People always say it, but I’ll add my 2cents. Ryan your videos are consistently EXCELLENT. Thank you for taking the time to plan, film, edit and produce all of these videos. Your team is A+
The highest praise I can give is that I wasn't in the least bit interested in what is the fastest tyre, yet somehow I watched the whole video because it was well written, interesting and informative. Damn, you guys are good at Fort Nine.
I ran on my 2014 ZX6R the M7RR for 8000km's (rear tire) with a very uniform wear...super happy with them. Now I'm gonna try out the Rosso Corsa II just for comparison.
Like João Soares said the Michelin Power RS came in last in the 2017 Motorrad magazine supersport tire test. A few months later it also came in last in the 2018 German PS magazine hypersport tire test - the first in that test was the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa 2.
Be careful If you are running the Michelin Power RS. Pay close attention to the ridges that form between the hard and soft compounds on the rear tire, specifically the 180/55 and 190/55. I’ve personally experienced this issue last year (not sure if that chemistry thing is new and has resolved the issue) as well as spoken with a couple of seasoned riders who have low sided whilst running the Power RS as a result of the uneven wear between compounds. This is not technically a fault with the tire but something that appears to affect the 190+ hp super bikes that are ridden hard through the twisties or the occasional track day. The Power RS can indeed get 10,000km from a set and they’re glued to the road for the first 2,500km - 3,000km but that tends to be where the trouble starts. The softer outer compound wears away a lot faster that the harder centre compound and creates this ridge between them that causes unpredictable slippage whilst throttling out of a corner. At 2,600km I took the tire back to the dealer and we measured the difference between the compounds at 2mm, small but enough to get you into trouble. This is very noticeable when starting a turn as the bike feels as if it’s falling when transitioning from the hard patch to the soft. This won’t affect all riders and really only applies to the mentioned conditions as far as I can tell. During the first 1,500km I’d say the Power RS is one of the best tires I’ve run but it can fatigue and loose grip with very little notice if you’re going hard at the track or cornering through the mountains.
Really interesting, I guess im ok on my S2R Ducati only getting about 80hp (first proper bike after 125's). I currently have a power tire with the NOT softer sides but am considering the upgrade(?). Thanks for sharing!
The S21 has a slower, more linear tip in that is very precise and easy to correct mid-corner and stands up really easily when powering on. This really helped reduce fatigue on long rides. The wear on the S21 from about 6,000km started to require more pressure on the inside bar to maintain cornering angle which is a good indicator to start budgeting for the next set. In comparison, the Power RS in the sub 2,000km wear had an amazing ability to maintain whatever lean angle you set, I even tested taking my hands off the bars and the bike maintained the corner without any steering input, just throttle. That's something I really enjoyed about the RS when they were just scrubbed in. Regarding the wear on the S21, at 8,900km there is no ridge at all on the rear, the wear is even across the whole tire and the hard centre line hasn't squared off much at all.
Update after a year on DRC2's with a 60/40 track to street riding ratio, and these tired kick ass! They also last remarkably well given the intermittent highway riding I do straight up and down on that silica patch. Highly recommend.
This was a great video! I live in Florida and right now it rains heavily everyday. I am going to look into the Shinko’s after another view of this video. Thanks Man!

I have been waffling on a new tire after getting the Dunlop Q3 and Q3+ and not digging them. They lack feel and feedback, especially when cornering... they are just too effortless for me. I am a former die-hard Michelin Power Pilot Buyer, as much as I would like to stay American I am gonna give the Power RS a try. I don't do track days, I just drive my 2016 ZX-10r KRT 50+ miles to and from work 5 days a week. We all "Like ]To Go Fast" and lean into corner with confidence but dislike paying 2 to 3 hundred on a tire every 3 to 5 k. Hopefully, these are the perfect tire? Excellent review and description as always! Thanks!
