Tri-County is literally the most generic name you can come up with for an area in the US.
The US is broken up into states, and each state has a bunch of counties, Ohio for instance has 88, there are just over 3000 in the country as a whole. Pick any three of them that are all neighbors with each other and you've got a tri-county area. They're most often used for showing how far a plumber will travel to fix your sink and things like that.

I like to imagine most the Pixar movies take place in the same Universe, but I don't really believe they are all connected to one big story, just individual stories that happen to share the same Universe. The Pixar theory is fun, of course, but it's more of a really good fanfiction than what I'd consider cannon or even headcannon.

This is where Coco takes place in, due to the land of the dead (an actual afterlife in Mexican culture), is full of magic and wonders, this fits Brave’s timeline with the will of the wisps, and Inside Out’s more emotional subconscious. And the Incredibles is in the… Buy N Large timeline, because of Syndrome’s Omnidroid and also the fact that Gazerbeam’s skull is discovered by Charles Muntz in Up.
Though, now do I think about it, Inside Out does fit the the first timeline better because of how similar it is to Soul.

My cannon on why there's two afterlifes, is that the one in Coco is an afterlife specifically for those who live in Mexico.
It was created from decades of people remembering loved ones who have passed on, and now the sheer number of memories about those who have died, tethers them to the real world, and when you die, your spirit goes there instead, but once everyone forgets about you, you have no tether, and experience the second death, where you go to the afterlife seen in Soul.

    • @MiloMurphysLaw
      @MiloMurphysLaw 2 года назад +1

I'm not really sure the time period for Incredibles and Ratatouille works. The Incredibles was set in the 60's and while Ratatouille did feel more timeless, there was still a handful of things that made me believe it was taking place in the 2000's, a handful of the cars were new looking (there was some Smart cars in it) and the restaurant branching into microwave dinners was mentioned. Microwaves weren't really popular until the 80's so it can't be set earlier. Bon Voyage may have still looked the same in the 80's but not the 2000's, Maybe that's his son though.

Another detail that could connect onward as a movie within the universe is that lightyear and onward both use big name MCU tier actors (Chris Evans, Tom Holland, Chris Pratt) to play the lead roles, while most other Pixar films don’t, almost as if the in universe companies wanted to use big name actors in their movies. Idk, made more sense in my head.

I think I heard a quote by someone who worked at Pixar that, only the first 10-ish movies were supposed to be in the same universe.
I think it works until Toy Story 4, which is the 21st. If you remove all the sequals, it's 13 original movies.
Honestly, that's what makes sense to me. I feel like now, we're entering a new era for Pixar with more original ideas that don't have to fit into the same universe.
I still like the same Easter eggs like the Luxo Ball, A113, and the Pizza Planet Truck.

Also, I know that brave has no proof of being in the same universe... ...BUT IT COULD LITERALLY JUST BE IN THE PAST (I swear I'm not just saying that because it's my favorite Pixar movie). I also believe what Seamus said about the reality of the afterlife being different to different people, kind of like how the priest guy didn't see the same underworld as the others did in Percy Jackson. Also, onward could be a movie within a movie, like Lightyear. In conclusion, (and in my opinion) all of the Pixar movies fit into the same universe.

The problem with the band Escápula being used as evidence for Turning Red being part of the Pixar Universe is that the members of Escápula could easily be part of two separate universes. This makes the film's ending a bit darker as it means that Robraire Jr., Mei's Tamagotchi, was a living being that died when Ming's panda spirit took over.

Aside from Cars and Monsters Inc, yes, in my conception, every Pixar movie happends in the same universe.
And yes, Cars is a different universe. In the 1st and 3rd movie (I don't consider Cars 2 that much, aside from the WGP), the world is dominated and run by cars. Every living thing is a type of vehicle. The games and Planes movies are also Canon in-universe, and etc. There is a Ratatouille restaurant in Paris, and Incredibles, Toy Story, a Bugs Life, Monsters Inc are all movies in the Cars universe.
Monsters Inc is also another universe. The monsters travels to the main Pixar timeline to get energy.
As for the other Pixar movies... They all share one thing. They all happends in Earth, with Humans and etc. Yeah, sure, Toys are alive, Animals have feelings, Super Heroes exists, Dinosaurs are alive, and all humans have little people controling the feelings inside their head, but, everything connects. Just... Say that the rules of one movie happends on the others, apply this to every movie, and we're golden.

I also had this crazy theory that by and large could be the company behind these movies as well if you want to connect it further, because they’ve come up with all this other technology, so it’s not a stretch to believe they could also have a foot in the film industry, maybe under a different name, it would also explain why they put their branding in the films as well, But by this logic, this also means it’s possible that any movie could be a movie with in the Pixar universe, like for example a bugs life or onward, but it’s hard to know for sure.
