I am a white man from Northern Wisconsin. My pastor was a black man from West Texas. He took me in and treated me like a dear son. He pulled me out of the pit of mental illness with gentleness and love and made me a sharp arrow, a preacher of the gospel. We had a conversation on race that lasted 12 years. Never with words but always with respect and honor. He died in 1997 but he left for me a legacy of holiness and ministry that will challenge me for the rest of my life. RIP Pastor Pounds.

Obviously, all sinners are called to repentance. Is that inclusive or exclusive. The exclusive part is true believers in the Father and the Son stop stealing, stop sexual immortality. We accept the sinner but don't accept the continuous lifestyle of sin. Scriptures tell us to mark the false prophets and false teachers and false believers those that continue in their sins and teach others to do the same. These thieves are marked and to be ignored!! If a fellow believer is stealing violation of another commandment, you know "you shall not steal." This is the same with sexual immortality any mental or physical sexual activity except one man and one woman are married under God's authority, any other sexual activity a violation of another commandment " you shall not commit adultery " those that live in a lifestyle of sin and is rebuked and given correction and they repent from thosecsins will be accepted!! Thank you for this discussion. As a Canadian Brit and a Christian myself, I spend a good bit of time on social media trying to defend my faith against the mixture of Republican Christian, Fundamentalist Evangelical, Christian Nationalist voices online. And I see the frequent response from them that I cannot be a "real Christian". Sometimes it is the first response, but even if there is a discussion at all, it is almost always the accusation that closes the discussion. The attitude is always that they are so confident that they are right, and that if I have a different view I am incorrect. And that means I am wrong, therefore evil, therefore demonic. For me, it is a sign that they have run out of discussion points and don't want to continue, but also don't want to leave without having the last word. I used to think of the problem factions in American Christianity as the "lunatic fringe": The Prosperity Gospel, Young Earth Creationism, abortion phobia, and even Flat Earth. It feels like the lunatics have recently taken of the asylum. I currently live literally within sight of your country, just across the river from you. I have lived and worked in your country many times, and I have some good friends there, almost all of whom voted for Trump the first time. But I am fearful for what I see happening there, and for the way that the noisy wing of the Christian faith have become closely associated with politics, with both of those united in using the other to gain earthly power. And I am terrified of those people who have become fixated on single issues, convinced they are right in their beliefs despite evidence to the contrary, from science, from the legal process, or from people who disagree with them. The polarisation is almost absolute, the fixation is deep rooted, and the conviction that those who disagree are demonic is closed-minded. You have an uphill struggle facing you. But please know that you have friends nearby who want you to succeed, and who are praying for you. And that Jesus has already won the war for you.

I believe at the root of this notion of "Christian Nationalism/Nationalists" is the same root Jesus confronted and addressed when the Jews of His day were staunched in their beliefs that the Messiah was the Messiah ONLY for the Jews. They had the patriarchs, the covenants, the law (Moses laws, the Torah) and the promises from God to the Nation of Israel. The early church had to deal with this false teaching also -- Jew vs Gentile, etc., etc. Today it is the White Christians who espouse the fact that Jesus belongs to them and them only ... no room for a Jesus who loves all and welcomes all into His family.

Good discussion, but I think we need to look at the structure of the "church" itself. The word "church' itself. Meaning, the colonial origins and the legacy it left. The English word "church" was added in 1611 under a colonial empire. The structure came from a colonial empire. So, we shouldn't leave that off the table if neither of these were present during the days of Jesus (Yeshua).
"Church" is translated from the biblical word "ecclesia" Its original definition was a group of people or gathering of people, sharing one belief system. It was a greek governmental term meaning the gathering of citizens in a city state. Christians are the church.... the people, not the buildings in which we gather. And we are "citizens" of Christ's currently UNSEEN kingdom that will one day BE SEEN by all. And HE ALONE will be ruler of this kingdom. The Bible teaches "the government (of the world) shall be on his (Christ's) soldiers" And he will rule righteously. We're awaiting a LITERAL kingdom and we are citizens of it. We don't get to change that fact because us humans can't seem get it together. It's a biblical concept. Not a man made concept. In fact, the idea of "government" comes from God himself. The commandments was called "the law". God calls himself the "lawgiver". And he also calls himself the "righteous judge". He calls himself the "Witness" as in a witness in court which testifies for or against us. All these governmental terms are ones that God himself uses to convey his Kingship (through Christ). Well, I don’t think there is anything wrong with voting at all. In fact, the pastors that I listen to and respect would all say we should vote. I am as a Christian however, going to vote my values, the OBVIOUS issues like abortion, gay marriage and the transgender issue. Not looking at someone’s personality to determine who I vote for.