Thank you Robert deniro's illegitimate son for this fantastic video, my pirelli diablo rosso III's dont seem to wear that great or last too long so I've been researching another brand of tire that will wear more evenly and last longer for my monster 821. Again that time of the year when people start wondering what tires to try for the new season.. I am looking forward for your next updated review with some of the newest models (Dunlop Sportsmart TT, etc.) So far it is hard to get a tyre with 10k km mileage but this old Michelin Pilot Power 2 CT proved itself last year on a summer trip in Italy, Switzerland, Denmark where 6000 km it was fresh as 30% used tyre and I ended up the season on 10 000 where the center is scalped but still ridable for another 1-2 k may be. So how come they sell this old (7-8 years) model still and they have not focused on doing better than it for the last years.. If they still sell it, it means it is top deal and it is. Keep it up and we are watching you :D
I run Michelin power. Great mileage and I can still go really sporty in the twisties. Worka for someone who does some city commuting riding and still want to go out and rip!
The fastest tyre will always be the one you have most trust in. I've started using S21 and I just can't get it over my heart to try something else. I just know how well these work for me so I just keep going back for more!
I'v just gotten the S21, and i gotta say man no need to change tyre's in the immidiate future. This is top top quality from Bridgestone. None of the other brands are offering a tyre that excels, not just does well, but performes great in a wealth of conditions like this one. Sick tyre! Pretty odd that it is not in the video.
Don't waste your time , S22 are step Up on S21 , Good Mileage , Warm Up Quick , most Of important lots Of Grip, and as I Found out last week 1400km in the wet they are great I still sat on 120kph to 130kph
Man this was awesome wish I had seen it before I brought the tires I would have went with yhe RS. But I brought V3s for my Busa they are gettin put on tomorrow. Question about how many miles do you think I'll get outnof them? My guess once I got them and felt how soft they are was about 1000 to 1500. 😢😛
I got 2500 km out of my SPv2...Bmw XR, pretty aggressice drive style in corners...You can't slide, too much grip and I always felt in control. Now I went for Pirelli Angel GT's, because those were pretty problematic in even slightly wet conditions...
Running the RS tires on my fz09 and i love them in terms of grip and how they give you tons of warning before breaking loose. However after 3000 miles my rear is shot and thats street riding only. I cant imagine how someone could get 10000km out of a rear.
Never got on with Michelin, such bad feel through the front and rears found them trying to spin up, when traction control on it was constantly working pinning it out of a corner. My fav are the conti race attacks, judge amounts of grip with excellent feel. Great mileage too even on track. was getting 3-4 track days on the rear.
Really good tire comparasion. Little sad that you missed SportSmart TT. Direct competion for pirelli rosso corsa 2. And in my experience, much better. Cheers
Something needs to be said about Pirelli in general for the road - when I had P-Zero Rosso on the AMG (ok it's a car tyre) I quickly found the "Zero" stands for 'zero wet grip', to the extent that they were positively dangerous for normal road use, something that Pirelli share with their other tyres, they don't understand wet grip at all.
When are you doing a review of the new M9RR? The M7RR has consistently reviewed very well as a "do it all" tyre (good in dry, wet and track) I have had a set and was impressed. I'm looking for a new set for a sorted 954 Blade to be used on road and track here in the UK. On my list are the S21, RC2 and M9RR. Have heard the main M9RR update is that it has had electronic use factored into it, so not much use for the 954, so keen to hear if there are other improvements as I would expect. Keep up the good work
Loved the Diablo 2s. If you want a tire that sticks and you can trust to drag a knee in corners, the Diablo is the way to go. I've owned 2 sets but they last roughly 4-7.5k miles depending on how hard and often you ride. Terrain plays a big role too. Biggest downfall is that center, just isnt hard enough. I wore through the center while still having another 3-4k left on the sides. Since then I've swapped to Angel Gts and I love them. Not the best for corners but straights and commuting it shines.
