Hello very helpful but my problem is I replaced my drive transmission with one off a Jon Deere and I'm having a problem putting everything back together. I get the concept but I'm missing something I think the little spring on the brake side. I can't seem to figure out the tension pulleys.

HI! That's something I'd have to see. You've changed the whole setup.... I'm sure it'll work, but might require something to be modified or fabricated...

Thanks for the video. It helped make replacing the belt much easier. Strange thing is that the belt is still very loose when supposedly under tension. Any ideas on how to fix that?

HI... so if the clutch is out the belt should have some tension on it. Of course not like a guitar string, but snug.. If it seems really loose there are 2 possibilities.. 1. The belt is the wrong size. 2. Is it routed wrong?

@@JLPicard440 Thanks for the message. One of the torque straps (metal piece from frame to transmission to hold it in place) had snapped and the whole system was out of alignment. Bought a new strap, went on easy. works great!

Excellent! That would have definitely been something I had to see to come up with that one... Sounds highly unusual.. 😊

@@JLPicard440 It was different. The straps are hard to come by. Took a couple weeks to order. I'm not sure what happened but I think the strap on one side lost a bolt and the torque on the transmission snapped the other side. Or maybe I hit too many tree stumps and rocks. 😬

Is it absolutely necessary to remove the front pully? I now the wire would have to be disconnected, but can the belt be slipped over the pully without removing it? I'm concerned about removing the pully. Otherwise great video. Thanks

HI, I'd have to go back and review the video. Usually the belt is on the upper part of the pulley, but is surrounded by 3 pretty heavy tabs that bend down and are made onto the frame. It would be pretty difficult to bend those tabs out of the way to get the belt off... This one might not be like that, but most of them are and that's the reason I do usually remove the pulley from the crankshaft...

@@JLPicard440 Thank you, I found the frame was cracked on the mower (common issue I found out) and that was causing the drive belt to be loose. Got the frame welded and the belt is fine now. Thank you!

Are the new drive axles in the exact same place as the old ones? Same size pulley, etc? If so you should be able to set it up close. I don't know if the same belt will work though unless it's within an inch of the same place...

Hello Friend, the Amazon link you provided for the drive belt is not for the 54" Mower. Please check to verify. Thank you.

HI, It was probably for the particular model number I had? I don't have that mower anymore so I can't look it up again...
