There's something soothing about driving through the desert. I also love the drive from Mammoth back down to OC.

I do this drive, to the Bailey Road exit, every day to get to my work. People complain that it is a boring drive I enjoy it and find it relaxing. Your video made it almost fun.

I always love those long I-15 straightaways between Mountain Pass and Baker.....just beautiful scenery! Best time to go is either winter or August during monsoon season where portions of this elevated desert turn green from heavy rains!

At Mountain Pass is an open pit rare earth mine that contains one of the world's largest and richest deposits of rare earth minerals. They're ramping up production at this mine. The mine is to the right in the video on the Mountain Pass summit.

Favoriting this video. I-15 thru the Mojave is not a stretch of freeway that I particularly look forward to, but that's usually because I only drive it on either Friday's or Sunday's, when sections of it become a sea of brake lights, often adding an extra 1 hour of drive time between Barstow and Las Vegas. However, the sections featured in this video are definitely the most interesting. Great work, and I'm going to have to download this track, too.

I drive this stretch regularly in a semi, that climb from Primm up Shadow Mtn. is a pain in the ass when pulling a heavy load, plus this stretch has a new change, there is now a weigh station going southbound after Cima Rd right before the climb

wow, those are some stunning views :O wish we had views like that here in the netherlands. hell, i wish we would even have intersections like you have, for instance , in Dallas. Anyway, nice vedeo again, and the music sounds good too. If i could give it 5 stars i would, but since we can't, thumbs up for the video :)

Drove through here last week. For all the people who think it's a boring drive, I loved it. Easier to stay awake though, since there was so much holiday traffic.

You bet!! Also National Trails Highway (rt.66) between Needles and Amboy is so, so spectacular!!

The highway was there many, many years before this portion of the Mojave Desert, ever became a park or preserve. And besides the Preserve goes left and to the right of the highway for many miles in each direction....it's an enormous park.

To see more of the the preserve; get off I-15N at Nipton Rd. Make a right on Ivanpaw Rd, another right on Morning Star Rd and basically take it 30 miles down to I-40. Stunning scenery is to be seen

I used to drive this all the time as a kid to Victorville, and I remember always being bored out of my mind.