So if you truly love that person, you would warn them that if they truly have faith in Jesus, they must stop being sexually immoral and repent of that sin. So for anyone to say that homosexual activities are OK then you do not love that person because you are allowing that person to go to the lake of fire. Jesus said unless you repent you will perish!! True godly love is not just accepting people in their sins, true Godly love rebukes the sinner to repent!! If you say "well I love my neighbor in their sin you do not love that neighbor if you are not warning them to repent of sin. It's true we all fall short, but we all must face the truth and tell the truth. The greatest love for the lgbtq+ is not to accept their sin but to rebuke them of their sin. Not all love is good!! The LOVE of money is the root of evil, the love of the world with the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life is a bad love an evil love. So don't say love is loveand its all good because it is not all good! Do not change the gospel of Jesus. To have faith means that faith has to have actual works of righteousness or that faith is dead!! One can not just say or feel like they believe and then continue to do works of sin!! I am a white man from Northern Wisconsin. My pastor was a black man from West Texas. He took me in and treated me like a dear son. He pulled me out of the pit of mental illness with gentleness and love and made me a sharp arrow, a preacher of the gospel. We had a conversation on race that lasted 12 years. Never with words but always with respect and honor. He died in 1997 but he left for me a legacy of holiness and ministry that will challenge me for the rest of my life. RIP Pastor Pounds.

Thank you for this discussion. As a Canadian Brit and a Christian myself, I spend a good bit of time on social media trying to defend my faith against the mixture of Republican Christian, Fundamentalist Evangelical, Christian Nationalist voices online. And I see the frequent response from them that I cannot be a "real Christian". Sometimes it is the first response, but even if there is a discussion at all, it is almost always the accusation that closes the discussion. The attitude is always that they are so confident that they are right, and that if I have a different view I am incorrect. And that means I am wrong, therefore evil, therefore demonic. For me, it is a sign that they have run out of discussion points and don't want to continue, but also don't want to leave without having the last word.
I used to think of the problem factions in American Christianity as the "lunatic fringe": The Prosperity Gospel, Young Earth Creationism, abortion phobia, and even Flat Earth. It feels like the lunatics have recently taken of the asylum.
I currently live literally within sight of your country, just across the river from you. I have lived and worked in your country many times, and I have some good friends there, almost all of whom voted for Trump the first time. But I am fearful for what I see happening there, and for the way that the noisy wing of the Christian faith have become closely associated with politics, with both of those united in using the other to gain earthly power. And I am terrified of those people who have become fixated on single issues, convinced they are right in their beliefs despite evidence to the contrary, from science, from the legal process, or from people who disagree with them. The polarisation is almost absolute, the fixation is deep rooted, and the conviction that those who disagree are demonic is closed-minded.
You have an uphill struggle facing you. But please know that you have friends nearby who want you to succeed, and who are praying for you. And that Jesus has already won the war for you.

As a former Southern Baptist, I am moved by the definition of those who promote a false Christian narrative filled with hate. I thank these presenters for promoting a vision of strength and the love of Christ.
I believe at the root of this notion of "Christian Nationalism/Nationalists" is the same root Jesus confronted and addressed when the Jews of His day were staunched in their beliefs that the Messiah was the Messiah ONLY for the Jews. They had the patriarchs, the covenants, the law (Moses laws, the Torah) and the promises from God to the Nation of Israel. The early church had to deal with this false teaching also -- Jew vs Gentile, etc., etc. Today it is the White Christians who espouse the fact that Jesus belongs to them and them only ... no room for a Jesus who loves all and welcomes all into His family.

