Edie Falco won the Emmy that season for best actress in a television drama. This episode probably seal the deal. She was unbelievable!
After watching that scene, I was like: "She better win the Emmy for that performance."
She's an incredible actress. She really came into her own this season. A lot of people haven't seen it because it's on Showtime, but she's amazing in "Nurse Jackie"
Edie was POWERFUL in this episode
i bet Lorraine Bracco regretted not taking the Carmela role. Lorraine was offered that role first but she wanted to play a professional woman who isn't just a house wife. So she became melfi XD
@@slimjimjimslim5923 She's not in the same galaxy as Edie Falco in terms of acting ability, hate to be harsh. We're lucky she didn't take the role.
Some of the finest acting you’ll ever see
Absolute masterclass
Carmela slayed that scene.
Really great acting this episode from Edie Falco. She's one of the best.
And from James Gandolfini.
Those scenes between Tony and Carmela are some of the best acting ever seen on TV. Just next level. It set a new standard for what a TV show could be. It was when the small screen was elevated to the same status as the silver screen. In my opinions even higher.
it def started the change to small screen being a big Effin deal after sopranos was breaking bad, mad men, walking dead, game of thrones etc
This is the greatest acting in any television show ever made, hands down, no contest. The scenes with Gandolfini and Edie Falco should be shown at every acting class on earth, they are stellar. Edie Falco especially is operating on a separate plane from any other actress I've ever seen in a TV show.
No question.
I always got a kick out the sopranos talking about saving money or not having it and then immediately buying stuff like a new car, horse, beach house.
Edie Falco ... that was next level acting. I believed and felt everything Carmella was going through. Tony/James Gandolfini was awesome as well. The two of them have unreal chemistry together. I really believe that they are a couple that has been married for 20 years.
Now imagine having to wait a year to see the next episode like we did when it first came out!
Worse than that, there was a two year gap between seasons 4 and 5!
Man I wish I were born at a time to watch this as it was rolling out. Would’ve been the best experience
@@user-je6oj7iu6dit was, and frustrating. I remember starting the show in the beginning when I was on break in college. My parents had HBO. Watched first few episodes and then back to school. It was months before I could finish that first season
This one was the longest wait for me, because this season was 🔥
2 years plus between seasons 5 and 6 A and B...you gotta understand back the amount of people that watched the show live on Sunday nights was unlike anything else....Sundays you watched football and then you watched the sopranos and it was the best day of the week😂!!...Mondays was for all the reactions😂
Asia, the look on your face when Carmela told Tony about Furio was classic! 😱
8:12 “is this mrs sopranoze” top 10 moments before tragedy
LOLOL Golden comment!
I remember how it was watching the Soprano's every week back when these episodes were new. Every show felt like a movie, and every Monday morning people would huddle at work and on the radio to talk about what happened last night. Watching you two react and seeing the excitement in your faces really brings me back to that point in time. Keep up the great work and best wishes to you both...
The performance of Edie Falco was a master class in acting. I can't say enough about her. All you can do is sit back and be in awe.
10:52 "what does she have that i dont have?" I get teary eyed listening to Edie, brilliant acting
Man Edie gives me a visceral reaction watching her pain and heartbreak. The best acting on TV.
Edie Falco was amazing and she also battled Breast Cancer during this time
Sopranos and Outsiders on the same day? You're knocking it outta the park!!!!!! Love your channel😊
Fun fact: Edie Falco has a photographic memory. Nice thing for an actor/actress to have!
Woohoo! Emmys are tonight and I heard there will be a Sopranos reunion 🎉
I remember watching this episode when it first aired & I thought this is one of the best performances from an actor & actress I have ever seen! 💘 you guys reaction to it!👍
Once again my favorite couple reacting to the greatest series of all time they're will never be one like it again on this rare masterpiece acting and tv writing level by the best of the best of all time James G and best most stellar wise guy cast of all time and Carmella's best performance ever to others have tried to be number one nobody fires on all cylinders like Sopranos did making you keep coming back watching it over and over and over again every year and finding out you missed another clue that you didn't get before for 25 years in row and still never gets old only better with time
This is regarded as the best episode of the Sopranos
Carmela's performance in this series is spectacular, but her performance in this episode is otherworldly. Probably the best I've ever seen.
