    One more final note: My belt broke, so I can't take a picture of the routing. I know! How 'bout a link to my model's belt routing!! Gee that would be great, thanks.

    This mower may have a factory defect.The idler pulley is not level with hydro trans pulley on right side setting on mower It throws belt off.I added washers 1/4 to 5/16 thick to lower idler pulley.

      @AriensChannel  4 года назад

      Hi Alex, we're sorry that this has been happening. Depending on your model number and its serial number, it's possible there could be a known issue. If you reply with the 6-digit model number and the 6-digit serial number for your unit, we can look up to see if there were any service letters issued for that unit.
      Also, we urge you to check with your nearest Ariens dealer. Your local dealer will be able to diagnose and resolve the issue. You can find your local dealer here: www.ariens.com/en-us/dealer-locator

      @@AriensChannel Thank you for following up! My specific model is 915223 with a serial of 075272. I thought it was weird as the belt showed no signs of damaged but appeared to slip off somehow. I check the tensor and all that and everything seemed fine, just "popped off" twice which is strange to me.

    Hi, is this procedure also the same for the XD series (it's not specifically mentioned)? I'm trying to decide between several different makes of zero-turn mower and I really like the way this belt can be changed without having to remove the electric clutch.

    • @AriensChannel

      Indeed it is! The IKON X, the IKON XL and the IKON XD are all built on the same chassis and have identical hydro drive systems, meaning this procedure covers them all.

    Does this video also apply to the Gravely ZTX 52?? Mine has thrown the drive belt with 14 hours on it since new. Haven't gotten into it yet, but looks like when it happened it chewed up the plastic cooling blade mounted under the pulley on top of the left hydrostatic drive.

      Hi there, Steve. We're sorry about that experience you had with your Gravely ZT X, but yes, the wheel drive designs between the Ariens Ikon-series and Gravely ZT-series mowers is identical, so this video will apply to your unit.

    • @AriensChannel
      @AriensChannel  4 года назад +1

      We're sorry about that. While there is no known issue with the hydro belt coming off our APEX-series models, it's possible that a stick or another piece of yard debris got caught in the drive and kicked the belt off. Not that we know that's the issue, but we've seen it before.

Some over paid engineer was paid to design something with pop metal welded to the cage and so now I’m trying to get 1 pully wrapped and I’m done. I’ll never buy this brand again.
