I'm 68 and cry everytime I I hear this song...
I get in my feels every time I hear this too. It's like he's singing it to me only ❤
Me too!
This is one of those guilty pleasures. Some People diss Barry as being too syrupy, pop love songs. But when I first heard THIS! WOW! BTW, the original recording is just haunting, even more beautiful.
Nothing to be guilty about, he may not be the hippest out there, but he is an accomplished artist, and this is a beautiful song.
The real guilty pleasure is the TakeThat version, and I love it!
totally agree. his ballads are so cathartic.
Yea when I first heard it I was floored and I still tear up every time
No, that's wrong, when Barry Manilow first started he was considered a very good and respected singer. It was only several years later that he slipped into that Las Vegas showbiz performer, his early stuff is held in high esteem.
She's crying and me too. Though I've heard this song a million times. That's a special talent. How dare anyone diss you Barry
When I saw her choking up I was like “yeap welcome to this song mastery” 🧡
I cry everytime
Me too he sounds so vulnerable at the start. So gentle.
Hitting every note perfectly while playing the piano.... nothing short of amazing.
The lead in and the ending piano is an excerpt from Chopin’s Prelude in C minor…Manilow loves Chopin. ♥️
This is my all time favorite song of his!!
I have chills. This song is unbelievably gorgeous.
Totally agree , beautiful
Based on a Chopin piece, I believe. One of the most beautiful songs ever. The longing was in the lyrics and music.
Barry Manilow is a well-known jingle writer. He wrote the band-aid jingle, ‘I am stuck on Band-Aid…’, as well as McDonald’s ‘You deserve a break today…’ and he won awards, too. So talented…
I was in Las Vegas over the weekend and took my 60 year-old mother to his show for her birthday and that was such a beautiful song when he sang it live. Listen to his song Mandy too. Barry is a true legend.
Amazing song...I wish young people would listen to real music and discover a new world.
This is beautiful music that’s timeless.I love his music because when you hear it you can feel the instruments and the genuine lyrics. That (feeling) I see on your face, you get it. The music captures your heart and your ears. That’s the ultimate love for someone.
I remember seeing this exact show when I was as only 12 years old, and instantly falling in love with this song. I’ve longed for this kind of love my whole life.
Your facial expressions reflect every emotion I feel whenever I listen to this true masterpiece. A love song of the highest order and as such, definitely has a tear jerking quality. Comparing this to most other "love songs" is like comparing Wuthering Heights to an everyday romcom...
It makes me so happy to see people appreciate Barry Manilow. It takes me back to my teenage years when there was absolutely no one else I listened to! Could it be Magic is one of my favorite songs and I know exactly how you felt when you heard it because that’s been me for the last 40 years. Great reaction. Thank you so much for doing this.
Barry Manilow-Some Good things never last is beautiful! A must!
He's like the American version of Elton John. The guy is amazing
Agreed....along with Billy Joel who is more gritty and also massively talented...
Your reaction deserved this:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
I loved how the song grabbed a hold of you!
This is my favorite love song ever!
Especially the studio version.❤
The studio version is divine! I've loved that song since I was a little girl.
Watching other people being moved by Mr Barry is beyond awesome! His songs sing straight to my heart.
Barry, king of love songs!!
You should hear the later version of the song-Could it be magic on his album!
Barry is so talented. Love his voice and his song's make Me cry.
"Could It Be Magic" is a song with lyrics by Adrienne Anderson and music by Barry Manilow, based on Frédéric Chopin's Prelude in C minor, Opus 28, Number 20, so this song was based on a classic by Chopin. Donna Summer did her version in 1976.
Yes her version is beautiful as well two of my favs Barry and Donna doesn't get better than that!!
I'm a rock/blues guitarist and admitting I love this song is quite something but it's just a beautiful song 🎵 and extremely well written. Love it and yeah guilty pleasure. Hats off to Chopin also...
Those of us who are Musicians have our musical preferences but we can listen to a song and view it differently from the general public. We hear the intricacies and nuances in a song that people miss yet we appreciate in a profound way. I agree that this is very well written song.
