Hello, I would like you to ask for help regarding problem I cannot solve for a long time. Owners of classic Porsche models 944, 968, 928, 930 Turbo have this issue. There are almost no tires in the 245/45/16 size for the 9J rims at the back. There is reedition of Yokohama 008P which has very mixed reviews, Michelin MXX3, some Pirellis, Toyos, old Conti SportContact N2... help please!
It’s my high key sorry not sorry thing to nerd out about. I love how 4 tiny donuts of rubber and other composites touching the road makes such a huge difference in the same car.
My absolute favorite way to research tires is this channel. Have bought UHP summer and winter tires as well as all seasons and have never been disappointed. Great work 👍
@tyrereviews Sporty RWD coupe Summer: Continental SportContact 6. Great grip, sidewalls stiff enough for fast steering and feedback yet comfortable and cheaper than Michelin. Winter: Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 Sporty electric car: Comes with Goodyear F1, bought Goodyear Ultra grip performance for winter Wife's car: Continentals all seasons based on your review. I mainly worry about snow, sleet, heavy rain. Summer performance is easily adequate enough.
Same here, I religiously follow this channel and have tried to buy "all weather" tires. Last purchases were Pirelli WeatherActive (fantastic tires), Nokian AT (also terrific, but totally different), Falken WildPeak AT Trail (some of the best do anything tires ever), General G-Max (really good). My use case is two fold - a mostly summer tire that can deal with occasional snow trips or an off-road tire that can handle sharp rocky desert terrain. AFAIK, the only one that does everything is the Falken. I just bought an SUV that came with the Atlas Force UHP - was going to change them but after this test, I'm going to leave them alone.....
Wow! Excellent comparison, which is very useful! I agree that wet performance is extremely important, however we purchase all season tires so we can still drive in light to medium snow, we do not expect deep snow performance because most of us do not live in deep snow territory, and in one of those rare winter storms that drops a lot of snow, we simply wait for the plows to clear the major streets so we actually can still get out sand back, we might only experience a small amount of snow closer to home where residential streets are now plowed as often as major streets so we still drive on light to medium snow for a short distance, so we do look forward to a snow test in light to medium snow. Thank you!
I live in America where is snows too. State of Wisconsin. He didn't test my tires... usually switch to dedicated winter tires November to March. Now n my tenth set of four each tires. I've swapped out to UHP 4 season , Bridgestone Potenza RE908 AS. These new Potenzas do grip well. No tire chirp. ❄️ might keep them on all year!!
Continental smashing it over the past year or so, really stepped up their game where Michelin used to seem to win everything for the past few years previous
Would love to see a luxury suv all season tire test. Need new tires for my GLE and can’t find any reputable reviews anywhere. Feel your tests are the only real ones out there and would love to see what you’d recommend.
@@tyrereviews Currently have Dunlop Grand trek MO now on the GLE they’re decent but on my E350 I put your suggested Michelin pilot sport 4 A/S- they’re great just wish they were a little quieter. Im in the states and in NYC but take the GLE out east to Long Island (Hamptons)in the summer… so ride comfort is most important. I don’t mind spending a little more if it’s worth the comfort. With the GLE it’s more confusing as the variety is broad but have been trying to figure out what’s best out of Bridgestone - ALENZA SPORT A/S Bridgestone - DUELER H/P SPORT Michelin - Latitude Tour HP Michelin - Primacy Tour A/S Pirellis Scorpion Verde A/s Would love to know your thoughts and opinions on these and would ABSOLUTELY LOVE A TEST! Thanks for the response btw YOU ROCK!
After my experience, I would find out what tyres your model was homologated on and stick with those. My view is that it's all very well going by reviews but that's not a representation of how the results of a tyre test will translate to your own car. Car and tyre manufacturers work together on new models but apart from fitting OEMs its can be a matter of luck as to whether or not the tyres will perform as well as expected. Just my view. This probably doesn't apply in all cases but definitely in cars that are anything but run of the mill. This is the conclusion I've drawn after my experience. I've got a second generation M class that I've had for a number of years. The previous set of tyres I had fitted were conti sport contact 2s which I was perfectly happy with. I subsequently found out that these were the tyres this car was homologated with. I had them replaced with sport contact 6s and everything about them was absolutely appalling not because they were bad tyres, just not suitable for this car. They skipped terribly when pulling out of my drive or at any time a fuller but not even a full lock was required. They tram lined badly in anything but perfect surfaces (an experience I've had before when having different wear states in front and rears due to the car being a permanent 4wd which led me to the conclusion all 4 should be replaced at the same time. At the time I thought I could eak out a thousand or so miles from the rears as they had a bit more life in them. Not a great idea I learnt). However, the worst part was the excessive wear. I'd only done around 4k miles and they were wearing badly, prematurely and the fronts were splitting. I wrote to continental who were absolutely fantastic in their response. That may have been partly due to the fact that I could provide them with all of the information they asked for, (Receipts for previous tyres, proof of mileages, photos etc). They gave me the option of sending someone to look at the car, which they didn't see much point in doing or send a new set of sport contact 2s to a fitter of my choice free of charge which I naturally accepted. The difference was immediately noticeable. The thing with cars like this that are permanent 4wd is that there are a lot of forces working against each other particularly when steering hence the more compliant nature of the sport contact 2s. I had mentioned my experience on this channel a couple of times but after having some lengthy conversations with the guy from continental I'll be choosing tyres more carefully in future. This is just my experience and thought it might be of some help. All of this was recently as I had the new tyres fitted in May.
