Wow-- I remember driving from Barstow to Las Vegas around 5 months ago. All I remember was that a bunch of people were on the left lane and passing on the right lane.
I remember parts of Barstow and Victorville. In '12, our brigade went to training, and we transported every vehicle we could from M.C.L.B. to N.T.C. Good times.
I remember used 1-15 for a short time when I went down to Vegas. Wasn't on it long though, I don't think. Just long enough to get back to the north-south road we were using to go back north. LOL
Make the desert come alive indeed! I almost forgot what that segment was like since I haven't been to the LA metro region in a few years. Guess I'll get a refresher in two weeks! Good production!
@Freewayjim: Thanks a lot, Jim! Had lots and lots of fun, editing this video at Starbucks today, while watching the stats and scores update itself on nfl.com, lol. I've gotta start catching up on the rest of your releases soon.
Beautiful job on this video FWB. Just saw that this is one of the most dangerous Interstates of all. Featured on Dangerous Drives. Really enjoyed this.
I wholeheartedly agree with you...definitely a very unique experience. I'm just catching up with more comments on this video, and found yours. Thanks for watching! I actually release videos that are *much* more polished, so if you want to see another video that goes through semi-arid territory, check out my I-5 Grapevine video that I released over a month ago. I-5 in California, The Grapevine in Both Directions
Nice Ride :D I haven't seen 1-15 California since I moved to Henderson, NV in 2009, The 1-15 from Los Angeles to Las Vegas gives me great memories..Las Vegas was my Favorite Travel Destination as a kid..now I live in Vegas xD Thanks for the Video =) 5/5
@freedybox: Were you referring to the Mile Marker 153 sign, at the beginning of the video? If so, that's a standard mileage marker that is employed in most U.S. states, to indicate the mileage of the roadway. California is perhaps the only state that doesn't utilize green mileage marker signs, but I still use them in California videos. Thanks for watching!
First time I've read a comment like this, but a valid question. Shady things do happen along the I-15 corridor...a number of dead bodies have indeed been recovered over the years, not far from the freeway right-of-way.
Awesome work Brent! I recently drove from Northern CA to the Grand Canyon via I-5, CA-58, and I-40. On the way back I took US-93 from Kingman over the new Hoover Dam bypass and took I-15 from Vegas back to Barstow before ultimately heading back to I-5 via CA-58. I've never driven the stretch of I-15 between San Bernardino and Barstow. This video was nicely done and I appreciate the views!
That bus at 5:40, I've been on one before where the driver was doing that slight swerving back and forth! I HATED that feeling! It made me wanna go up there and ask him why the hell he was doing it and to knock it off! lol
Destination: Las Vegas! One of my most favorite places on Earth. Great video though, glad to see you're back. You haven't posted anything in quite a while.
Hey, glad you enjoyed watching! I just released a brand new video (much more polished than this one), showcasing I-5 North over its first 21 miles over the Tehachapi Mountains in Southern California. Feel free to drop by and check it out.
I went to Laughlin Nevada in December 2022 and I like interstate 15 more than highway 395 since there’s more lanes to pass other cars. If you have ever driven on the 395 it’s a one lane road In some places you will have cars trying to pass on the other side. I like the 15 more since it’s wider and has a divider in the middle so people stay on there side.
Nice work Brent! Just got back from Vegas tonight actually. I like driving rural interstates that are 6 lanes. Not too many of those around, I-75 through S. Georgia and Florida is about the only other one I've driven. It makes sense for busy corridors, even if they go through large rural stretches. I wonder if Victorville to Vegas will be ever be entirely 6 lanes? Anyways, great video.
Ok Brent thats pretty dog-darn fast. 150 Miles to Las Vegas at 380 MPH. 380 MPH / 60 = 16 secs per mile. 150 miles times 16 is 22 Minutes. So Brent when are they going to make cars that go that fast. It seems that you and Jim are the only ones driving at break-neck speed and surprising... No cops are chasing you haha (just joking around). Great Video Love the music.
@FreewayBrent haha, I agree with you and some of the videos posted on youtube are pretty scary watching someone drive 200MPH on their motorcycles. The only thing that comes to mind is: I hope you know what your doing cause if you crash its not only going to be nasty to watch but deadly as well.
I am also wondering something else; it is a strange question but I am just a very curious person. LOL Do you usually listen to the dance/techno style of music that you put on your videos, or pretty much just use it on the vids to accent them?
interstate 15 crosses the barren Mojave Desert north of Barstow and i would like for Interstate 15 to be widen to three lanes on the northbound and southbound side between Yermo road and Yates well road near the California/Nevada border.
@funboy0420: lol, I sometimes wish we could go this fast, but I wouldn't want to be driving at those speeds. Maybe a high-speed bullet train or a Maglev train, but I would shit in my pants if I tried even 200 MPH.
Wow-- I remember driving from Barstow to Las Vegas around 5 months ago. All I remember was that a bunch of people were on the left lane and passing on the right lane.
.. great ride - luvved the 3.2.1. go! ..
Like that slow mo shot of powerlines that power San Diego and LA from Hoover Dam at 2:30, great vid! ;)
Very nice video! excellent editing and the quotes about the desert were a great touch. The music worked well too, 5*
I remember parts of Barstow and Victorville. In '12, our brigade went to training, and we transported every vehicle we could from M.C.L.B. to N.T.C. Good times.
Whew! What a ride! Deserts are beautiful, those quotes you used were just right. Loved it.
I remember used 1-15 for a short time when I went down to Vegas. Wasn't on it long though, I don't think. Just long enough to get back to the north-south road we were using to go back north. LOL
Still impressed by this video Brent! One of your best! and you've done many that I've liked, of course. :)
Another great video, Brent!
Amazing landscape
It really is. Thanks for dropping by!

