I'm sorry I made you cry. That song is special to me. Barry Manilow makes all his music very personal. Everytime I hear this song, I cry. I was crying with you. I hope the other song doesn't make you cry. If I should love again. That's why all us Barry Manilow fans love him so much. He writes and sings what we feel.

The purpose for Barry's songs is to touch the listener in a deeply emotional way, and this one (the first time I heard it was nearly 20 years ago) hit me like a ton of bricks, but really in a good way. BTW, I am a huge Manilow fan and am happy that you suggested one of his lesser known songs so people can really hear what Barry sings about.
You have to love this man and his music.He is special and sings from his heart.
I have been with Barry since the early 70's,he is the best,he sings song to make u fell good or bad about a relationship. He puts so much heart and soul in too his music u just can't stop loving him.

I heard Barry say in more than one interview, that his goal in creating the beautiful music that he does, is to make people feel something. I’d say he has full mastery of that, wouldn’t you.

You’re right, everyone has someone this song makes them think about. For me it’s my grandmother…I have a short playlist I listen to on her birthday, anniversary of her passing, or just when I miss her. Songs she liked and a few more of Barry’s that go straight for the heartstrings, but sometimes you need to feel down before getting back up. (Even Now, Life Will Go On)

Sorry to say it is true Jay, I too lost the first true love of my life and it's been hard the last 45 years being without her. Or knowing and wondering what might have been. I took this song away long ago because it hurts so bad and product the memories of the day when we lost her son to cystic fibrosis, and by no fault of our own drifted apart do to those stresses. I cried so hard along with you and played it again just so I could feel real again and remember the Happy Days. I know she watches over me, and I do the same for her. Now my life has been lived through Barry's song even now and several others. I thank you for your Channel and Kimberly for requesting this song it took eight months before I could write or tell you about this experience it still hurts so bad but I've learned to go on. Please never be ashamed for having that Pure Love in Your Heart for someone else. I hope you see this comment