@@tyrereviews I've bought my all season Hankooks thanks to your reviews. And after driving more than 4000 kms with them, I can definitely say they are wonderful on handling and sound level. Thanks again and please keep up with the wonderful content. Cheers
@@tyrereviews objectively, they seem to be very similar on our on the road feel/performance. I feel like they are a little more predictable in the wet vs the michelin's.. tiny bit more tread growl at lower speed but don't have the hollow sounding resonance the michelins did right between 62-66 mph that was annoying. The fact they were a tiny bit cheaper than the pilot sport 4 all seasons was the icing on the cake!
Thanks for this video, still the most comprehensive comparison that includes the new PZero AS Plus 3 and since the Conti DWS06 plus doesn’t come in my cars size which would be my preferred choice, made the decision to buy the Pirelli pretty easy.
I bought the Contis after the previous review and I am quite satisfied with the purchase. In my wife's car, the large broken pavement impacts are fairly hard. However, all the positives outweigh the extra harshness.
I bought the falken G5 Sport before it was discontinued. Definitely going to continue using their tires. My old tires I couldn't even floor it in 2nd / 3rd gear in the rain, falken A/S I literally can almost do 1st in the rain without losing grip.
The P Zero +3s also seem to FINALLY be decent in the rain. Pirelli was almost BFG laughably bad as a brand in the rain but these stick well enough at the expense of a little faster wear. No worse than other tires on my Mustang, though. 30-35K is all I ever get. :) The Continental are softer sidewall than I'd like for a high torque RWD car, and as others have mentioned when testing with heavy cars, the thing is stable but feels a lot more floaty than you''d like. No complaints with the +3s. As for noise and ride - not an issue at all in my car - lol. Like when he tested tires in this Dodge Challenger. Turn up the radio as you can't hear anything anyways :)
@@tyrereviews I just asked, he says he loves them. They are much grippier thru turns and wet roads than the stock Michelin Primacy A/S they replaced but he took an efficiency hit on his Mustang Mach-E, so range is down. #worthit
Can't wait to see the European AllSeason Tyres review... particularly as I need a new set for the upcoming winter, and I know there are some new models coming (e.g. the AllSeasonContact 2) 🤓
@@tyrereviews I am curious to see the performance of the Pirellis as you/Pirelli had already announced in last year's review that improvements are to be expected.
@@tyrereviews The Nexen N'blue 4 Seasons 2 appears to be available in only a few sizes yet, e.g. in 225/40 R18, but not in the very common 205/55 R16 dimension yet 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you for this video! I have been running the Conti DWS06 Plus on my GR86 (first rwd/primarily commuter) for the past 2 yrs and have been very happy with them so far. We finally got snow this year and Im surprised how well they do in snow/ice. In addition Ive done 2 track days on the same tire with great performance as well. A truly great all around tire for me personally
The Continental DWS should be thought as Dry Wet Slush. These are very good as a year rounder if you live in a climate where you have snow that dose not get deep or the roads get serviced. In several inches of new snow you may want something with more bite, but in that sloppy slush the next days after the storm they are very dependable.
Id love to see another test for the top 3, maybe top 4 where we prioritize fuel efficiency and comfort. Being that the top 3 are basically the same for the average driver, the most efficient tire would be my choice
Yeah, the fact that it doesn't hydroplane as much is really what you're looking for in wet conditions on the street. I almost wrecked a few days ago from getting thrown sideways after hitting standing water. That's why I'm here lol.
The Conti DWS06+ are awesome in the rain. Three weeks ago I drove 4 hours in a Wisconsin downpour and they were constantly stable at 75 mph. Not for a minute did I feel that the ST would fail to turn, go or stop as needed, even as the rain came down in sheets. Best I’ve had in 59 years of legal driving.