And the more extreme believe he'll conquer the enemies of the Jews.
Jesus however, was the Messiah whose coming they missed, due to the false teachings of the leadership (corrupt priests). As this lady pointed out, Jews only saw Christ's 2nd coming in their prophesies, but they missed his 1st coming where he would die for the sins of the world and open his kingdom to BOTH Jew and Gentile.
And the traditions of the original corrupt leaders was passed down, teaching vehemently against Christ being the Messiah and spreading lies about Jesus and Christianity. It's exclusive. Their Messiah is coming mostly for the benefit of Jews. They missed that he came already for the benefit of ALL.

See how it's all about money for the wealthiest few? Jesus taught us what "good religion" looked like. Attending to the need of the orphan, the widow, and those in prison (i.e. the most vulnerable) . Today these people need these social programs the most. It's Christian to support such programs with our tax dollars yet we have "Christians" who've been manipulated by propaganda calling to have these programs removed.
Also, how could wealthy Ytes get poorer Ytes to side with them so they can continue to accomplish their goal? Because IN REALITY poorer Ytes and blacks have more in common economically. Convince poor Ytes that they're in "danger" by all the immigrants and people of color who wanna take over "their country" and communities. Fear mongering. So poor Ytes will vote against their own interest in order to "save America" from them. Christianity and "racism" are mere tools for the wealthiest few. Good discussion, but I think we need to look at the structure of the "church" itself. The word "church' itself. Meaning, the colonial origins and the legacy it left. The English word "church" was added in 1611 under a colonial empire. The structure came from a colonial empire. So, we shouldn't leave that off the table if neither of these were present during the days of Jesus (Yeshua).
"Church" is translated from the biblical word "ecclesia" Its original definition was a group of people or gathering of people, sharing one belief system. It was a greek governmental term meaning the gathering of citizens in a city state.
Christians are the church.... the people, not the buildings in which we gather. And we are "citizens" of Christ's currently UNSEEN kingdom that will one day BE SEEN by all. And HE ALONE will be ruler of this kingdom. The Bible teaches "the government (of the world) shall be on his (Christ's) soldiers" And he will rule righteously.
We're awaiting a LITERAL kingdom and we are citizens of it. We don't get to change that fact because us humans can't seem get it together. It's a biblical concept. Not a man made concept. In fact, the idea of "government" comes from God himself. The commandments was called "the law". God calls himself the "lawgiver". And he also calls himself the "righteous judge". He calls himself the "Witness" as in a witness in court which testifies for or against us. All these governmental terms are ones that God himself uses to convey his Kingship (through Christ). He's both, the governmental AND religious head of the world.

Well, I don’t think there is anything wrong with voting at all. In fact, the pastors that I listen to and respect would all say we should vote. I am as a Christian however, going to vote my values, the OBVIOUS issues like abortion, gay marriage and the transgender issue. Not looking at someone’s personality to determine who I vote for.

So if you truly love that person, you would warn them that if they truly have faith in Jesus, they must stop being sexually immoral and repent of that sin. So for anyone to say that homosexual activities are OK then you do not love that person because you are allowing that person to go to the lake of fire. Jesus said unless you repent you will perish!! True godly love is not just accepting people in their sins, true Godly love rebukes the sinner to repent!! If you say "well I love my neighbor in their sin you do not love that neighbor if you are not warning them to repent of sin. It's true we all fall short, but we all must face the truth and tell the truth. The greatest love for the lgbtq+ is not to accept their sin but to rebuke them of their sin. Not all love is good!! The LOVE of money is the root of evil, the love of the world with the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life is a bad love an evil love. So don't say love is loveand its all good because it is not all good! Do not change the gospel of Jesus. To have faith means that faith has to have actual works of righteousness or that faith is dead!! One can not just say or feel like they believe and then continue to do works of sin!! This is why Jesus will say in that day"... depart from me you worker of sin....." This is the perpetration of the right and the left. The church of God is not suffering any man's foolishness. Christ's church (His People) is impowered by the the Holy Spirit, which leads them into righteousness. Acts chapter 1 verse 15. Why people think that these so-called churches in America are God's people is beyond me. None of these people understand the Two Commandments of Christ. LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART MIND AND SOUL, AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. Have yet to hear any of them expound on those two commandents, which is the Gospel in à nutshell.
