Okay. My question is...for the gamer on a budget. Getting a Raspberry Pie is nearly impossible in my area because everyone wants 500 bucks for them or more, the PS classic has all of a sudden gone insane in price. This seems to be the only decent option left that would be in the $70-120 range. But....as you have pointed out, these have their issues. So how does one go about cleaning up duplicate games/adding missing games back in and making it run a little better?
Yup. Not "can't" but "won't". Shameful. How can we trust this review/product placement if he's not going to do the work? Two minutes per game to see if it loads up, plays, and looks ok isn't much to ask. That's only 208.33 eight-hour days. Slacker.
I used to work for Amazon and some products are counterfit, they don't care, from pirated dvds to soft toys, as long as they make their profit it's fine by them.
What I can tell you about some of the duplicates is some of them are the original game when you play them from beginning to end and you have to unlock every level and then the duplicate version is like the developer version where everything is already unlocked. I can't say that the case with all of them but some of them I've noticed that
The fact that cheap systems are selling shows there is a market for them. It seems it would be relatively easy for someone (with the know-how) to develop a high quality system and dominate the market.
They would then be sued into oblivion. Part of why these things are able to sell is because the companies are fly by night shell companies. The minute that there was an organized well built option the lawyers will be on top of them.
I highly recommend the game box hero Clean setup, easy to find consoles/games and 0 duplicates. I’ve had it for a few years and have had no issues BESIDES some N64 and PS games running slow.
Let's be fair and real here, as someone who has seen many rom dump compilations, most duplicates are not actually duplicates they are different regions of the games and revisions with bug fixes or patches. Very very rarely will there be two or more of the same game revision, same region (actually a duplicate) in any set.
No kidding. There is a market for these things. If one of these consoles doesn't completely suck and is playable right out of the box, they would sell so many units they'd they 'd get shut down for being too successful at selling unlicensed games.
@@winchestersons6258 Same here... My Modded OG Xbox gets more playtime then any modern console. I bought 2 Street FIghter 2 (15th Anniversary) Arcade sticks to play MAME arcade games with and it's a blast to play with friends. This box certainly looks better than the last one. This does have nice presentation. Still, They need to spend a week curating their list and making sure the key games they have actually work.
They don't try too hard, and you should never expect them too. We're talking about Chinese consoles here, not western or Japanese consoles. This thing actually looks pretty dang good considering it's a Chinese console though. It runs almost everything pretty well, and can even run Dreamcast games. You can clean those game lists up yourself. Any game that doesn't run well you might be able to improve by changing some settings. It might be a bit of a long shot, but it's worth a try. Anything that doesn't work at all may very well be due to a bad rom, iso or whatever, so you could try replacing it with one you know is good and see if it runs. Honestly, this console seems like an okay option to me, although not by any means a great one. It's biggest problem is the price. You can get something even better for a lot cheaper. But if they were to drop that price down to about 60 or 70 bucks (probably not gonna happen), then it would be a much more appealing opinion. It still wouldn't be the *best* option, but it'd be a pretty decent one for sure.

You're right, video guy, the number of games tend to run in X2 to X4 duplicates for most consoles. I've been telling people this for around 8-12 years and "finally" people are catching up. This menu is VERY lazy compared to some. But there are "two" types of duplicates, there are "category" duplicates and there are duplicates like putting the same game on different consoles which are (in fact) two different games between consoles but they're giving you the same experience, just using two consoles to do it. It's a waste of money, the processors are almost "always" a little below par specs because they try to put games over the set level of CPU power they need.

With these you're basically paying for the labor to have the emulators pre-setup. And there's nothing wrong with that, time is money after all. They can take quite a bit of time to get setup and get configured properly, so it's great to have an option like this where it's ready to go for those that prefer that. But there's nothing special about the hardware, you can do the same with a RaspPi, old console, old PC, etc. The security concerns with these types of pre-built boxes would push me to one of those other alternatives, or if you opt for one you might want to stick it on a more limited IoT LAN.
It's just Batocera with Linux running behind it. The performance issue isn't so much down to the processor, but the limitation of the emulators that are compatible with Batocera. I've had the same issues with the same kind of games with the same kind of emulators on a multitude of different processors with more powerful iGPUs. I wish they would create a version that has windows running in the background instead, as there are just much better emulators available for that OS.
Iyo, what do you think is the best emulator box on Amazon ? Also what is the best for the price? I've always wanted an emulator box that's plug and play, and nes through saturn. I'd appreciate any help
you can buy the android box itself on Android for way less money, install emuelec yourself with games you want, get your own controllers that are probably better than what they include.