Great review, as always, but quite disappointed that there are no rolling resistance measurements. Please bring them back, especially considering the increase in EVs (and gas prices)
I have been using Continental Extreme DWS 06 on my Tesla, but I get flats frequently. Its been ridiculous. So I think I will try Hankook iON evo AS SUV. Please review this Hankook tire.
In the U.S., the only dealers for Falken are a coupe of specific chains and smaller dealers. The rub here is that they will charge you $80 or more in installation and smaller fees, making it actually MORE expensive than just getting the Continental or Pirelli at your local chain store that's running a discount or sale.
Thank you for your work. I live in Washington state, we get 3 months of dry, 9 months of rain and 3 days of snow every year. I just purchased the DWS06+ based on your data.
I'm late to the party, but I always enjoy watching these videos. As an owner of both the continental DWS06+ and The ExtremeContact sport 02 (continental sucks at naming), I would definitely agree with what he has said about the DWS06+ in this video. As the data shows it's a phenomenal tire for the segment. It is definitely pricey, however, I can only say it's worth the money if you don't plan on adding any additional power to any car you put this on. I am now pushing 400+WHP on a open diff fwd honda and I needed a summer tire that would cope with the extra power. I have used this tire in the snow and it leaves a lot to be desired in the winter. It will get you to A and B as long as you can control the amount of throttle you give it. I wouldn't be surprised if continental passes Michelin in all categories here soon as it makes for fantastic competition and better products for everyone to enjoy. Hopefully i didn't piss off too many people here as I am only sharing my experience, thank you.
@@joerichardson6107 Yes, two completely different tires, built for very different purposes. WHY does everyone insist on comparing 300-340 tread wear pure SUMMER tires to 400 to 600 tread wear ALL SEASON tires??? It makes NO sense at all.
Continental Extreme Contact DWS06s have been on my 1987 535is for several years. I run then in warm weather only. They remain true and are wearing quite evenly. I expect they will last and run true down to the wear bars. I just put them away for 2023. I rotate them at the start of each warm season. The tires look good and feel good, giving great confidence in cornering and stopping .They were at a good price point for how high a rating they received at the time of purchase. I have yet to break these tires loose in hard cornering on dry pavement. I feel very confident pushing until the first chirp or squeal comes on. That is some scary fast cornering, because the tires are loath to protest much, good fun.
I'm on my 2nd set of Continental DWS06+ and they are great in everything but snow. Then again, I drive a FWD hatchback, which sucks in snow to begin with.
I put the BFGs on my Golf Alltrack several months ago and I'm happy (but not ecstatic) with them; there are very few choices in appropriate tire sizes for my car in the US! I like the sporty feel, the ride is firm but well controlled, wet performance isn't amazing but it's good enough; I do experience that scrubby feel with them, they're not the grippiest tires but they do feel really nice at a ~7/10ths sorta trot. Not very quiet but not problematically loud. I'm hoping their tread life is good, I've just put a few thousand miles on them so far. I like having the M+S rating on the sidewall in case I can skip chain controls but I haven't been to the snow for a few years so I don't need the tire's performance focused on snow and ice.
Nice to know. I just bought the BFGs the other week. Of this video comes out the week after -__-. Woulda bought the falcons knowing what I know now but I got a good deal on the BGFs so I can’t get too upset
That is the problem (the SEVERE lack of usable tire SIZES offered, especially amongst the top tier 'major' brands; looking at YOU Conti and Michelin!!) here in the states, which the Brits and Euros NEVER have to deal with, at all! Unless you are piloting a huge pickup truck, SUV road tank, or a $100K+ supercar, these companies just refuse to bring over the multiple sizes very readily available overseas (most especially the sub 18" diameter varieties) in ANY of their models. :( :(
Cool review thanks as always. An idea of unexplored tire side: with the expanding number of electric vehicle with large battery, the weight is increasing. All tyres manage equally this added weight or some manufacturer are better with heavy cars ? (Inside the tyre max load specifications)
I enjoy this content, so am adding a few words to trigger the tracking algorithms and help the lad get paid. Living in So California I don't see a lot of rain or snow, but went with all season performance tires for the vette because I anticipate cold mornings camping in the Sierra mountains . Went with good year because if I need tires away from home, they are easy to get in America, unlike , at times Michelins. Most guys in my area run michelins, because it is an easy choice, and not everybody makes the somewhat unusual sizes corvettes need. Would have gone for the continental, but read conflicting measurements about the outside diameter being slightly smaller than Goodyear, which I doubted, but didn't want to chance it. I knew the Goodyear brand provided more than I needed, except in an emergency, and was originally OEM, so little chance of being slightly undersized , even though I am not running the OEM runflats. Also, I live around where a Goodyear blimp is based, and the sight of that airship power sliding across the clear blue sky down by the beach on a windy spring day, just made me want to buy tires.