Correction: Definitely the best I've ever seen.
She won a Emmy for that performance
Asia's face at 20:06 when Carmela says she was dreaming and fantasizing and in love with Furio. 😳
I think the reason she was taking AJ over there was to protect against something “accidentally” happening with furio. He was like her protection blanket lol.
The problem with that argument: they're both right. Tony is a cheating scumbag. Carmela loves the money and the life.
Chris' intervention is my favorite scene of the series. That scene with Carm and Tony a close 2nd.
Season 4 is probably one of the darkest in the series. Just wait until Season 5, everything gets crazy. The 5th season is probably the 2nd best one IMO (nothing beats Season 2 IMO).
Season 4 is my favorite
Dean Martin walks out on stage “Hey how’d all these people get in my room?”
Mellow Soprano 😁😂
12:57 “Thank you Rabbi”😂😂
Watched the 20th anniversary reunion interview with the whole cast it was so good ❤
Tony had a fling with Artie's wife one summer ⛱️🌞 after Tony & Carmela had an argument & Carmela went down to the Jersey shore for the summer so technically I guess Toney thought they were on a break. Tony had those cheating vibes before they were married . Leopard 🐆 doesn't change their spots 😳
She didn't know that. We watched when Artie's wife told her in season one.
greatest scene in television history. nothing comes to close to me.
You can't find a show with better dialogue than The Sopranos.
Great reaction as usual you guys!
Love this show so much
I love the character Mellow, they're so calm
There is also a line in this episode that wasn't in your recap. When Carmella asks Tony to take in the chairs because it was bad for the grass, Tony sarcastically says "Bad for glass, bad for glass!" This is an homage to the GREAT film "Chinatown" where this line is said. Actually the character saying this line in that film is a Chinese gardner who says "bad for grass", but it sounds like "glass" due to his accent. This line in the film leads to a major reveal/plot point in the film which i won't reveal.
Tony is in the fridge for some Gaba Goool..
Phenomenal acting
With the Sopranos I usually talk about the amazing storylines and acting but Irina looked mighty fine this episode....come on BJ don't deny it. 🤣
Damn it, now I gotta buy Hot Capicola and Prosciutto. Every damn episode he goes for it, I gotta make a trip to the store.
Arguably the best episode of the series.
Best of the entire show's run IMO.
At 18:06 - Dang BJ dancing to the gunshots 😂😂
Benny Fazio, a criminal mastermind
These up close and personal scenes, the emotional depth they’ve created in each character….you feel this….at least I did, for sure. ❤️🎥❤️
10:53 Tony- “well Carmella, she has a removable leg.” That’s hot!!! LOL
Hello to my favorite couple Asia and BJ. I was already on RUclips when this popped up. Loving y'all reactions to this and Game of Thrones.
Great reaction. Thanks for sharing your experience Asia.
I’ve often wondered what word Tony meant to say when he said “all claims against my HUD business are irrigated.” Liquidated?
❤Such a great season. It just gets better from here. Eddie Falco did the tv series Nurse Jackie after this and her acting was amazing.
Imo, Whitecaps is the best episode of the entire series.
Now that is some great acting and writing, and painfully realistic. The beauty of HBO.
The "Hey Jack Lemmon, how's Lee Remick" comment was a jab at Christopher's situation. It's a reference to the 1962 film, The Days of Wine and Roses"--about two alcoholics.
9:02 Nice Goodfella's nod here: That had the later-half of Layla over the montage of finding all the whacked crew members, this is the first (and IMHuO better) half of the track..: That guitar riff is just amazing 👍👍👍👍
Seasons 5 & 6 to finish the series. Can’t wait! Been a long time since I’ve watched the series. Love watching you two react to it !! 😉😁
looking forward to season 5 in my opinion its the best one
"One thing you can never say: that you haven't been told."