I'm getting it's the way this is set up to push everything to a certain resolution. Some games don't support certain video types and you get those "glitches" and "messed up backgrounds" the video mode is key. That's why I build my own emulators, I can assure there's multiple video resolutions. Racing games are some of the worst about this! Also what type of sound the games uses also causes issues for emulators as well.
I’ve been a fan of video games since my very first console a Super Nintendo I got in 1994. My absolute favorite games are the original Mortal Kombat games 1, 2, 3, UMK3, MK Trilogy, and MK4. Do you know the best way for me to get to play the best quality versions of these classics? Preferably the Arcade versions or PlayStation versions because the graphics and sounds were best. I also love the Midway arcade classics “NBA Jam,” and “WWF Wrestlemania The Arcade Game.” I don’t know anything about computers to make my own setup or anything and prefer not to pay for a console that has thousands of games I will never play. How could I get a hold of these games to enjoy at home? Any suggestions? Easiest way possible is preferred. Thank you!
I ended up a few weeks ago getting a Beelink G35 mini pc for $5, turned it into a Batocera retro pc. Was a great day lol. May get one of these for my brother for Christmas
Cool video, I just use my ps classic with bleemsync and my android phone with a gamecube and ps2 emulator. Nothing better than being able to just pull out ur phone and play old games with a blutooth controller.
I need one of these eventually, I got the USB Data Frog 🐸 plug and play Genesis that comes with 2 6 button controllers and that’s actually really good 🎮 Also, The best one I’ve ever seen of these for the money is the Arcade box
Anytime I download a ROM set for one of my flashcards Etc I meticulously separate them by region and alphabet lettering ie, A-E USA, F-I USA... and so on.
I bought a used Wii system at a yard sale last year, that included a small external hard drive. When I got home and turned it on, it had every game emulator listed on the screen up to Gamecube. It has something like 50,000 games on it I believe, including virtually every game for every system up to Gamecube, and then for Dreamcast, older PC games, Atari 400/800, C64 etc. only a few for each. I was surprised at how well the Wii system ran the emulators, the only issues I've really had were with a few N64 games, like Conquers Bad Fur Day which tends to lag at points and always crashes. All Gamecube games work great. My main issue is with the controller. Some games you can play and some I guess need some sort of adapter to use a different controller, I'm not sure. Whenever I play MAME games, hitting one of the action buttons also brings up the main volume control, which makes using MAME impossible. I'm still happy that I can play everything else though, and basically for nothing, since I only paid $20 for the entire Wii setup.
You can plug a GameCube controller into a lot Wii consoles, four of them actually, and on those models it's not actually emulating Gamecube it actually has the Gamecube hardware in it as well. For a working example with the addons you describe that is one heck of a value you got.
Ps classic with autobleem all day long 👍, I like watching your reviews of all these random emulation devices out there, hoping and waiting for the day when you are blown away by one, I also get the unorganized rom lists these type of devices have with duplicates and bloatware roms and such, I enjoyed making my own build on autobleem for the ps classic, feels a little more personal, not everyone has that ability however.
I thought about getting one of these emu boxes preloaded with games about 3 years ago. What stopped me was not knowing if all the games I card for were going to be on there without a million clones. In the end I got a raspberry Pi3B+ before COVID made everything impossible to get. I installed RetroPie from scratch and literally put the whole US libraries of NES, SNES, Genesis, 32x, virtualboy, master system, game gear, turbo Grafx 16, game boy, game boy color, Gameboy advance, lots of arcade games, vectrex, colecovision and had a nice time too.
@@marccaselle8108 I didn’t quite think the ps classic was as capable as it was, but I got it brand new for a low price at the time $20 bucks, couldn’t beat it
Personally, I still think the best ‘bang for your buck’ is still a MiSTER fpga. Plays most games as closely as possible to their original spec. All of the hardware with a 128mb module and 8bitdo controller will only set you back maybe $300
Where can you find a MiSter for $300? I was on ultimate Mister the other day thinking I would jump in and that stuff was running for around $600. Ebay prices are for around that amount as well. For that kind of money I'll stick with my PC and Raspberry Pi
@@GisherJohn24 depends on the core - not sure about Mame but for some Of the dedication Jotego cores for example, you can get to the boards dips through the mister menu. The same can be done for uniBios with NeoGeo MVS to switch stuff like credits and regions. Unfortunately though it depends largely on the core you’re using, but in most cases dipswitching is in there.
You could pick up a used Thin client with a Ryzen 3200GE for under $200 with a 128GB ssd and 8GB of ram that would stomp all over the MiSTER. It won't be as accurate but it will also emulate far more systems and as a bonus it is a real x86/x64 PC that can do whatever a PC can do.
