looks good, those types of jobs can be real easy or really time consuming. noticed you candied twice and had to reclear the tops . coarse flake can be a pain to work with sometimes . what ive found works well for the products / prep work is to flake then clear. cure clear, then sand down and candy then clear . that way if by chance you sand the top off the flake through the candy it won’t stand out once it has been cleared. its those helpful tips no one tells you . doing it that way saves having to candy twice and clearing more than you need too . turned out great despite a few hiccups but thats how we learn . nice job once again
Being able to beautifully lay down an "Old School" candy apple, metal flake paint job is a true test of a car painter and you frickin' nailed it Gunny! 🤙😎🤙
This Job is absolutely outstanding! I am not on Facebook but I feel sure others will post this beautiful job for you! 👍🏻 Great Job Gunman! Thanks for posting here! Phillip Hall
I was kicked off Facebook for no apparent reason, so if you could share this video to some of the car or paint pages you're part of I'd really appreciate it. Let's get this vid to 1M views, this colour is insane, 90 hours paint labor already.
90 hours is good going mate That is fucking awesome man I’ll share in on our Instagram page There was a point in my career where I hated my job and shop but watching your videos has definitely lifted me to where I absolutely love painting cars again Doing jobs like that brings you immense satisfaction You should be proud of yourself
That’s some INSANE skills you showing in this video! I can see you pulled out all the stops to get the flattest panels, and the flattest deepest paint job possible. Lots of experience gone into this one! Congrats!
Anybody who has watched other"candy" videos. Go back and watch this again! Absolutely the most proper way. Hang all panels, spray together, and FOR GOD SAKE, WALK THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF VEHICLE!!!! Only way to get perfect coverage!! Rock on! Great job , and 90hrs was smokin!! Jambs and all. Yeah boyeeeeee!
Car companies paint work is cost cutting oriented, robotic, cold and usually adds no life to the paint job. Your paint work is driven by passion and perfection. Manual car painting is an art that demands tremendous dedication to master it. Wonderful work! 👍
That is some crazy flake! It looks like the aluminum shavings when I port a cylinder head, absolutely ginormous! Great to see you walking the car doing the candy. Can't wait to see the final product.
There are tradespeople and there are very few that are truly passionate about what they do. Gunny you ARE a true master tradesperson. Bless you in the gift that you have instilled within all you do. This is the Picasso of car paint jobs. Thank you for you bro 🙏
WOW!!!! An amazing work of art!!!!! Top notch work as always amazing!!!!! people never realize what it takes to lay an amazing mile deep candy paint job!!!!
I have had this color in my head for years. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I have a trackhawk that I’m going to try to replicate this color on. Thank you so much.
bringin back memories of custom race/ski boats in the 70s Gunny ,who knows mate in 2023 all the young ones will be paintin there projest cars like this after seein you smash this one out ,OUTSTANDING
The final sanding back made a huge difference as it levelled out the surface so when the final clear coats were sprayed it looked spectacular. Doubt many people could afford this.
Pretty sick man I remember we did a 38 Chevy buisness coupe had no fender had to get fiberglass rep ones fit better than most of the import stuff today lol . candy brandy whine is what my dad's painted it did primer sand sealer sand . Then he hit it with gold baecoat then 12 coats of color and 13 if I rember it was like 86 or so but when he brought that out of the booth wow then he said wait a couple weeks the get to wet sanding lol god I hated wet sanding especially in winter we lived in Colorado then .
What an art. So many people pull there noses up when a body shop quotes them for a respray not really appreciating the work that goes into it. People outdoing robots from the factory. Thanks for sharing your work, just excellent.
Bro, what are the chances. Bin watching u for years. Now iv got a C3 Vette I want to look just like this. U always deliver. If your ever in the states I'd love to buy u a beer or 10. I must give u credit for much of my career I learned from u. Much respect.
spray painted like a boss are you called boss spray paint and panelbeaters well done you have a gift take full advantage and see your hard work shine flakes and shimmering glossy finish
WHAAAAT now that's cool mate, Hi mate I've been off the air for a while and this is what you've been doing, I had to just get away from painting for a while (I've been doing mechanical and suspension work on my own projects) and now I see what I've missed I just want to go out to the booth and paint some flakes and candy 🍬 Great job man and an insane end result.
Hey Gunny well mate what can I say apart from fan-bloody-tastic what a beautiful job mate👌 you put a lot of hours into that job and it has to be one of your best ever mate👏🙏👍 Looking forward to see the detailed video with the voice over so I can better understand all the prep work and the painting procedure you went though to get this don🙏👍 John UK.
Looks nice. Your going to have that flake in your booth for months. Lol. I did a job like that over green candy and I was sweeping up the flake for a long time.
ALSA makes some of the best candy concentrate, and my dad used to spray tons of flake on drag cars boats etc. god that stuff is a mess for the booth! great job love watching
This reminds me of those cheesy-styled "cars" on a merry-go-round kind of thing that your 3yr old rides at the fair. The glittered clear heavy plastic over a solid colored vinyl. But it did make the ride more fun, just like this looks like it will. Nice job.
wow you really out done your self in this paint job I mean it look fabulous I mean it's a lot of work sanding spraying and more sanding but the outcome is worth it cheers gunny

Your not wrong.... Clearing first seals up the work... Then cure, sand, candy, clear.... Nailed it ❤❤❤❤
I want a painter job
We did a lot of this back in the 70's. Love it!