By far my favorite Barry Manilow song, nothing else by him even comes close.
"NYC Rhythm", "Mandy", "Somewhere In The Night", "It's A Miracle", "Tryin' To Get The Feeling" and a dozen more!
Somewhere In The Night and Could It Be Magic are songs I call "sex on a plate." Oh my.
Barry Manilow has such a special voice. Every one of his songs are great. Please listen to more. Listen to I Write The Songs and Nights In New England.
"Weekend in New England"
Barry is kinda like the male version of Karen Carpenter.
@@jimfrederick3907 thank you for the correction. You are absolutely right.
I love how artists like Barry, ABBA or The Carpenters were dissed even at the height of their popularity for being too sappy, i guess they were just ahead of their time because here we are, appreciating them now probably more than ever. Loved your reaction, this performance was so moving and Barry is so special, a legend.
I always got goosebumps when i listen too this song. MANDY was another good one!
That’s being released in less than an hour
Jayy-you should listen to the recorded version on the album! His vocals are even more amazing!
My favorite Manilow song.. it’s beautiful.. Your reaction is everything
Growing up in the 70’s, Barry was the soundtrack of my life (and Barbra) ❤️❤️❤️
Bad boy track smh Barry is one of thoses rare artists whoses songs really leave a lasting impression truly legendary and all credits deserved for his integrity. Outstanding
"Ready To Take A Chance Again" - Goldie Hawn Driving down the Pacific Coast Highway in the opening of "Foul Play"
Love that movie!😄
Greatness
Beware of the Dwarf! This song sets the stage for the movie right at the beginning. Classic.
YES 🙌
I was living outside of San Francisco when Foul Play was released. One of the TV stations in SF had a big "Premier" and Chevy and Goldie were there. I got all star struck. That movie is still one of my favorites.
I think the word you were searching for is passion. What a masterpiece!
I was introduced to Barry Manilow's music by my oldest sister. He writes the most beautiful, romantic love songs I've ever heard. Could It Be Magic is my favorite. It's a melancholy, hauntingly song. Every time I listen to it, it takes me somewhere, like I'm in a trance. He has such a nice voice, and he is one of my favorite pop singers. He's gotten much older now, still performing, and even though I'm much, much younger, I still and will always remain a fan .
When I'm driving late at night I like these kinds of songs. I think the word you look for is 'haunting.'
He is fantastic! Great musician lyricist and showman. I lived by his songs in the 70s. He is magic.
My college roommate and I would listen to Barry before we went to sleep. Back in the 70's. His voice is amazing and he still is.
You liked the build. The crescendo, the climax.
This song is like making love to music if that makes sense. Barry starts off slow and it builds and builds until the finish. I hope this makes sense.
Thanks for posting.Your initial reaction when he began to sing made me weep.
This song always makes me feel so melancholy and elicits tears like crazy...
i cried first time i saw mr m anilow perform this one...my all time fave by manilow...thanks for sharing
That song. He just gently pulls you in, and delicately builds up to this intense crescendo of music and emotion, then surprisingly brings you right back down to the beginning. He is a true talent.
My dear, i have a genuine
respect and desire for Barry Manilow's music. It
has pulled me through many romances and emotional times. I thank the Lord Jesus for this
artist.
Every song he sings feels like he is singing it to you personally. I have followed his music since he began his singing career and have had the
chance to see him several times in concert! Love me some Barry!!!
This will song will capture you emotionally. Never get use to hearing this song.
In my opinion this is the most romantic song ever written & sung.
Love, love, LOVE this song!
Fantastic performer and still going strong. Believe he just came off yet another tour. Now back in Vegas
This is a great take. Much love and respect. 🧡 I have a pet peeve with reaction channels and only clicked on this cause I love the song and you are the first reaction channel that didn’t stir up any of the pet peeve. It’s clear you are just simply yourself enjoying the music in a transparent way without adding unauthentic over dramatic expressions for clicks and views. THANK YOU.
If I ever find the woman to marry, I want this played at the wedding.
You can marry my daughter! 😊
My all-time favorite song by Barry Manilow! ❤❤❤
The studio version of the song is even more beautiful! ❤️My favorite Barry Manilow songs..."Read em and Weed", "Weekend in New England' Loveeee his music!