Not having the time to dig into videos and guides means I have no idea what the best setups are for home theater retro gaming system. I have a Pi setup but I neglect it. I have a htpc case that I planned on building something decent with i5 low end. Need a Bluetooth adapter for controller. Would take the easy way out with something like this box if there was one that was good enough to be recommended. Would be happy with ps1 SOTN and stuff like DraculaX playing.
My gosh😱why is this so hard for these people to make a system to run up to Sega Naomi? My Nvidia Shield runs all these systems fine, but it doesnt dual boot into an emuelec type interface. A few of the frontends from the app store are ok, but not great
It's socks that these are paid reviews and no one even talk about playing the console, just a bunch of "great job putting the video together man thanks!"

I have an Nvidia shield is there a way I can find emulators for these games and just do it myself I would like to turn my Nvidia shield into a retro gaming system but I don't know what to do any tips
The Google play market has standalone emulators for most systems, and they also have retroarch. I use mine for emulating all the time. There's also a few front ends available. I have all my games on a USB flash drive. I definitely suggest getting a USB hub, and make sure you have a decently shielded hdmi cable otherwise Bluetooth may give you some issues. I have the controller for the system and it works perfectly but you can't seem to get them anymore except on ebay. All in all I love my Shield for emulating and its got the added benefit of games from Google play, nvidia GeForce now, steam link from your pc, etc. Definitely the best device I've had hooked up to my TV aside from an actual pc.
Your answer to a question about a budget emulator system is just to use a pc or to figure it out. Clearly reviewing these some stand out more than others. Just say which is the best. It's not that hard.
I bought a preloaded rasberry pi 3b plus from a website a few years ago they came with the same PS2 knock off controllers it ran on retro pie. Worked for a couple of years. Some games simply wouldn't boot. The thing was very fragile and one day my system fell less than two feet to the ground and stopped working so i chucked it in the garbage. Some arcade games i wanted to play worked on it. Im in the market for a preloaded rasberry pi again and will wait for a trusted seller to have them back in stock. These types of Chinese emulation boxes are good for a semi casual gamer.
Just get a legends ultimate arcade for ~$600. Then you can download an SD card image and flash it with your PC. Takes a few hours for it to complete and you have EVERYTHING, plus a decent piece of arcade hardware that won't impress the purists. I own one of those in addition to a couple "pure" arcade machines.
I wonder if you can Help. My mom wants to play Hudsons adventure island. Do you know if or what retro console that would have it. She wants to use it in her RV.
Want one but I can't see it in the UK. When I click your link it takes me to Dan&Dre USB Wireless Console Game Stick, Video Game Console Built-in 3500 Classic Games 8 Bit Mini Retro Controller HDMI Output Dual Player(32GB)
I have been spending many hours of many days sifting through rom's for the Steam Deck and removing duplicates and language versions that are simply not required. Favouring the US versions of games (for frame rates) unless of course it was only released in Europe then include that version. Still doing it and its a process worth doing for a real clean list.

Great vídeo, thanks a million! ✌🏼😁🎮
How Easy Is It To Build a Kick Ass Emulator ?
5 usd? even 50 would be a deal, lol. Wish i could find one at that price!
@@makoto4341 yep it was at a thrift store for $5 brand new. They thought it was just a cheap TV box
For the average person like me that owns no video games whatsoever, something like this setup would be great 👍,Liked the video
Cool video, I just use my ps classic with bleemsync and my android phone with a gamecube and ps2 emulator. Nothing better than being able to just pull out ur phone and play old games with a blutooth controller.
I need one of these eventually, I got the USB Data Frog 🐸 plug and play Genesis that comes with 2 6 button controllers and that’s actually really good 🎮
Also, The best one I’ve ever seen of these for the money is the Arcade box
Out of all the ready to go consoles you’ve tested, which mega game list console is your favorite?
I would like to know this as well
He says in the video... that he doesn't recommend any of them🤷
@0:56 Neogeo you read, but lable says different ^^
Anytime I download a ROM set for one of my flashcards Etc I meticulously separate them by region and alphabet lettering ie, A-E USA, F-I USA... and so on.
Without telling us where you find rommsets, maybe you can pass along advice on finding quality rom sets?
What's the DC game show at 6:42 ? Can't remember the name of it but I remember playing it a lot as a kid
There are just so many of these units available. Seems to depend on who you ask as to which is the best.
FRIGEDAEG stands for - For Real ingenuity go elsewhere doom awaits every gamer😂just thought of that
Batocera is nicest for looks an setup but Rpi4 RetroPie is the all in one.