Again, superb job on this! This songs is sooo sick. Because of your great work on this and choice in music, I'm def adding this to my favorites.
Once again a great video. I wish you and your loved ones a merry Christmas.
I rode through the Mojave Desert a few years back with some friends when we went to Zion for a week. It's still rather tantalizing to watch.
Beautiful job on this video FWB. Just saw that this is one of the most dangerous Interstates of all. Featured on Dangerous Drives. Really enjoyed this.
I think this is my favourite of all your vids - such a good atmosphere
People may think am crazy, but my favorite driving is desert driving! Just something unique about it all.
I wholeheartedly agree with you...definitely a very unique experience. I'm just catching up with more comments on this video, and found yours. Thanks for watching!

Adam Johns Here in Europe we don't get deserts :(
agreed!!!!
I've taken this rift many times before on my way to California, great vid man!!!

I love the pitch Blackness at night on 15 freeway through the Mojave Desert because you can see stars in the sky
In Barstow, there is a busy railroad line. You see a heck of a lot of trains. BNSF and Union Pacific trains. Great view of the powerlines
Man such a good video Ive heard of Barstow but never know what its like to go thru there .
great vid.. I love that drive. I usually do it at around 80mph. At night traffic goes 90 in the opposite direction.
Great video! I've never been out there...the landscape makes me thirsty! LOL!! Keep up the great work with these videos!!

That would, indeed be that major change of scenery you were talking about....
What a "AWESOME" video!
Totally cool footage.
It would be cool to do one from
Albuquerque To Huntington beach CA...
Epic road!
One of the most enjoyable drives we did in America, just loved the desert scenery..
And Vegas at the end... win win!!!
Are you going to release the whole drive to Las Vegas? I'd like to see the entire stretch. Nice one!
thanks! wanna see part II to vegas.
That bus at 5:40, I've been on one before where the driver was doing that slight swerving back and forth! I HATED that feeling! It made me wanna go up there and ask him why the hell he was doing it and to knock it off! lol
Freewaybrent this is awesome .well ive been to las vegas on this road for two times.dude I just wanna meet you
Someone was on their way to Vegas :)
I stop at that McDonalds in Barstow on East Main Street every time on my way to Las Vegas.
Gotta love how imposing the PATH powerline towers are. One's a HVDC line!
@FreewayBrent
I wish we had high speed trains like that here. Traveling would be so awesome you could get anywhere even faster that you could today.
Destination: Las Vegas! One of my most favorite places on Earth. Great video though, glad to see you're back. You haven't posted anything in quite a while.
oh and that makes every car also in the picture go that fast too
Thank you,that was great.

Ah the Powers from the Hoover Dam traveling south all the way to L.A.
@brilliantgenius1: Definitely a far cry from my most recent videos, that's for sure. Thanks for watching!
@Dalaskan: Eventually, yes. :-) So much other footage to edit, though. I probably need to hire someone to help me out at this point, lol.
Nice vid to
@adogg619: Yeah, it's been a month. My previous releases were US 101 in San Jose, San Francisco and I-80 over the eastern face of the Sierra Nevada.
@FreewayBrent haha, I agree with you and some of the videos posted on youtube are pretty scary watching someone drive 200MPH on their motorcycles. The only thing that comes to mind is: I hope you know what your doing cause if you crash its not only going to be nasty to watch but deadly as well.
@Sazee1000: Thanks a lot!
@jfs1988: To be honest, I've never actually driven US 395 between I-15 and CA 14. I'm assuming it's mostly 2 lane highway?
Power lines from Hoover Dam to Los Angeles 2:33. :)
wow
@rockersk08: Glad you enjoyed, loyal subscriber of mine. Had a ton of fun, editing this particular video.
So, no CBP along this highway towards Pahrump or LV huh?
Try using ellie goulding on one of your videos, and maybe do a test footage. Great job freeway brent
I am also wondering something else; it is a strange question but I am just a very curious person. LOL Do you usually listen to the dance/techno style of music that you put on your videos, or pretty much just use it on the vids to accent them?
The traffic in Barstow was so intense on Dec.30th due to holiday travels. Does it happen all the time there?
@FreewayBrent Las Vegas. I've been there done that twice.
2:45
How do you know that thevspeed of the camera is equivalent to driving 380MPH ?
Very Nice Video, what is this for Song? :) Song name please.
i would feel the same way
interstate 15 crosses the barren Mojave Desert north of Barstow and i would like for Interstate 15 to be widen to three lanes on the northbound and southbound side between Yermo road and Yates well road near the California/Nevada border.
@HoltCalifornia: That does happen sometimes. There are indeed a lot of California drivers who exhibit poor lane discipline.
what do you mean radar enforced? What is that?
@funboy0420: lol, I sometimes wish we could go this fast, but I wouldn't want to be driving at those speeds. Maybe a high-speed bullet train or a Maglev train, but I would shit in my pants if I tried even 200 MPH.
@bondosho: Maybe. :-) :-)
Metallic Madness (Present) zone 2. Sonic CD
that would be awesome
What's the music please?
oh yes, music title given at end!!
The Track is : Zoo Brasil-Crossroads
The best direction. Away from LA
LOL!
Only part I hate about the 15 outside of the traffic is going up the Cajon summit. The rest is a breeze.
Are there a lot of buried bodies out there you think??? Seriously??
It's it me or are there ALOT of ads??
i like it better exploring this area after nuclear disaster on FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS
