This is way better than what the manual offers. I was able to install a replacement belt in about thirty minutes.
I know my gravely HD 52 is identical mine has a 1/2 inch place for the one half inch socket to go into without removing that spring which can be quite dangerous. I just go under the machine put the one half inch ratchet on it and take the tension off and put slide the belt right on takes about 5 seconds.
Spring came off, belt jumped of and took out one of my little fans. Picked up 2 fans (one for spare) and & new belt. I plan on replacing the belt because it’s been on there since I bought it new. I forgot the year…. Does the model/serial number give the year manufactured? Anyways, thanks for this video.
This mower may have a factory defect.The idler pulley is not level with hydro trans pulley on right side setting on mower It throws belt off.I added washers 1/4 to 5/16 thick to lower idler pulley.
My max zoom60 is slightly different, but pretty much the same. I looked at it, it seems pretty easy, thank you Ariens. I was mowing and suddenly my machine wouldn't drive :-( I was thinking "Oh crap the hydroes broke. One hydro feed tube is sort of crimped, it came like that new. Anyway I towed it into my garage with the old wheel horse and saw it was the belt. I just have to get a OEM belt part #07211500.

any idea after replacing the new belt, when i start the mover, it was not able to move. the belt is not moving when engine started when i move the handle front or back? any help or tips? thanks
Thanks for asking, Thomas. It's difficult to make the assumption, but according to your description, it sounds like the belt doesn't have tension. Double-check that the belt is correctly routed, aligned in all pulleys, and that the idler tensioner spring hook has been reinstalled around the anchor bolt under the frame. 3/8 + 9/16 sockets with extension. 72 1/2 belt for mine. it can be done in the field. easy access. 15 min with walk time. thanks

When the mover is on, I am trying to turn PTO Blades on, and it's Clicking but won't work. What does it mean?
Ive just changed mine on my 48 inch Apex. And there is no way you can do it that easy and without a pit. You cannot do it without a pit as i tried.

It's always easy on a brand new mower that has never been ran.
It’s the same minus possible rusted in bolts… unless you have major collision damage and or modifications.
