There’s also the fact that Selena Gomez guest starred on Sonny with a Chance as SELENA GOMEZ. They knew her as a famous actress on Wizards of Waverly Place. This means that ALL of these shows connected to Wizards of Waverly Place are canonically shows. This means that only Sonny with a Chance is canonically “real life” and the rest are canonically shows where the characters are actually known as their real life actors/actresses.

It's like roger in American dad his disguises work to the people who don't know he's an alien but we as viewers see through it because we already know.
If they wanted to also trick the viewers of the show, roger in disguise would look totally human and we wouldn't question it.

Beyond that it gets complicated because Boy Meets World had crossovers with Family Matters, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Step By Step, and Maybe This Time. The whole actor sharing between different series thing is easily explainable, Disney basically owns their young talent. So if you are in an episode of one series when you're like 9 then it's likely (after a lengthy audition process) you'll be cast in another series either in a main cast or recurring role several years later, also most kids don't have great memories so even with reruns of a certain show they may not realise it's the same actor in two different shows if the shows are made 4-5 years apart

Big City Greens also made a crossover with Phineas and Ferb, which itself is connected to the Milo Murphy's Law. Phineas and Ferb had a crossover with Marvel superheroes. So, there's no "Disney Chanell Cinematic Universe". All of this is basically just part of the Marvel Universe. And with Spider-Man: Now Way Home, we know that basically every Marvel property, is officially part of MCU multiverse. So yeah, DCCU is just one of many multiverses within the MCU

But the thing is, Disney does not care about the doppelgang implications at all though 😂 If you pointed it out, or if they wanted to cross over like, Shake It Up and KC Undercover (both shows where Zendaya is the main character), they'd just say "Oh, these two people look alike, huh", like the Jessie/Bailey situation, or say like "We're not like each other AT ALL" like the Maddie/Sharpay situation (that one time Suite Life referenced HSM). You may say that makes it frustrating and so anything can be anything and there are no rules anymore, but I argue that that makes it hilarious and so ANYTHING CAN BE ANYTHING AND THERE ARE NO RULES ANYMORE!!

Which one is even addressed in an episode of Jessie
Mosby showed up, called Cody, and told him that he just saw a girl who looks exactly like Bailey. Like so identical they could be twins.

My headcanon to explain actors appearing as different characters in multiple shows is that doppelgangers exist. It would have been best if they were explicitly a thing in Wizards of Waverly Place but sadly that's not the case. Another possibility is that although they look the same to the audience, if not explicitly stated that they look the same (in the case of Bailey/Jessie by Mr Moseby), then perhaps in-universe they might not even look the same. Maybe to Zack on Suite Life on Deck, Alex doesn't look the same as the other character Selena played.

And it's worse for kidcoms where Disney Channel AND Nickelodeon are afraid of being overthrown by powerful parent groups that adult jokes are almost non-existent and talking down the audience instead of writing as if adults are watching with them is more common. I think the funniest thing is that in a Halloween episode of Ultimate Spider-Man, Jessie and the Ross family go to a museum in New York, since they live there, and Morgan le Fay makes a... night at the museum where the things being displayed become sentient, and Spider-Man stops Morgan le Fay. This mean that, not only are King Arthur, Merlin, and Morgan le Fay canon in the Jessie universe (perhaps the same magic the Wizards of Waverly Place use), but that the entire Marvel universe is as well. Since Spider-Man and Jessie happen in the same city, and they directly crossed over, anything that happened in NYC in Spider-Man affected Jessie. That means the Jessie cast were all captured by The Collector, were present when Doc Ock and Hydra corrupted S.H.I.E.L.D and the Helicarrier, etc.

Undercover as one of K.C.'s spy alias names in an episode was Rocky Blue and she said something like, 'what kind of a name is that?' Bella Thorne (Cece Jones on Shake It Up) also appeared in K.C. Undercover and her character in referring to pink lemonade, says 'I guess it never hurts to shake it up!' I find it interesting how all of these shows are in the same universe, and clearly, the double character thing doesn't make sense, but they make little nods to it throughout some of the different shows that do this.
