- video follows i-8 in southern california from california highway 79 through the cleveland national forest and the ko-pah desert / grade . before entering into a valley
Haven't driven in this road when I was visiting California, but gosh, the splendor! This reminds me much of the back-end deserts that I love about southern cali. Good job!
I used to drive that stretch of road every day. I lived in Lakeside and worked in El Centro. Love that drive. Thanks for uploading this. Going up and down that mountain was complete fun. I only had a Hyundai Sonata and I took that hill at 75. I miss it. The roads where I live now are very flat.
where the beach?.

Im from El Centro and I commute almost daily to Santee
not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend for the last few days :)
@Xavier Graysen yea, been watching on Instaflixxer for since november myself =)
Just watched the entire video. Awesome footage, awesome scenery, and awesome video quality. I would drive this stretch of interstate more often, but I never have a real reason to go thru here, but at least now I can take a "virtual" drive on it anytime now. Putting this onto my "favorites" playlist.
@aswchris Concerning lack of guardrails, there are many California roads are like that. There are roads where if you make a mistake, literally, you will fall off a cliff. We hear about it news relatively frequently.
Memory flash, music combined perfect harmony, thanx, haven't been there since 05,love it video
I love this stretch of I-8 and the music complements the video. Thanks for posting.
Amazing video. Love the music as it matches the mysterious landscape of interstate 8.
I miss passing through here on my way to Calexico...
The scenery is amazing. Great road!
For a Europiean like me this is like after landing on the moon or something, such an exotic landscape to be seen! Simply amazing wow.And those boulders?! As if some construction works are going on very heavily somewhere behind those rocks and all that was put there as a result of it.ScrewdUp this is even more than amazing video, you did a fantastic job really,Now,if anyone can help, give me a word that can replace the term "stretch".I know for the literal translation of it but it's not of help.
Absolutely awesome! One of your best!
Amazing video, good sir! This is one of my favorite drives.
Awesome video! This one is my favorite of all your great videos. Have driven this a number of times and I'm always amazed each time at how the landscape changes so fast.
Your best video! Loved it!
....fantastic ride - I missed this one somehow - quite amazing views...
Breathtaking footage! awesome ride, 5*.
Interstate 8 is certainly awesome in this section, and is my favorite for its unique changing elevations and climates.

Cool video!
So different from here in the East. Excellent video!
Man, I like them rock mountains. UB
Very good trip¡¡

That's La Rumorosa Mountain Pass. I live in Mexicali, a city in the Mexican part of Imperial Valley (called Mexicali Valley) and have driven through that stretch several times.
The Mexican stretch of expressway has more curves and the grades are higher, but the scenery is more beautiful, go and drive it, you won't regret! :)
un buen video felicitaciones y saludos desde el PERU
Hey Click, that was really good, I watched the entire video. Your comments and notations added a lot to the enjoyment for me. Although someone commented earlier, I saw you get passed on the right no less than 3 times. It's okay to drive in the left lane IF nobody is coming up behind you but getting passed on the right is a big no no to me. Anyway, keep up the good work and I will be interested to see more of the trip. Denny
Wow this is really stunning! Especially the second half is very pleasing to the viewer :)
I'm surprised by the lack of guardrails though. You can crash with one of those giant boulders quite easy. But this is about as close as an Interstate gets to wilderness I guess...
Awesome video, the hills and mountains make it stand out. Why is there a US Customs Check Point when the Interstate is not at the border. They do the same in Arizona too.
@gerardap: If you haven't been yet, check out Mexico Federal Route 2-D (the toll freeway between Tijuana and Mexicali). I forget the name of the pass, but there's a steep and winding section. If you look down below, you can see all the vehicles that have plunged over the cliffs (apparently, the local governmental agencies don't bother with the costs of retrieving the vehicles). Scary stuff, indeed!
I told you that you would enjoy this stretch of freeway. :-)
THX
The Mexican counterpart of this road is even more spectacular, it's also a modern 4-lane highway. I filmed a video, but it's nothing compared to the awesome ones ScrewdUp shows here!
@Hstylezx408: With Brent's videos, that seems to be more of a pavement issue than a bad setup issue. California, like most states, is probably having trouble fixing its roads due to lack of funding. Some of his non-California videos are pretty smooth.
@SolXabidarra: Yes, that is *exactly* the pass I was thinking of. I want to record it, but I'm not sure of its status, due to the earthquake that struck, not too long ago.
Very nice video. Where do you have the music from? Greets from Switzerland
Wow... what a spectacularly scenic video! Thanks for sharing. I have a question... do you or any of your road filming friends use a sticky pod? I'm thinking of getting a mini, because my regular tripod doesn't balance very well when I tried to film some highways up in Harrisburg, PA... thanks!

Nice video and effects!
What's with the videos in the Southwest U.S.?
@ScrewdUPClickV2
Your videos are great! But they really do have a greenish color cast and it's not subtle. And I think it is added by the windshield. I noticed the same kind of tinting after taking some pictures from inside a car. If you're not bothered by this then it's ok, these are your videos :) But if you'd like to do something about the color cast I would advice you to set a custom white balance before the shooting instead of color correcting in post production.
@FreewayBrent: That may be true, although ScrewdUpClickV2 definitely wins, hands down, for both smooth video and clarity.
@cannedkitty Could it be the tint from the windshield you momo?
@wipandco What editing software do you use?
@Hstylezx408: I've got a bunch of Bay Area videos, including a couple within Sacramento.
The music should've been 'Interstate 8' by Modest Mouse.
No no no this video should have been on US80 the old highway!!!
i missed the forest
It's like I'm playing a level in Rad Racer
Interesting
@ScrewdUPClickV2 the Deadman Pass in Oregon has a nearly 2 mile seperation of freeway. intunegames did a video of it
@TheThunderstorm2 if its possible can you get it?
i couldn't see the black fence.
I really enjoyed the video but why did the lion curse me out? That was really unnecessary
your videos seem to have a blue/green tint to them, cold tones. wouldn't you be able to color correct it in video editing software? i guess thats a small criticism in your otherwise perfect vids
I used to drive the the entire length of I8 in Arizona & from the California-Arizona state line to CA125 when I was a commuter between Backward,1870's,Barbarian,Sh@thole,Loser City Tucson & my home in Spring Valley in the Civilized San Diego area most weekends. My favorite part of I-8 is from the Buckman Springs Road rest area to CA125 & it still is when I go home to the Civilized San Diego area when I go home to visit there for 4 days. I don't leave the San Diego area till 6:00PM on. Monday night to return to where I presently live at in the Backward,1870's,Barbarian,Sh@thole, Loser City Tucson Metropolitian area. My goal is to be out of there by the 2018 Memorial Day weekend for good and head home to the Philippines via the Civilized San Diego area.

Click, if I-8 is technically in the US why do you have to go through customs? Better bring a passport if crusin' I-8 all the way, huh?
Video runs through too fast to enjoy it.
It's a timelapse...