Good test . Enjoyable video. I like Falken as I used to have them on a Gti and was very impressed . So , I think these will go on my Cupra St four wheel drive next spring when I take the winters off which will then need binning
Wish the Firestone Firehawk AS V2 was included here. I haven't been able to find any reviews or objective testing on it, but I have a set and they're at least as good if not better than my last set of General Gmax AS 05s. (Hard to tell because of the inherent new vs old bias) Edit: would also be interesting since Firestone basically went with the same line of thinking as Continental's DWS in terms of tread design.
@tyrereviews The Firehawk Indy 500s are also very interesting in the summer tire category. They tend to be CHEAP compared with others, but I knew a guy who put them on a Volt (of all things), and it melted faces.
I have the conti dws06+ and its a phenomenal tire. Though i havent had the opportunity to drive much in heavy rain or light snow, its great even in the dry. The perfect everyday tire.
I have only bought the extreme contacts for my IS300 and I absolutely love them. I can comfortably do 50-60mph in a complete downpour and they keep up very well in snow storms up here in Maine. If I haven't beached my car on unplowed, heavy snow they are pretty much unstoppable. More or less anything up to 4/5 inches unplowed is no problem at all. And they absolutely eat up slushy roads too.
Little tid-bit to keep in mind when you have to live with these tires: The Continentals have this weird vibration when first getting up to speed in the morning, almost like the compound is so soft that as the vehicle sits overnight the tires flat-spot. This has happened to me on two different sets, different sizes, on two different vehicles. Otherwise I don't have any complaints about the tires. For context my daily commute is 25ish miles one-way on interstates.
Continental ContiPro Contact is a AA traction rated tire...good for almost all seasons, even moderate snow. BUT low tread life for that extra traction.
Been running General GMax AS 05 on different vehicles. Lexus IS, Honda Accord, Honda Civic Type R. Looks like they are in this video, let's see how they do!
So i just changed my rear tyres on my BMW from MPS4S to Conti Sport 7's and my traction control light is coming on a lot more now so i think thats a pretty good test ❤
I have two cars and live in CH and have on one car classic winter and summer tyres and on the other all season Vredstein Quatrac Pro. I prefer all season with no feeling of difference in handling in summer and winter. Of course I am not driving on race tracks but quick on Autobahn 😎
I certainly HOPE so, between the severe side wall bubbling on my original Ziex UHP all seasons about 20 years ago, to the much reported de-lamination of the tread strips on their recent batches of RT660 200 tread wear track/autocross tires, they NEED to remain vigilant on quality control. 😉
Thanks for your eval video from a super competent driver standpoint. That new Falken rated high in smoothness and quiet in addition to your super high performance eval. I’m looking to replace tires on my Camry V6. The General as-05 is rated highly for a street tire not driven like a maniac.
Almost a year later I just got a set of General GMax AS 07 for my 2020 Honda Civic Sport. I feel like the General is "looser" than the BFGoodrich GForce Comp2 AS+ that I had(both 235/40R18 on Motegi MR131 Traklite). I felt more confident with the BFGs. When I wear these Generals out, I'm thinking about getting a set of those Pirellis. I have Bridgestone Blizzak WS90s for the snow, and a 1979 Dodge W150 Power Wagon with 31x10.50R15 BFG KO2s for the snow.
Consistently excellent content. Why no Michelin Pilot Sport AS4? I have them and can’t think of a single thing they don’t excel in except maybe deep snow. Luxury car quiet, luxury car comfortable, mid-tier summer tire-like grip in the dry (on the street), supremely confident in the wet, excellent fuel economy and incredibly long wearing. My GTI has 320 hp and 350 lbs./ft and the fronts are still at 8/10ths with one rotation after a year and I drive like an ahole more often than I should. I’m VERY particular about tires and I love them.
In Canada. If you buy set of Conti aftermarket tires. They offer road side assistants and road hazard. Im not sure if they will get 80,000 KM even with regular rotation and wheel alignment 🤔
What is the environment temperature for these tests? Would be interested in dry and wet handling in cold temp. The summer tires also have pretty good wet performance in general if the temperature is high, so the reason for choosing all seasons is the cold weather performance, as well as not being completely undrivable in light snow.
thanks for the review. I have a Challenger RT Scat Pack 1320. I have the General RS on there now. 30k tires that are mostly done at 15k. I haven't even had it to the track and it's my daily car. I hope to find something that last longer without being too expensive.