Hello Ryan, Love your videos :) I would really love you to make a video about the best 1. Bikes Best sport, adv, scrambler, cruiser and city bike ?! Going to buy a bike and would love your opinion Have a nice day And as we say in Germany : Gute Besserung :)
Hi. Can you review the new BMW F850 GS? Rode it today and I loved it. Nasty road tyres and not adjusted to me prevented me to enjoy it fully. But oh boy, that's an awesome bike. Had just parked a BMW R1200 GS. I prefer the 850. The 850 is a much pleasant bike. Not as comfortable, but a huge smile maker. Can't decide if it's better than the Africa Twin, on par for sure, again not as comfortable, but a snappier engine. Africa Twin has probably better suspension. If you can have both side by side. Awesome.
I have Michelin PS3 on my car I have Michelin power 2 ct on my first bike cbr250r Now I know which tire I will get when I need it for my second bike Nice video!
Most impressive thing about those Pirellis is the name. I always refer to them as Pirelli Super Devil Racers. If Michael Bay named tires and was Italian, that's what you would get.
Can you maybe sometime in future discuss different front tyre sizes currently I got some very old 130 section front tyres that I just needed to use for a few weeks and they are really great

So where does the Dunlop Sportmax Q3+ fall? I just ordered some for my L1 GSXR 600.
Is that road rash there Ryan, lol! ... thanks for the Power RS review, I gotta try these out on my personal supermoto very soon!
Keep up the good work
Ryan? What happened to your left arm?
I took up mountain biking... expect more flesh wounds in the future. ~RF9
Got gear? Maybe you can make a review video. Good to see you aren't seriously damaged.
FortNine yessss ...you've joined the dark side
Ryan, you should pick up a set of Dianese trail skins (knee and elbow pads); they've saved my skin a few times!
FortNine mountain bike atgatt it is then
Those diablos supercorsas are too sick
I have watched this vid about a dozen times in the last year and it still cracks me up at "carbon black street compound for better mileage" psss
Very well presented
Loved the Diablo 2s. If you want a tire that sticks and you can trust to drag a knee in corners, the Diablo is the way to go. I've owned 2 sets but they last roughly 4-7.5k miles depending on how hard and often you ride. Terrain plays a big role too. Biggest downfall is that center, just isnt hard enough. I wore through the center while still having another 3-4k left on the sides. Since then I've swapped to Angel Gts and I love them. Not the best for corners but straights and commuting it shines.
So what happened to your left hand at 6:28 🤔
Hoping the Power RS does as welll as the PP3. Sad Michelin got rid of the PP3. Logged over 15000 miles total over a few sets of those things.
Can't get enough of these vids, con you clone yourself and make more? :)
Hello Ryan,
Love your videos :)
I would really love you to make a video about the best 1. Bikes
Best sport, adv, scrambler, cruiser and city bike ?!
Going to buy a bike and would love your opinion
Have a nice day
And as we say in Germany :
Gute Besserung :)
I’m a Michelin fan boy. So the RS would be my weapon of choice. Hell I still love the 2CT...best bang for the buck.
Awesome.
I currently ride on a set of Power RS, i'm in love.
I wanna try out new tires, like the Pirelli's, but i'm too scared it won't be as good haha
I have Michelin PS3 on my car
I have Michelin power 2 ct on my first bike cbr250r
Now I know which tire I will get when I need it for my second bike
Nice video!
Top vid ryan as per usual. Like the intro and outro music too. As everyone else has said....what happened to the forearm.?
That road rash is kinda gnarly
Most impressive thing about those Pirellis is the name. I always refer to them as Pirelli Super Devil Racers. If Michael Bay named tires and was Italian, that's what you would get.
We need someone like this for cars
Can you maybe sometime in future discuss different front tyre sizes currently I got some very old 130 section front tyres that I just needed to use for a few weeks and they are really great
AHA you ARE based in van now woo, can't wait for a group ride
Fortnine you need to do the best rain tire for the different bikes
Ryan, did go back to college again just to take chemistry lessons for this video? :D
Super informative!
