This is a lovely tune.It looks back to a time when we were innocent and carefree ,either we could go back to those days. Many thanks to The Bay City Rollers for the good times we had.So sorry to hear about Alan, Les And Ian wishing your families all the best, we will always miss them it is the end of an era..God bless all of you, wouldn't swop my memories for anything. Find it hard to believe it was so long ago.Keep on Rollin.x
I liked this song a lot when I was 13. Later used some of the Faulkner/Wood lyrics for a paper in high school. Today in 2020---It's still a great song.
It’s true, this album had so much of their personalities and somehow you could hear the sadness and sweetness in Les’s voice as if he knew it was ending. Another Rainy Day in New York City, When I say I Love You, two of my favorites as well.
The photo taken at Nathan Phillips Square (City Hall, Toronto Ontario Canada) brought back such a surge of emotions. I was there in that crowd. I was maybe 14. First crushes for a young girl. This song and it's lyrics, along with the photo montage makes me realize how fast the years have flown by. Now 45 years later I listen to their music and wish I could relive parts of my younger years. Those were some of the best years of my life. The death of Les McKeown has been particularily difficult to accept....my childhood dying and falling apart before my eyes. I still 'feel' young. Where did the years go. RIP Les. RIP Ian and RIP Alan.
Oh my gosh Wendy H, that's exactly how I feel! Les passing feels like a major rite of passage in my own life. Loved and miss all of these guys so much, but I particularly love the "big 5" and Ian. Still feel like my 14 yr. Old self pining for Eric, and feel broken hearted that the good old days of Roller mania are a distant memory, and the passing of Alan, Ian, and especially Les, being the undeniable voice of the BCR, have brought such a sadness to my heart...
Some of these songs seem haunting to me from 45 years ago. Listening to them now and listening to the words All these years and now half of them are gone. It I don't know it's just haunting to me to me.
It's amazing that this song feels like a look back and a goodbye to an era. It has a real mature sound. Those critics who accused the Rollers of being untalented or manufactured are for one thing, WRONG and obviously haven't checked out their later songs. The guitar work by Eric is epic! He truly makes those strings sing!
A whole stream of folk lost track long before the Strangers lp was put out. As seen by the survey on where each lp charted and at which position. Globally
No question that beyond all the sugar coated pop stuff that they had to cover or that was written by others in the name of profit, these lads wrote some legitimately good songs! It's a shame that they're still largely hidden from view.
us older gals who saw or listened to them in the 70s need to meet, bcr fans are super nice, loving people, i would love to hang out with you at least yearly.
Actually didn't know about them but today I just gamble on buying this album on vinyl in a shop selling old vinyl records because I was just curious what was it? It was quite expensive but still I gamble buying it. All the gamble paid off because I really love their songs. Next day I will go back to that shop to buy that other BCR album. Hope no one will buy it ahead of me. Thanx BCR for wonderful songs. A new fan from the Philippines.
The song is lovely, the harmonies in the chorus are gorgeous! It is also very sad, as I now know all the pain they'd gone through with such a controlling and nasty manager in Tam Paton. I truly hope they are all thriving
God that I love this perfect song, this is so beautiful melody with very touching lyrics and band is amazing and arrangement is perfect, what else would I ask for a perfect music? I´m straight man but have to tell that these guys looks so beautiful, so much happiness in their eyes and they had everything they could ever dream of. I have never stopped loving this band so much no matter what other people think BCR is to them. To me it´s everything and that´s all accounts. Greetings from Finland.
@@jannylovesbcr I love all your videos. I've got a bunch saved in my phone. Where do you get all your pictures? You have a FB page? Are you posting BCR stuff on there???

Thank you Janny for uploading this very deep touching song. I never knew this is Eric's and Woody´s written, I thought Leslie wrote lyrics almost every song. But to me it really doesn't matter so much, I still love this soooooo much anyway and these great pics by you dear Janna. Me too love just about every song or at least they are quite good and nice to listen. Yestarday´s Hero is absolutely one of the bests no matter it´s their cover version. Rock'n Roll Honeymoon is also damn good like Money Honey especially Eric's intro with Derek drums sounds still awesome.
Thank you for all the wonderful BCR songs that you post!! I really enjoy listening to them and I listen to your songs the most!! The quality of your songs is great!! Thanks again!!

I will try and answer your questions but this is just from what I remember reading and not sure how true some of these things are.... :46 - Woody and Eric's house that had a fire.1:08 - not a clue where this was taken. 1:26 - not a clue 1:56 - girl won a contest but not sure where this was. Some of these are photos so there is no story with them.
Janny: Love this video. And have several questions about it: at :46 do you have any idea whose house/farm is in the background? At 1:08, mountains in background- know where this was taken? 1:26 the kilt pic, what was the occasion? 1:56- who is the girl in the middle and where was this made? Love the building. Sorry for all the questions, but I'm a Gemini and my curiousity sometimes is insatiable especially about the "background" type stuff.
Does anyone has any idea where is that huge gig loaded with crowd on 0:55, where is that picture from? That is the same picture which is on Dedication album with double cover so this picture is inside there on both sides. I listened Yesterday's hero many many times where is also that audience voice there. Couple years ago I found out it was cover song but BCR did it so much better by singing and as a band and arrangement.
Most of us here are old but this music makes us all feel young and energetic... God it's good to be young

Fantastic song. Probably my favourite Roller track.
