  • The potato soup I grew up eating is now also my children’s favorite soup. Mom’s old school potato soup. If you had milk and potatoes you could have a hot, delicious, cheap meal! Adjust the onions to your taste or omit. Enjoy. #souprecipe #southerncooking #easyrecipeforbeginners #easyrecipes #countrycooking #potatorecipe

My mom boiled cut up salted potatoes in a pot. She cut up onions and sauteed them in butter and S & P. When potatoes were done, they were drained and the sauteed onions added. She then added milk and butter, Sometimes she would add a couple of other seasonings.

I haven’t ever had homemade potato soup. I cook a lot and usually make my own soups just never thought of making potato soup. I will try your version, pretty easy and you have homemade soup in a flash. Thanks for sharing.

So bomb! Especially and ultimately with fresh garden potatoes and onions... You can even cheat and use cans of cream of broccoli, cream of mushroom, cream of celery... and just slow crock pot it for a few hours... its a very inexpensive comfort food, and what's awesome about crock potting it for hours on low is it becomes a different soup every few hours, by the end of the night you have very thick, charred and crunchy and very soft inside potatoes

My mom used to make potato soup once a week for my dad. Us kids like it, too, but not like my dad. She made hers like this but with a more broth base; just a little milk. Salt and pepper were the only seasonings. Man, it was good! Thanks for the video. Going out to buy some potatoes, get it made and put some in the freezer.
