I'm someone who was born (1964) and grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, but now in Atlanta. Nearly all of my family are still there, including my almost 92-year-old mother. She was born in the Mississippi deltas along with her 10 siblings. There are many stories that we (family members) discussed that I'm sure are in this book. I will get this book, hopefully before I go home to Jackson, Ms, to visit for the Xmas holidays.
This is so true. The brainwashing is at every level to reinforce the divide. The 1% know that if the working poor realize that they are just pawns of different colors, they are in trouble. The system benefits from the poor not working together in large numbers. That’s why they teach history from the 1% point of view, not from the pawns who were sent into harms way to make a few families richer. They call it patriotism so that no one questions the motives, and they say “we” or “us” even though they are rarely in harms way but always taking the winnings.
