i usually just double track with the next best take because it’s sounds awesome lol. all the sounds here are recorded during filming/recorded audio manipulated in ableton (to make the guitar strums more like ‘drums’ for example) i love mixing so would love to do a vid or something in patreon detailing my approach

Spend more time learning songs by ear and only using tab either to "check your work" or if you're completely stuck on a part. You don't have to bang your head against the wall for weeks on end, but try for maybe 10-20 minutes before looking it up. If you stick with it for a few weeks you'll find your ears improve.
well i couldnt find the exact one but i think its just a miami blue fender strat (either used or the american professional II), with a pau ferro neck and a glitter pick guard added. also reliced *if you dont know, relicing is like chipping away at the guitar so it looks more "reliced" and "vintage". theres yt vids on how to do it. me personally love these kinda guitars@@coleschreiner6
idk man when i think mathrock im thinking Invalids, Floral, Snooze, the mfs that are using ridiculous time signature and polyrhythms for the sake of just being insane. This is very good but i feel its a lot more simplified then some of the really great mathrock stuff
this is all in 4/4, why is this math rock ? Same for polyphia, why people think it is math rock when all of their song are straight 4/4 ? (same for guitarist like Ichika Nito) I think Tim Henson himself said they don't play math rock. Isn't the "math" part of math rock about the use of different time signatures and multiple tempo changes ?
The main differences is Math Rock have dose weird tempo signatures plus a quirky structure. indie rock is more pop-ish have a easier tempo and structure, guitar riffs are not so overcomplex and its more friendly with people that consume pop music. however the sonority and the music scales/tones are basically the same, Math Rock is more sophisticated and Indie Rock is more pop-friendly i will say.
Time Signatures: Math Rock: Often employs complex, unconventional time signatures like 7/8, 11/8, or alternating time signatures within a song. Indie Rock: Generally uses standard time signatures like 4/4 or 3/4, though some indie bands experiment with odd time signatures as well. Harmonies: Math Rock: Utilizes dissonant and complex harmonies. Chords can be extended and altered to create a distinctive, angular sound. Indie Rock: Typically features simpler, more traditional harmonies. Chords are often major or minor, with occasional use of sevenths or other extensions. Scales: Math Rock: Frequently explores non-traditional scales and modes, such as whole tone, diminished, or exotic scales, to add to the complexity. Indie Rock: More likely to stick with conventional scales like major and minor. Some indie bands might incorporate modes like Dorian or Mixolydian for a unique flavor. Tunings: Math Rock: Often experiments with alternative tunings to achieve unique chord voicings and tonal qualities. Common tunings include drop D or even more unconventional setups. Indie Rock: Primarily uses standard tuning, but some bands use drop D or open tunings for certain songs. Rhythm: Math Rock: Characterized by intricate and syncopated rhythms. Drummers often use polyrhythms and odd accents, creating a complex rhythmic foundation. Indie Rock: Typically features straightforward, steady rhythms. The drumming is more groove-oriented and supports the melody and harmony rather than standing out. Song Structure: Math Rock: Often eschews traditional verse-chorus structures in favor of more through-composed forms. Songs may consist of several distinct sections with little repetition. Indie Rock: Generally adheres to conventional song structures like verse-chorus-verse. There is a clear and recognizable pattern that is easy to follow. Overall Style: Math Rock: Emphasizes technical proficiency and complexity. Guitar work is often intricate, with tapping, fast arpeggios, and rapid changes. Indie Rock: Focuses more on melody, lyrics, and atmosphere. The music tends to be more accessible and emotionally driven.
Indie rock can any be any subgenre of rock. As long as there's no support from any major label (i.e. never got signed or didn't want to) usually with the excuse of going for a more raw sound and more creative freedom.
although music is subjective and opinion based, your opinion is trash. you didnt need to leave a comment so foul about other peoples music taste just because all you listen to is 1970s metal and pop. maybe refrain from posting terrible opinions again or, quit the internet entirley.

I’ve always said mathrock is just emo in odd meter, but indie works, too.
@@thespcrewroy8716 bruh what emo kids are huge try hards on guitar. They shoehorn tapping and alternate tunings into everything
can confirm playing emo is a struggle@@MoonshineH

haha i think what you’re hearing is the looping of the first 4 beats
ohhhh yeah! I didn't even notice you looped the first 4 beats. Great job, bro. Sick tune.@@wyo

Emo mathrock: midwest emo

Indie mathrock: chon, covet, toe
Metal mathrock: animals as leaders

Noise mathrock: hella, lightning bolt
I like this
Polyphia is prog metal. Animals as leaders is prog metal. Midwest Emo isn't related to math rock, Jimmy Eats World is midwest emo.
I need a full version of these🔥🔥🔥
0:22 very incubus sounding bend riff
I love this song
I hope to write good music like this in the future. Big inspiration 👍

its the way the melody is played along with the percussion on the guitar
This feels more ichika nito than indie though. Started out feeling indie, then got into some more neo soul-ish chord progressions and taps

1: Play it for years
2: Pay someone to relic it
3: Go to a gravel parking lot and just drag it on the ground
