It would be dope if you could include a clip of peeling off the dip from the previous video in the next video. Been interested to see how these experimental dips look llwhen they're being removed
House of Kolor Kandy paints are my favorites. I painted with them in the 1970’s and ‘80’s, when they came in lacquer. Your Kandy Apple Red turned out beautifully. I’m looking forward to seeing other Kandy Kolors.
Not going to lie, I kind of want to see candy apple red put over Leandra Gray. Alternatively, a two-tone paint job with Leandro grey and candy apple red.
@@Dontfearthereaper001 I agree. I cannot see any texture and I polish paint for a living. I've seen OEM clear coats with more texture from orange peel!
Fonzie please please use clear 5 gallon containers so we can see the colors mixing better... And yes keep playing with Candy, I think a green candy would look sick on the F-150
@@GR_Astrophotography Yea it’s the same as clear tubing for water cooling computers, but it does take time to stain the plastic and make it opaque. Oooooh! That turned out much better than it looked like it would. I absolutely love it. Red it the best color anyway in my opinion and this is absolutely beautiful.
Shoot the Kandy red over gold next time. It should give you that deep killer candy apple look like the color of an actual candy apple. Atleast with paint it looks 10x better than a silver base.
This came out absolutely stunning. I'd love to see a cobalt blue candy paint somewhere in the future because I've always wanted to do that for my car but was always nervous on how it would turn out.
i like it, If the car is already a factory silver, from toyota , is it possible to save a step, and sand the clear coat on the car , then apply the candy over top and clear coat
6:40 and I am loving the colour already! I was thinking at the start that a white base would have looked better, but nope, so happy to be wrong! The black base really makes this finished product something I’d love to have!
Nicely done for a fraction of a traditional candy paint job! Love it great R/D on DYP products hope to see more mixture with other products compatible.
Would love to see a gradient black to white base (back to front) and experiment with candy hypershift pearl on top of that. Gives us a full spectrum visual.
Today was a good day to fall into the RUclips rabbit hole!! 😆😆 As I watched several videos, I’m amazed and stunned at the final product! I’d love to do this to my car but that’s not happening anytime soon and that’s OK because I can watch all your amazing transformations!😁 I have to bring this up because unless you have ever worked with color in any form, there is something most people don’t know about testing the color and I thought it was AMAZING that I saw you did it!!! The BLACK paint stirs!! Yes I know they don’t come black and yes I’m going to assume you have a set up to paint or stain a bunch of them black. People often think you need white to test color but actually, BLACK IS VOID OF ALL COLOR so if you test a color on black, you then will see what the actual and true color is and will be!!! Like I said, to see this is absolutely amazing and yes you have a new subscriber because the dips I’ve seen so far are fantastic and the Candy Apple is perfect!!!!
Probably the best one I’ve ever seen. Looks so much like the Mazda red from the factory. I’m sure it’s not as glossy in person but damn it looks close enough for being diy plasty dip. Super impressed.
I think this is just the nature of it being plastidip is not much tou could do to improve it. A candy coat is at it's best with a smooth, bright silver undercoat and dip just cant provide that in the same way traditional paint can do. I paint models and candy coat can be the trickiest to make look perfect
@@stevelozano9523 a bright gold isnt going to deepen the color too much compared to bright silver and will alter the color more, though that may be desirable in some cases. A lot of what makes a candy deeper is the candy itself. If you really want to deepen it you candy over a more chrome like paint. Ultimately a gold undercoat isnt going to solve the dullness problem. Candy Apple Green would the next choice... I was shocked how red it turned out, it looked more copper/orange when you first sprayed it. At least from the footage, the gloss and color looks pretty close to almost a factory paint job.
The reason it looks copper/orange is because of the first pass it usually takes around 5 passes the more the darker it all depends on how the customer wants it to look they are usually shown the results on a spray sheet with different passes and then they choose it is a good idea since the bill won't be less than 7,000 and upwards to 15,000 and more just wanted to share that have a nice day my friend
You're thinking like a plastidipper and not a painter. You actually do want a very thin layer of a very saturated red over silver for the candy effect. It looks great but it'd look better if the entire silver aspect wasn't hidden.
I just want to see a car in that black cherry effect of the candle apple in the bucket. That was sweet! Okay, I commented before seeing the end result. Amazing! *drool*
I have a stock silver painted car that is a tiny bit darker than the silver base you used. Do you think I could skip the silver base coat and go straight to the candy?
Wish I could find someone local to TN who could help me make a crazy purple dip combination like you did with this read HOC red. Also wish I knew a shop I could trust to do the spray to a reliable level that was easy to remove.
This reminds me of the Soul Red Crystal Metallic on late model Mazdas, but more strawberryish? It's an awesome color in the end, of course requires several stages to get to (black "primer" base, the silver, and then the candies in the gloss coat. Worth it!
Looks awesome fonzie! If I'm honest, it reminds me alot of the factory red color that Mitsubishi offered on the last few years of the evo x run. I love this. Would love to see a shadow black or something a bit darker with a candy gold or gold flake. Always liked the black and gold combo.
It doesn't quite have the depth you would get by using the traditional green pearl and layering the red on top. But I wonder if you could achieve that with a metallic bronze pearl to get that deeper look. But for the demo of the colour here, I would take it as a colour choice. Great job!