Fantastic review as always. I've had the Continental on my car for about 3,200 miles. The tread wear is pretty fast but it's been extremely hot here. I had to redeem the warranty because a tire blew out on me (I curbed it once and this heat just killed it). That said, the tire is quiet, linear, and very responsive. Fuel economy always drops on new wheels for me but this dropped less than other tires. All-in-all, I'd recommend the tire. I'm happy to know I made a good choice back in May when I bought these for half your price (17s). Also, the wet testing is the most important for where I live. We see that more often in the transitional seasons than anything else. So, I appreciate the weighting in this category.
Tirerack tested the BFGs against the Falkens, and their laptimes were extremely similar on a BRZ. I wonder if some tires might be more designed around smaller sizes/lighter cars and don't translate as well to the hellcat with larger tire sizes.
Currently running the Contis on my Focus ST. Big fan of the handling and traction. Biggest 2 issues are wear, got about 20000 miles and they are shot. Second thing is flats, it has been ridiculous.
Continentals DWS06 PLUS on my wife’s BMW X4 M40 cupped out after 22k. Very surprised. Could be a balance issue? Also, showing wear as I do my own depth measuring.
@@RandomGuyDan That is the one drawback making me hesitant to buy these Contis as my next daily driver wheels tire, that total lack of an XL rated side wall in the sizes I need/could possibly use. That, and the surprising, and disappointing amount of people on here stating just how easily, and readily they flat. ☹
New tire test idea (i could not find any videos on your channel yet): testing All Season tires vs Summer tires, in a summer environment (temperature must be above at least >25°/30° celsius degree, like in Southern Europe). Winter tires vs All season tires, in a winter environment is already out, only this one is missing, and i think the results will be very interesting.
I bought the Generals 245 40 17 rear and 225 45 17 rear for $465 after tax. About $250 less than the Continentals. I don’t see myself putting tons of miles on my 22 year old BMW 330Ci 5MT as it’s a secondary vehicle and I intend to get another set of wheels and tires for AutoCross and eventually track.
Had Continental DWS 06 for 2 years, 12k km on my 335d but found them lacking in both noise, comfort and handling. Even compared to the OEM Michelin pilot sport summer tire that were run flats, they weren’t any quieter or more comfortable. I recently sold the Continentals and installed Michelin Pilot A/S 4 tires and am really happy with them. They are better than the Continentals in every way in my subjective opinion. I can’t say that I have any objective data and this is purely based on dry highway driving on decent roads.
Just put the Pirelli PZero AS Plus 3 on my Audi S5, replacing a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4. Compared to the Michelin, the Pirelli’s are virtually silent.
There's no maguc wand to decide which tyre is best. It depends on the car itself. I've been driving BMWs most of my life mainly 5 series and X5. My last 2 cars were a 530d and X5 50d. Didn't like the oem Continental fitted on both of then. The 530d felt much better on Michelin. More precise, better dry and wet grip and braking, less noise and tracking. On the other hand Falken suited the X5. The 530 was 19" and the X5 20".
Running the continentals, dws, dws-06 and thus coming winter the dws-06 plus for almost 14 years on my daily drivers. My cars over the last 14 years I dailied through winter here in Toronto Canada with 2 baby seats in the back : 03 E46 m3 02 Camaro SS 05 CTS-V 15 mustang gt pp 19 mustang Bullitt 16 bmw M4 My m4 is stage 2 tuned and in this weather the dws-06 can put the power down. Why do I run all seasons for winter ? They are more than capable, they drive and feel like a summer tire, even through winter and they wear 2-3x more than blizzak lms I’ve had in the past.
The question is; in the rain and light snow, how do UHP all-season tires compare to regular all-season tires like the Pirelli Scorpion Zero, and even the Pirelli Weatheractive? If I buy UHP tires, will I be happy in the bad weather, or wish I had the others? I just want it all 😊. Cheers, Tony
Great test, current toying between the Conti’s and Goodyear Vector 4seasons; I live near London. Now need to see a snow test of these please!! 😁 not that we get much of that here lol
Fair warning, this comment is a very American comment... XD I have a 2012 Ford F150 that I have recently purchased as my work truck and daily cruiser. I am struggling to pick tires for my vehicle. I would love to see 2 videos: One for SUV/Truck Summer Highway tires, and the other for SUV/Truck Winter Tires. The all terrain tires are nice, but I dont need them for my work is barely off road, if any. Majority of my miles are in town and on highway. I wish there was one tire for each category to make these decisions easy!
