear phone will have the exact same problems.
@Rainbow Eye Guy yeah i read a review from a little kid who said he likes the app and he can spy on his "brother" with the phone... like use the damn camera app lmao.

The issues that i see with transparent phone technology are 1. Privacy: Pretty much anyone near you can see what you're doing on your phone. 2. Durability: Glass is glass and will break so chances of your phone becoming unusable from a drop are more Maybe they'll solve this within a couple of years. Look at how they're making progress in foldable screens
Apple just revealed a new screen material they’ll be using called Ceramic Shield, which is supposed to be around 4x more durable then the glass of the iPhone 11. If used right and adapted further, that could be one thing crossed off of your list. It could possibly be widespread across the smartphone industry in a few years if it receives positive feedback.
To me transparent screens are futuristic because in movies they usually value a cool form over function. Irl even if it was possible it would be annoying because it would be harder to see the screen details with no background and people could spy on your phone by just looking at you from the front.
AR glasses, but we gotta start making clothes Bluetooth compatible so that way when shit happens we can get a little feedback but without all the gear.
Now imagine, you’re sitting on your bed with your shades listening to music (through them)... you get a notif for a raid from your voice assistant, and boom. Your bedsheets, and clothes that you’re wearing start to subtly vibrate, then the boss appears in the corner of your room lol
Fun Fact: Almost every time Arun emphasizes on 'a sub to the channel' (which he does in the most peaceful and un-annoying manner), he uses a new adjective (phenomenal, miraculous, incredible etc.) *And I Totally Love that!* And then there are those channels who are apparently gonna get you bitten by a spider if you don't subscribe and probably annihilate your life if you don't hit the 'Bell Icon' However, at 2:40, you can see that he is having a harder and harder time coming up with adjectives for people to subscribe... That's so natural and shows that not everything he speaks is not scripted

@@saniberry Not when you are projecting your maps/directions/heading as well as MPH and gear out in front of you and do not have to look down and then back up. The distance you travel while just moving your head and eyes down is outrageous, and then there is still time/distance needed for your eyes to focus, gather and process the information, and then move back up and repeat the process. This is why a lot of incidents happen in both a car and on a bike. If you don't have to move your head as much, then your reaction time is even faster, as well as a shorter distance. If the information is in your peripheral vision, then your brain is already processing it to a minute extent, lessening the necessity to even move your eyes and negating the need to move your head. Again, this translates into even more time to see something and react faster. HUD is great on cars. Think about the inside of an attack helicopter pilot's helmet and all of the info in there that he is processing and reacting to, or even more in a fighter jet pilot's helmet. This info is seen by the pilot while also looking out of the front of the aircraft. It is just like people that have their side mirrors adjusted WRONG, and are constantly turning their heads all the way around to see something that is in the blind sot that THEY HAVE CREATED. When you take your eyes off the road and look, you are traveling forward, then your eyes have to catch up, then your brain processes, you react and then turn your head back to the front, focus and react. All of this is happening while your vehicle is moving forward, towards what could be a slow or stopped vehicle, or even one that has or is moving into your lane. You now have less time/distance to react. Had you kept your head forward and only glanced at the PROPERLY ADJUSTED Mirror, your head would never move more than a few degrees to either side and your peripheral vision is still able to see/catch something moving in front of the car. You can then focus on the front of the vehicle and react faster and in a shorter distance traveled.
@@saniberry But you could also have this technology adapted to "smart" helmets that have cameras built into them so you can see what is beside and behind you a lit better than a mirror on the handlebars. Again, only using your peripheral vision to notice changes around you. This is way more natural and safe.

The issues that i see with transparent phone technology are
1. Privacy: Pretty much anyone near you can see what you're doing on your phone.
2. Durability: Glass is glass and will break so chances of your phone becoming unusable from a drop are more
Maybe they'll solve this within a couple of years.

@@saniberry Say that to the new 2021 S class
