@@TheDude50447 the car will get the estimated fuel consumption set by the company,if driven at assessed speeds. However like with all other makes, excessive speeds will consume more fuel, especially after 130 klm.
@@quercus5398 In the city it works just fine but on the Autobahn I was surprised how the fuel consumption went up at speeds of around 130 kmh. Did some digging and found out that especially small turbocharged engines dont have sufficient cooling on the hot Turbo side and to a lesser degree the engine block. So what they do under sustained higher load scenarios is inject extra fuel (but no air) to just cool those parts down. Its part of the downsizing trend which isnt an issue when the fuel consumption is tested for. Also apparently another side effect is that due to higher pressures and more parts (especially the turbos) on the engine that in recent years engine repairs have become more expensive and more frequent.
@@TheDude50447 Basically like every other vehicle out there, one must inform themselves about the product then decide.....the two cylinder engine even though calls for sportiness, one has to baby the turbo, , Let it run a couple of minutes after arriving, and than there is lucky factor, once in a while out comes one vehicle that just wants to give you trouble.
@@quercus5398 You are correct that its an issue with every turbo charged engine but it gets worse the smaller the engine. Few months ago I watched a test here on youtube (cant remember where or I would send it) where they said that on the Motorway at around 130 kph a V8 Mustang has pretty much the same fuel economy as turbo charged 3 cylinders. Its a problem with how the fuel consumption figures are tested for. Long story short. The smaller your engine and the bigger the turbo on it the higher you will be above the claimed fuel consumption figures while its the opposite for bigger engines. In the light of that I opted to go for Mazdas 2 liter skyactiv x engine 2 months ago. After 4000 km now of autobahn and city driving my average fuel consumption is 5.5 litres.

It's because a car that completes the challenge being the second is not the same as a car that doesn't complete the challenge at all. You get 0 points if you don't complete the challenge, 1 point if you complete it, but your performance is lower than your competitor's. And 2 points if you're the winner of the challenge. Now, why did the Tesla got 1 point even if it failed the challenge I don't know (probably to close the gap between the 2), but the points system is alright I'd say.

I have seen the park service replaced their cars just recently, about half of them were Land Rover long trucks, the other half were Lada Nivas (both new). I was a bit baffled. I knew Niva was popular but I thought mostly because it was cheap. I approached a guy and asked them did they have to buy the Nivas instead of more LRs due to financial limits but he told me the larger cars like the Land Rover were nearly not as nimble and maneuverable, too big for a lot of forest roads, had too large a turning radius and were also too long. If they had to carry something up with a team of workers, tools etc then it was the Land Rover's job. But if you only needed one or two guys up the hillside with a few hand tools the Niva was much more capable, though it only had a petrol engine of 1.6L, about 70-75hps.

Just keep it simple and assign 1 point to the winner of each challenge.
Panda wins easy 5:1.
This confused me too. I tought they did it that way so they can assign 0 points if a car fails a trial outright, like the Tesla did on the uphill bit around 10:20 - but they still gave it one point. I don't understand the point of that point system.
Guess they secretly kept track of how many challenges they made by that or something.
no, we all get participation points...