Any update on when the snow performance video with this group of tires is going to drop? Winter/snow is just around the corner here and I'm very curious as to how the Falken FK460 compares the to AS4 and DWS06 +!
Same. They release, then hype up their pure summer Pilot Sport 5, which gets astonishing reviews from almost every tire tester out there, then even after being available in Europe/rest of the world for over 2 years, it is STILL not readily available in the U.S. yet in anything but larger OEM high zoot cars' sizes. 😠 They will NEVER allow me to have this perfect for my needs/uses, highly rated STREET tire (vs. 200 tread wear autocross/open track) tire in the actual size I need (215/40-17). Whereas there are thousands of them sitting on the racks of the Euro/Brit warehouses and dealers shelves. 🤬 (So it is NOT like they do not exist!)

Thanks for the response btw YOU ROCK!
Oh and I have 255/50/19
After my experience, I would find out what tyres your model was homologated on and stick with those.
You are a GOD to this community. Thanks for all your efforts.
Glad to help
@@tyrereviews I've bought my all season Hankooks thanks to your reviews. And after driving more than 4000 kms with them, I can definitely say they are wonderful on handling and sound level. Thanks again and please keep up with the wonderful content. Cheers
One review solved all confusion I had picking new shoes for my wrx. Phenomenal job, backed with data
Yessss!! just recently switched from michelin pilot sport all season 4 to the new continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 plus ..
what did you make of the change?!
AMAZING how professional tire-testing can go! Incredibly good video! THANK YOU! I got the Falken Azenis FK460.
Thanks for this video, still the most comprehensive comparison that includes the new PZero AS Plus 3 and since the Conti DWS06 plus doesn’t come in my cars size which would be my preferred choice, made the decision to buy the Pirelli pretty easy.
Finally the BFG COMP-G 2 AS in a test!!
Damn they suck
I bought the Contis after the previous review and I am quite satisfied with the purchase. In my wife's car, the large broken pavement impacts are fairly hard. However, all the positives outweigh the extra harshness.
Glad you like them
Continental tires are great!
The Continental are softer sidewall than I'd like for a high torque RWD car, and as others have mentioned when testing with heavy cars, the thing is stable but feels a lot more floaty than you''d like. No complaints with the +3s. As for noise and ride - not an issue at all in my car - lol. Like when he tested tires in this Dodge Challenger. Turn up the radio as you can't hear anything anyways :)
Been on the Continentals for a little while and had the displeasure of driving in the snow (I hate snow) as well. I would absolutely recommend them!!!
Probably going to end up putting the DWS06 Plus on my 3-series. I’m excited to watch your snow comparison
My buddy just bought a set of the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06+ tires entirely based on this channel's recommendation.
Does he like them?
@@tyrereviews I just asked, he says he loves them. They are much grippier thru turns and wet roads than the stock Michelin Primacy A/S they replaced but he took an efficiency hit on his Mustang Mach-E, so range is down. #worthit

Can't wait to see the European AllSeason Tyres review... particularly as I need a new set for the upcoming winter, and I know there are some new models coming (e.g. the AllSeasonContact 2) 🤓
Out in Sept, sadly I didn't get the asc2 in time but I'm planning something extra.

Agreed!
I absolutely LOVE this channel as I have a bit of a 'thing' for tyres 😊.
One of us, one of us
I Mean, your intro, I'm getting the popcorn out cos there's so much new stuff, a rear-drive muscle car..🍿
I hope it was worth it!
Id love to see another test for the top 3, maybe top 4 where we prioritize fuel efficiency and comfort. Being that the top 3 are basically the same for the average driver, the most efficient tire would be my choice
High performance Continentals don’t last, based on my experience.
Vredestein performed very well in Tirerack's testing, especially in the wet. Very interested to see different results in this test.
Yeah, the fact that it doesn't hydroplane as much is really what you're looking for in wet conditions on the street. I almost wrecked a few days ago from getting thrown sideways after hitting standing water. That's why I'm here lol.
Awesome tire test! For the next one we need the Michelin CC2 vs UHP All Seasons in a 392 Charger!😁
yep i need to see betwent he dws016 vs cross climates
The Conti DWS06+ are awesome in the rain. Three weeks ago I drove 4 hours in a Wisconsin downpour and they were constantly stable at 75 mph. Not for a minute did I feel that the ST would fail to turn, go or stop as needed, even as the rain came down in sheets. Best I’ve had in 59 years of legal driving.