I feel like Carmella told Tony about her fantasy with Furio in order to simply get Tony out of the house. He would’ve never gone, so she had to make him as repulsed with her as she was with him. She had to get him to a place where he didn’t want to fight the separation.
About died when he said Jerry Lee Lewis 😂
A top episode in the series amazing acting. Onto season 5!!
Everybody be waiting for this one.
Awesome reaction you too...love the Sopranos...can't wait for season 5...Imma check your Patreon to ✌✌
I think the show has been out around 25 years now😮
Let’s go!
Y’all have got to watch Boardwalk Empire next! You’ll love it if you liked the Sopranos. Same producers, writers, and directors involved.
Double upload?
Lord we don’t deserve you two 🥹
"gabagool" - cold cut meat, thats what they are eating all the time.
Best episode of acting in the series
Yeah 👍👍👍👍
I'm right with you Asia, wash your hands before going into refrigerator if you are coming from outside.
Yeah make sure only means one thing in their world. They were
going to kill them if they did it or not.
Honestly, I can't stand Carmella.
She knows she is married to a gangster. A boss. She knows the life she was signing up for.
She could leave him, but she can't settle for less than what he gives.
If you hadn't realised already, Tony is a dreadful human being. Carmela is no angel because of the way she's been bought off over the years, but Tony is actually just awful.
Furio played it smart . Carmella was much a scumbag as Tony.
What show you been watching? They are not on equal ground on this. Not even close.
Asiaaa so prettyyyyy
They shot the two homies at the end because they knew it was Carmine Lupertazzi they were gonna whack. Tony didn't want the risk of them slipping somewhere down the line and saying they were paid to kill carmine. So tony told chris to "make sure"...that they were taken care of
Edie Falco is an amazing actress
roses are red, Tony is blue, I love Dean Martin, more than gabagool!
best acting in the entire show from edie falco, in this episode.
06:45 DAM you predicted it . . . not steak though . . . egg salad
Brilliant acting,
Before hitting play. Is this white caps ?
Yes
One of the craziest episodes!!
SEASON FIVE FUCKING RULES
No Asia...Svetlana told Tony it was the nurse who told Katarina that Tony slept with Svetlana because the nurse walked in on Svetlana and Tony. Tony was asking Svetlana why she told her cousin they slept together, and she explained that she didn't. The nurse did, and Katarina called Carmella as payback because Tony beat the assemblyman so badly in front of her that they broke up. She was happy and in a relationship with an important man, and now she has nothing and is back to square one.
Sending love to everyone 🌟
Everyone Stay Warm We're Everyone At It's Going To Be Cold Drink Some Hot Chocolate Or Hot Tea And Enjoy Some Movie Or Tv Shows Reaction 😊
That second fight between Tony and Carm, in the entertainment room, David Chase said he always regretted not writing the line for Carmela when she was admitting her feelings for Furio......"The past year I've been dreaming and fantasizing and masturbating and in love with Furio....while i was lying in bed.....next to you"
That hat the truff
Great reviews! Thanks.
War Dogs
Branca(Nurse) got upset with Svetlana because she took FICAFederal Withholding from her Check $ so she snitch to Irina knowing she was already pist with Tony for whipping the Police Captain Zelleman with a belt.. and for never taking her back also.
The Saga Continues!! 😊✊👊😆👍👌🍁😲🍁
Tony brought this on himself he shouldn't have beat Zellman like that cause they we're business partners, and it kept Irina out of his life
Yessir
Longtime fan here- bro you gotta get rid of the Astro’s hat man. F the stros man
Well BJ Meadow is kinda Mellow!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
When entering the home, shoe's come off then bee line to the bathroom for hot soapy water to the dirty hands. Thankou very much............😁🤣
Whitecaps is one of the hardest episodes to watch for me. The Tony/Carmella argument is so raw and realistic, it literally makes me feel like I'm in the middle of a spat my folks had many years ago now. Phenomenal acting, probably the most raw moment in the entire series.
Great reaction, guys. He basically threw his family away for sex. I wonder why people like his character get married in the first place? Just stay single..
