I have two bottles and they are fire. I love the two I have. One is 136.7 & the other is 127.3. But the 136.7 is awesome too me.
I was skeptical but what a hitter! I drove all over town Saturday trying to get another bottle (to no avail). Just delicious, and it drinks under the proof point.

I was at the JD Distillery today I picked up a Barrel Proof Rye a JD Bonded and another bottle of Barrel Proof Bourbon and a 10 year while there they were botteling a New Double Barreled Rye the color was like chocolate a deep brown , I will have to go back in the fall when they release it.
Had, and have them both. My 2023 Rye clocks in at 137.2! It’s awesome but isn’t at the same level of the 2020 Special Release. The new one is a slam dunk buy. Hope your barrel is good
I’ve been lucky enough to get several bottles(139.7 & ^). Enjoying a pour as we speak. This is a buy everyday. I should be heading to Kentucky in late September and can bring David a bottle so he has his own!
Great juice for around 60 msrp. The base profile is similar to Sbbp TN whiskey but less banana nutbread & more rye kick on the finish. There's also some sneaky flavors popping out on the finish like beets & coco powder.
Got lucky and found 2 near MSRP. Definitely not sitting on the shelves yet. They are keeping them as allocated a lot of places

Jack Daniels hit a home run with this. My bottle 133.3 proof don’t drink hot and lots of flavor.
I have one and it drinks super hot but it’s just amazing banana bread coffee cake insanity that keeps opening up as I get into it. Crazy pour.😊
Also I've had this and the special release. The special release was amazing and this is great. A buy everytime i see it at retail
Haven't seen that one yet, but Meijers has a store pick of the Single Barrel Select Rye, $45, I tried it, bought two more the next day. Waiting to see the Barrel Proof. Florence Ky here.

My bottle completely different. Great sweet nose, mint, cherry, red-ripe fruits. Syrupy. The nose presents ethanol just for a second before it explodes into rich flavors. Developed quickly the past month losing the mint but never it’s intensity. Awesome
Its not in southeastern Massachusetts yet but I have my eyes and ears open , so looking forward to this bottle.
Take a ride to Connecticut. It’s there supposedly. I found it in Maine.

I think the banana note comes from the yeast. Which they (BF) all probably use.
Saw it on the shelf a few times, but passed since I currently am not much of a rye guy. 🥃
Might be worth trying if you get a chance. It really easy a bourbon drinkers kind of rye.
Just got one at proof 131.1
Have two one is 130 and the other is 136
Found both at retail and the 130 proofer has a better mouth feel and flavor than the 136 but both are good
Agree I have been enjoying the lower proof ones here recently.

I’ve found two separate single barrel bottles: 136 and 136.2 proof and they’re both fantastic especially for the $70 a bottle I paid.
Your guys notes are spot on, I get the banana and think it drinks more like a high rye bourbon than a rye. I’ve got the 2020 LE and think it’s better but this bottle is still the second best rye I’ve ever had. Looking forward to seeing how this does in your end of year rankings!