Legal driving...good one.
Focus or Fiesta (ST)??
@@nofascistsonmywatch: It’s a 2013 Focus ST. But I doubt there would be any difference.
As a DWS06 Plus owner, I concur, its just such a good tire and good price too.
Glad we agree :)
Falken Azenis on my 03 C4S. Very happy with them. THey also have way better thread wear rating than Continental or Pirelli at a budget-friendly price.
Those Falkens are living up to the hype. Great review as always.
I'm glad they did!
I told yall this 6 months 😂😂😂
I'm really happy with my set of Vredestein Quatrac tires!
Great review, as always, but quite disappointed that there are no rolling resistance measurements. Please bring them back, especially considering the increase in EVs (and gas prices)
Was planning to get the continental but the Vredestein is on sale for $600 so went with those.
Looking forward to seeing how the FK460 does in the snow/cold testing hopefully soon!
I have been using Continental Extreme DWS 06 on my Tesla, but I get flats frequently. Its been ridiculous. So I think I will try Hankook iON evo AS SUV. Please review this Hankook tire.
I recently bought the P Zero AS UHP. Love them on my BP Mazda3 hatchback.
I'm getting ExtremeContact Sport 02s put on my Miata tomorrow, replacing the DWS06+. How would you say the difference was?
Run the dws in the late fall to early spring and the ES in the warmer months
That is some scary fast cornering, because the tires are loath to protest much, good fun.
no criticism but the way you describe the finer points of each tire is like listing to the 'tire edition' of a wine-tasting exercise ;-)
I'm on my 2nd set of Continental DWS06+ and they are great in everything but snow. Then again, I drive a FWD hatchback, which sucks in snow to begin with.
They're pretty good in snow for the class!
I finally waited until you updated the video. I'm so excited, bro.
Hope you enjoyed it!
Glad you're sort of happy with them :) Please get a review on www.tire-reviews.com if you have the time
Nice to know.
Needing to see a 2022 inch SUV only road tyre test...any chance??? 😅😊👍👏👏👏✌️
With that tire size it's possible (likely) that the good UHP patterns will be the good UHP SUV patterns, ie Sport Contact 7, Pilot Sport 4 SUV etc

Maybe XL load vs SUV tire 🤔
Nice review, the General G-max A/S 05 is being replaced by the A/S 07. Are you going to be testing them anytime soon?
Cool review thanks as always. An idea of unexplored tire side: with the expanding number of electric vehicle with large battery, the weight is increasing. All tyres manage equally this added weight or some manufacturer are better with heavy cars ? (Inside the tyre max load specifications)
Tires evolve and so does your content. I'm a man and I don't like rubbers so big congrats lol
Thanks. I think!
I like that goodyear, not very good in snow but a fun tyre
Once again thank you very much!!!!
Great video as always!! One question, which UHP all season tyres are available in Europe? Since, usually most of them are only for the US market

I'll try and get them next time!
@tyrereviews The Firehawk Indy 500s are also very interesting in the summer tire category. They tend to be CHEAP compared with others, but I knew a guy who put them on a Volt (of all things), and it melted faces.

Great comparison thanks again.
Id love if you could review the Falken Ziex 960A/S it’s an excellent UHP AS tire with a very reasonable price and 65k warranty with 640 tread wear.
Such great info. Also jealous of your test car. Manual Hellcat is my dream car. Hope you use this car on the summer tires test. Fantastic job.
It's a big thing but lots of character!
I've also noticed that!
Where the Michelins PS AS4 data? I know they’ve been tested before, but I can see a way to compare them to this cohort.
:o
I had good luck with the general gs-05s. I never really found myself wanting more in the real world.
I'd like to see the new(er) GS-07s included in the next all season test he does, to see if they move up the list at all with any improvements. ;)
Nice :)
Falken quality is groing every year !
Really is
I certainly HOPE so, between the severe side wall bubbling on my original Ziex UHP all seasons about 20 years ago, to the much reported de-lamination of the tread strips on their recent batches of RT660 200 tread wear track/autocross tires, they NEED to remain vigilant on quality control. 😉
Thanks for your eval video from a super competent driver standpoint. That new Falken rated high in smoothness and quiet in addition to your super high performance eval.
I’m looking to replace tires on my Camry V6.
The General as-05 is rated highly for a street tire not driven like a maniac.
Great test and very pertinent with that car.