BEAUTIFUL ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🎼🎶
The world is missing romance like this..
he does this song now as a duet with his younger self. it is AMAZING to watch
He's beautiful. Donna Summers also covered this song and did a great job. Love your reaction.
This song was written from Chopin's Prelude in C Minor. The entire beginning is Chopin's Prelude.
I agree 100. Love your reaction. Manilow is magic
. This song is a prayer. He's literally manifesting her into reality with it.
On the 2nd half, dueing the crescendo of the piano instrumental, when Barry rises up and slings that mic back , you FEEL that
Integrating Chopin into this classic put BM on the map.
This song takes you on a ride.
Love Barry been following him since the 70s he has an amazing voice
Barry wrote his own music and other singer's 😎
“Drama” .. ”Dramatic” I think are the words you’re looking for!
MY FAVORITE BARRY SONG and I love all of them.
One of the most romantic songs I know.
Yup. It's the build in this song -- vocally and instrumentally rising in each successive chorus -- that makes this song. It's also among the most "rock," (lol), songs Barry Manilow ever sung.
THANK YOU JAYY, I just knew you would like Barry. I've been a fan since I was 10. Barry also has a more upbeat version of Could it be Magic. I'm a huge fan. Fanilow.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ By the way Barry wrote this song. The backup singers are called Lady Flash. They were his singers back then.
Barry Manilow and The Bee Gees were the hottest thing back in the days.
Have you previewed Barry Manilow’s I am your child? It’s this song I dance with at my wedding with my dad. My dad has passed but the song is absolutely beautiful. I love your reaction to his music. I’ve loved him since I was about six years old. He’s amazing man with an amazing voice. Please listen to it
Barry music will make you feel like you were in heaven
STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL SONG. ❤❤❤❤
Always loved his music. Especially this song.
From my childhood.First heard it in 1975 in short version.Even in Sept 4th 2021,still just as special as the first time.1973 was a great year. This song's beginning.
I love this song and Barry also. Stellar!!
🥰🥰🥰 MORE MANILOW PLEASE
CAN'T SMILE WITHOUT YOU
WEEKEND IN NEW ENGLAND
MANDY
The perfect song
merciiiiii !!!!! just heard this original version in an amazing art French movie..... still upset....with tears only music can make
I think this is his best song. I still listen to.
So this was her first time hearing that song?, well it is amazing how Jayy picked up on how amazing this song is right off. It takes a while to get going, but those chords are important and I think they got her good! lol But as the song goes the intensity builds then slows down and the tears were beautiful. The lyrics are so powerful. Listen to the recorded version which is flawless and it is amazing.
This is a great song to play for the bride and groom dance at a wedding.
I love Barry❤
One would be so blessed to find such a love.
Love ❤️ Barry Manilow ❤️
Got to see him in concert 2005. For me it's
Elvis presley
Barry Manilow !!!!
And this is why I love his music. It moves me and tells so many stories of my life. The sounds mesh so magically and beautifully but the lyrics, omg, they are what seals the deal
And then came Take That and all the Girs in the 90´ies felt in love with this Song
"He was my singer when I was a teenager. Today, at the age of 58, I come across a song and an interpretation like that 🙌.. it's fantastic!.. thank you, Barry! For existing and sowing love for people!" Hugs from Brazil 🎷👏👏👏
Goodnight 🌹🙏
Mandy, is a great song of his.

GOOSEBUMPS….IN WAVES…..KEEP COMING. WOW
Thanks for your nice reaction , beautiful girl....
Beautiful beautiful song
Yes, original is best. Every time I would hear it in my car I had to BLARE IT!!! Same with so many songs. Like Queens Bohemian Rhapsody.
Need to listen to Mandy.....by Barry Manilow
This song is awesome .It really is an emotional song to me
He was so huge in the 70s that when he won I believe the AMA for best artist, he gave praise and support for Billy Joel as an up and coming star. At least that is my memory.
Love the climax of this song. C'mon cmon oh come into my arms
This one makes me cry..every time
