  • This video gives the idea of the different variants you can come up with while spraying Kandy Basecoats over different cooors other than black and white and/or silver and gold colors. Opens up a new world of colors and customization.
    Thanks to Mr. JoJo Munoz who gave me the idea of spraying the Kant basecoat over other colors outside of the norm.
    This gave room for material savings and also a nice vibrant look! Though it still looks quite different from candy it still has a look of it's own!

    The finish looks great but dang it don't look like the booth has a lot of air flow taken that mist out

      I actually needed to change the inlet and outlet filters on this cross draft paintbooth, but it turned out descent…I would’ve flow coated after the change, still thinking on it!!

      Customer wasn’t trippin on that…though I could’ve repaired/filled it, If I was at my shop then I probably would’ve threw that in…but this job is the owner of the shop’s grandfather truck which he didn’t specify..and I didn’t do the bodywork on this. It was already painted but they weren’t content with the color “PRV velvet red”. It looked plain so they wanted to add a little flavor

    Nice color brother. On these Kbc. Does it give you a even match since you painting the bed first. Then the cab?

    • @whipzpaintlyfewithjay9654
      @whipzpaintlyfewithjay9654  Год назад

      Maintaining air pressure and reducing the base by the same ratio, while also doing the same number of coats should be good for the match!

      @whipzpaintlyfewithjay9654  2 года назад

      @@3rekoatskustoms929 honestly, I try to keep following my pattern, though I don’t stay exactly the same…I know with this Spies Hecker clear I have to move at a descent pace and keep my focus. But I did have a semi dry spot on the back of the cab because I really couldn’t reach it, due to the step up part

    You need better extraction in your booth all that mist just landing on fresh clear coat can affect the finish and give it a dullness great job though

  • @mahirfredericks4013

    What grit sandpaper you use to sand down that first base coat? And was it wet or dry

    • @whipzpaintlyfewithjay9654
      @whipzpaintlyfewithjay9654  Год назад +1

      I normally use wet 1000 or 800, but if you use 800 be sure to sand smooth or there may be fine scratches in it…depending on brand of paper

      @@whipzpaintlyfewithjay9654 No problem my friend. Also goggles. It goes in through the moisture in your eyes. These chemicals are neuro-toxins. You don't want any of that stuff in your body. Look forward to your next spray.