I was talking with a friend of mine about your reviews today , eheh 4s tires 🏎🏎
:D
Consistently excellent content. Why no Michelin Pilot Sport AS4? I have them and can’t think of a single thing they don’t excel in except maybe deep snow. Luxury car quiet, luxury car comfortable, mid-tier summer tire-like grip in the dry (on the street), supremely confident in the wet, excellent fuel economy and incredibly long wearing. My GTI has 320 hp and 350 lbs./ft and the fronts are still at 8/10ths with one rotation after a year and I drive like an ahole more often than I should. I’m VERY particular about tires and I love them.
Mentioned in the video.
Sadly very warm, I'd hoped to do it earlier in the year but life got in the way. Around 30c ambient.
thanks for the review.
Get a review up on www.tire-reviews.com sometime, sounds like you have some good experience :)
You need to start doing affiliate links in the description for all these tyres! You are missing out on lots of money.
A good idea, but the issue is the global nature of the audience. I'll work on it!
Quite shocked the BFG scores so poorly... But results are results! Appreciate the info!
Tirerack tested the BFGs against the Falkens, and their laptimes were extremely similar on a BRZ. I wonder if some tires might be more designed around smaller sizes/lighter cars and don't translate as well to the hellcat with larger tire sizes.
Nice review. The one thing I’d like to see in any/all tire reviews is it’s Tram-lining characteristic’s.
Contis are great, I've owned all three brands & currently have pirelli
Great review, any idea when we might see the update on snow performance?
Currently running the Contis on my Focus ST. Big fan of the handling and traction. Biggest 2 issues are wear, got about 20000 miles and they are shot. Second thing is flats, it has been ridiculous.
Yikes, generally the wear seems good, youhaving a lot of fun? :D
Continentals DWS06 PLUS on my wife’s BMW X4 M40 cupped out after 22k. Very surprised. Could be a balance issue? Also, showing wear as I do my own depth measuring.
This has been an issue with mine too. They seem to have a softer sidewall and the factory 20" wheels on my car have taken a beating on Chicago roads.
@@RandomGuyDanget out of Chicago then…..
New tire test idea (i could not find any videos on your channel yet):
testing All Season tires vs Summer tires, in a summer environment (temperature must be above at least >25°/30° celsius degree, like in Southern Europe).
Winter tires vs All season tires, in a winter environment is already out, only this one is missing, and i think the results will be very interesting.
Good review, thanks. The Challenger Super Charger sounded great also.
I agree the BFGs are not tops, but certainly adequate (on my E46 325 convertible in 17"s) - esp. at only $600/set!
Thinking about the Perilli and continental. I might go perili.
Just put the Pirelli PZero AS Plus 3 on my Audi S5, replacing a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4. Compared to the Michelin, the Pirelli’s are virtually silent.
Fun interesting video. Since you got married, we haven't seen a BMW M3 or Porsche 911 as a test vehicle. Wife's influence? 😂
as usual :)
I actually still own my e92 and I'm shopping for an f80, so the M3s will return :D
My cars over the last 14 years I dailied through winter here in Toronto Canada with 2 baby seats in the back :
03 E46 m3
02 Camaro SS
05 CTS-V
15 mustang gt pp
19 mustang Bullitt
16 bmw M4
My m4 is stage 2 tuned and in this weather the dws-06 can put the power down. Why do I run all seasons for winter ? They are more than capable, they drive and feel like a summer tire, even through winter and they wear 2-3x more than blizzak lms I’ve had in the past.
Need to see the winner against segment leaders Michelin and Bridgestone
Id love to see how the yokohama Advan AS sport+ compare
The question is; in the rain and light snow, how do UHP all-season tires compare to regular all-season tires like the Pirelli Scorpion Zero, and even the Pirelli Weatheractive?
If I buy UHP tires, will I be happy in the bad weather, or wish I had the others?
I just want it all 😊.
Cheers, Tony
Great test, current toying between the Conti’s and Goodyear Vector 4seasons; I live near London. Now need to see a snow test of these please!! 😁 not that we get much of that here lol
Fair warning, this comment is a very American comment... XD
I have a 2012 Ford F150 that I have recently purchased as my work truck and daily cruiser.
What's going on with Michelin? I just had the Pirellis fitted on my C43 because I couldn't find the A/S 4's anywhere.
they're a popular tyre!
After having a set for over a year and counting, I can definitely see why. Outstanding tire.
They will NEVER allow me to have this perfect for my needs/uses, highly rated STREET tire (vs. 200 tread wear autocross/open track) tire in the actual size I need (215/40-17).
Whereas there are thousands of them sitting on the racks of the Euro/Brit warehouses and dealers shelves. 🤬
(So it is NOT like they do not exist!)
