@@jamesharmer4253 yeah, they butchered all the good ones, BMW 6-series GC is discontinued and replaced with 8-series GC which is too muscle car looking, and VW Passat CC got turned into Arteon which is now a hatch like Skoda Rapid or new Skoda Octavia

Out of all the channels that I ever watch this hands down has the most marketing. And yet it's not annoying at all. Good job on that guys!
Was honestly gonna buy a different car but took one of these for a test drive and was surprised at how violent it is for what it looks like. But if you get the right options it looks less like a grandmas car and more like something that should be fast.

I had a BMW M235i 2015 and the ruvoice commands still existed and wasd much more amazing Than post 2019 shitty monitor screen which made things unnecessarily more worse and complicated. For example the circular know to control.the menu was arbitrarily changed in terms of direction whereby spinning the control wheel left moved the GPS map to the right for example be just 3-6 years ago it was not that stupid. Furthermore fan made concepts of the 235 couple looked million times better than the real one
Had the 228i X-Drive model as a rental. Car handled well and acceleration was good. Nice driving position.
What wasn't so good was the poor low speed downshifts, combined with the auto engine stop & hard seats, driving in traffic was annoying and crashy feeling.
When I look at it it reminds me of like a Hyundai or in general a car of japanese design
These are mainly targeted at Chinese markets.
Recent Hyundai and Japanese designs look miles better. This looks like an old Hyundai

It doesn't. It looks like a generic compact car. Actually, if they come out with a 'normal' 4 door 1 Series sedan, it won't look that different (and maybe even uglier). But I don't think they would do that because it's pretty obvious that the SEDAN is this one. It doesn't need a 1 Series 4 door.

Sadly it doesn't look like the new Mazda 3 which is a beautiful car. As BMW fan I'm depressed with the actual design strategy of the brand.
It was great to see the comparisons to the trunk or speed cluster from other cars in the same class and great humor, you had really laughing out loud at some point. Just a bit more dirty jokes than usually, but they were nice. Great review!

10:35 I wonder why BMW decided to use the 1 series(which is based on a Mini) as the basis for the 2 series Gran Coupe, when they could have just added two doors to the regular 2 series coupe and stretch the wheelbase for more interior space. It would definitely increase the fun factor of this car, with more power, rear wheel drive and an optional six speed manual transmission.
That would be very close car to the 3 series. They don't want to decrease sales of their best seller car.
Justifies MINI's overall production. In the end, the BMW's that are based off the MINIs are what's really keeping the MINI brand viable. And now, the new MINIs will be based off of what really were intended to BMWs now. Like the latest X1, that came out before the next Countryman.

Excellent as always with Mat, its a joy and spot on in most cases. However, 9.9 lt per 100 k is more than decent fuel economy considering the 300+ horsepower and 4 wheel drive (4.4 sec to 100!!).
My US version has averaged over 36 MPG so far over about 2000 miles. Not bad at all
interesting. my e90 335i gets 10km per liter so pretty much the same? 3L twin turbo I6

Apart from that consumption is also relevant to hp and weight, my VZ over the weekend with 3 people on a trip of 500 km had an average of 8.2 lt/100 km, as the car is still new I didn't go over 150 km/hour on highways , mostly around 120/130 and country roads where speed is from 50 to 100 and half of those km with clima on. Nevertheless, I didn't get this car to save on fuel, and I believe the same stands for all who have this car or wish to have it, otherwise I would have bought instead a Yaris Hybrid to drive around town.

In my opinion the e series had the best body styles like e9x e46 e6x e39 e82. I thought the f series was ok but just didn't have as good looks and weren't quite as subtle but then the g series...
I have a 2016 mercedes amg c63s and im considering getting this next as a cheaper alternative and more of a daily it looks so beautiful and the inside too, and the performance seems a reasonable change without sacrificing much on speed ☺️

I’ll admit the rear can look odd from some angles. But I took a 220d M Sport home for a night and was amazed how much better it was to drive than my F22 M240i and F20 120d. Hopefully they’ll tidy up the back a little for the facelift.

for me, quite opposite. I respect the heck out of BMW, since they still care to make manual,rear-wheel cars that can hold up both track day and daily use, keep the electronic driving assistant at minimum on the high performance models, like M2, m3, m4. Audi and Benz don't make cars like those since long time ago. If you want a car that more than 4 cylinder, rear wheel drive, manual cars under $100k, BMW is the only brand you can choose. I mean, ONLY

I mean I don't associate puny engine power front wheel drive cars with expensive German automakers known for luxurious high performance, expensive cars.
It's taken straight from a base Mini Cooper, and it shouldn't be used there either.
140HP 1.5L is acceptable, but a 3 cylinder bimmer isn't. But at least it is not offered in 3 series yet. The smallest displacement E36 was 316i with NA 1.6L pushing 98HP. Even NA 1.5L in the lesser and slightly older mitsubishi colt has 98HP also but far more fun to drive. The 1.6L colt was 120HP.
@@yuliartoandry Bmw F30 318i had a 1.5 liter 3 cylinder engine (B38A15M0) with 130ish hp, so basically every F series, whether 3, 5 or whatever is a piece of shit car, speaking from experience. Last true Bmw cars were E series, even the end of E series generation is debatable (Im looking at you bmw e90). So to sum it all up, after E39 and E46 it all went downhill, brand got dilluted.