Sold - to me. Very nice device 😃. So thank you for presentation.
Does this have a complete turbografx chip card and cd collection ?
@@marccaselle8108 I didn’t quite think the ps classic was as capable as it was, but I got it brand new for a low price at the time $20 bucks, couldn’t beat it
Agree! Bought mine new for $40 and put retroarch and project eris on there.
@@SlaughteredDecay noice
I did this too. I also have an android and play ps2 and gamecube games on it.
I will just save up for the steam deck
Steam deck at home
@@chungusamongus519 bought the steam deck and I enjoy playing with it!
So what’s the BEST game box you recommend?? At ANY price point?
Can i buy one of these things and install its content on a bigger pc with a gpu. So it performs better? O it doenst work on windows
Dude the super console X I bought for $75 works just fine and has more games than I can even get to checking out.
anyone know how to get to the dipswitches? For example, I played pacman on mame, and the ghosts change back super fast... Can I alter that somewhere?
@@GisherJohn24 depends on the core - not sure about Mame but for some
Of the dedication Jotego cores for example, you can get to the boards dips through the mister menu.
Thanks for the review!
A few of the frontends from the app store are ok, but not great
Ok, so what's the "least bad" out the box option?
So which of these systems would you recommend? the best one maybe?
i wish that consoles like this one wood have more sega saturn games like die hard arcade daytona
You can always add them onto the SD card.
A few questions are there save states?
How do you turn it off?
Can you add emulators or missing games?
This machine is using Batocera so probably you can change emulators for game that wont load up. Also change stuff around that will help.
What does a “raspberry pie with retro pie” mean? I’m runnning wii games on my MSI PC rn I’m new too this.
The PlayStation games don't have music because they are PBPs, not because they are bad rips
It's socks that these are paid reviews and no one even talk about playing the console, just a bunch of "great job putting the video together man thanks!"
Do you have a list of these consoles you recommend? Most if not all of the videos I’ve watched, are the same complaints. Which one(s) is/are best?
Anything that can play Sega Saturn decently is ok in my books 🤘🏾
Dude,
Give me your choice of best, plug and play retro games for smart tv.
It's not bad, but I prefer RetroPi, takes a bit but the with latest model PI, I can get PS2, Gamecube Xbox to work fine.
I do nes SNES pcengine Genesis emulation on my ZFold3 And Tab S7 PLUS And Everything Plays Fine . I Hook Up To My Projector And It's AweSomeNess PerSoNiFied.
I was thinking about buying something like this. What's the best out there?
Straight from Arcade Punks to Amazon.....absolute chancers
Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. v. Connectix Corp.
Emulators are just plain legal.
Please note that roms are not.
Thank you so much
0:39 I legitimately thought the box said it has a Quad-Core ASS. "Oh, this is definitely from China."
Your answer to a question about a budget emulator system is just to use a pc or to figure it out. Clearly reviewing these some stand out more than others. Just say which is the best. It's not that hard.
Amazon doesn't care they'll take the money. Some of these companies should sue them
Do these require a PC to use or do they hook straight up to TV? I'm new to these
there is a lot of clones out there shenzen ripping each other off in the dash for cash , the end user (public) lose out in the end ...............
I would still choose my sheild, but it needs more internal storage
Some games don't boot or run well? I'm stoked to buy this. Oh wait
What's the best hdmi console you recommend?
I've had this box for years it's an older version.
I bought it and never really used it, I use a Nvidia shield 🤷🏼♂️
I was hoping mine will come with many of the classics. TR, Castlvania, etc.
I wonder if you can Help. My mom wants to play Hudsons adventure island. Do you know if or what retro console that would have it. She wants to use it in her RV.
Pretty much any of these consoles will have that in the NES game list. Its on this machine as well, its one of my favorite nes games.
The way you speak totally reminds me of Todd from breaking bad. Anybody else??
Want one but I can't see it in the UK. When I click your link it takes me to Dan&Dre USB Wireless Console Game Stick, Video Game Console Built-in 3500 Classic Games 8 Bit Mini Retro Controller HDMI Output Dual Player(32GB)
Dude mine caught fire......was awesome tho for the 3 days I had it......
I have been spending many hours of many days sifting through rom's for the Steam Deck and removing duplicates and language versions that are simply not required. Favouring the US versions of games (for frame rates) unless of course it was only released in Europe then include that version. Still doing it and its a process worth doing for a real clean list.
I told my daughter that she can be anything she wants to be except an Amico 🤠
There was a certain fun with those old games, that's got a bit lost today.
How are the vectrex games? Does it have Star Castle? OMEGA Race?
