I'm a Milwaukee guy but Skil makes great tools especially for DIY/Homeowner. LOVE that ring light on the Skil. Get with the program Milwaukee!! MKE tends to always outperform its competitors, but as far a ergo's and features, other brands tend to excel.
Great video! I love my M12 fuel impact driver. It's a monster for it's size. But considering you can buy the Skil 12v impact and drill driver combo for under $100 on Amazon, they definitely should be looked at for the homeowner/DIY.👍
That M12 impact driver is tiny monster. When I got mine a little over a year ago I tried it on the lugs of my Jeep WJ and our minivan - it zipped them right off and that was with the 2ah battery that came with the Home Depot $99 kit. When I removed the cylinder head off that Jeep last summer, that little driver and 2ah battery was able to get into the tight spaces underneath to take off the bolts holding the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold, and it did quick work taking off the bolts holding the manifold to the head. I have since gotten the 6ah battery and the M12 stubby, which also punches above its class, but I love that driver for what it can do. Last weekend I installed shelves and overhead bike pulleys in our garage - did it all with that impact driver - drilling, pilot holes, driving the screws. If I was stranded on an island and could have only one drill/driver/impact wrench, I'd have to pick that impact driver.
That's the point of the bigger handle, to have the smallest footprint like with the 2.0 battery and split cell stack with the 4.0... With a slide battery it adds bulk to the bottom and at that point just go with the full size m18. It's a trade off for some with elf hands but I'm glad milwaukee went that route with the m12. Keep compacts small. Go full size if space isn't an issue. Btw I don't have huge hands and have no problems with the grip. Keep the vids coming!
I have the m18 fuel impact and it's great for heavy duty applications but when it comes to 2 1/2 wood screws with Philips heads, it sucks. It has too much power and the impact doesn't kick in soon enough to stop from stripping which makes you push way harder on the fastener to keep from stripping.
This video makes the Skil look amazing honestly. It's in a 5 tool combo rn at Lowes for $99. Basically making it $20. At that price Im surprised it even completes some of these tasks at all. Could care less about a 3 second difference compared to a $300 tool, lol. Im gonna go pick up that 5 piece tomorrow, thanks for helping me decide. Also my m18s aint goin nowhere :p.
The light on the skil is very nice but also contributes to the murder of the battery. That little m12 is a beast. Kobalt XTR all the way tho in my opinion.
I think the combination between well priced Skil 12v tools for most home uses, and the value of XTR for the prosumer/instances where you need more power makes a lot of sense. I’m sure this comment will delight Chervon and horrify TTI (I own 2 Milwaukee tools as well), but someone could spend less than $600 and have all the basic power tools needed to accomplish 99% of tasks (beyond specialized use cases, which is where Milwaukee, Makita, etc. excel).
because I kept on talking, unless you wanted me to continue rambling for a while longer. this is a old video bro. I dont waste time like that any more in my videos
The skill led if for sure nice but im not sure if it will last in the long term. My M12 Gen2 looks a lot more used and its fully scratched and nicked on the metal part. I think a led ring would be allready damaged

I'm about to switch to flex. All the test so far have it outperforming the Milwaukee and I absolutely can't stand on every single Milwaukee impact I've had and my current one has a collid issue. They've all worn out fast under heavy use and even my new one loses spade bits when pulling straight out. I have an old bosch impact from years ago that still has had no issues. My Milwaukee smokes it but for durability it's shit.
Great comparison. Overall you can’t beat Milwaukee, but then again it is more than double the cost of the Skil (PwrCore 12 kit with 2ah batt and charger is $80, or $109 with the Power Jump charger, or you can get a 5 tool kit, 2 batteries and standard charger for $199), whereas the Milwaukee is about double $ .... However, HD has a great deal right now: M12 Impact, Hammer Drill, 2 batteries, charger and and extra tool for $229. The Skil PwrCore line is very good and you can’t beat the value and how they fit in your hand but has currently a very limited tool range. Milwaukee’s range is huge and being you can get the combo charger (12v/18v) with their 18v kits (and should come with the 12v kits) that is a big advantage if you need go back and forth depending how much power you made need. (I suggested that to Skil and they got back to me saying that was a great idea.) As a DYI/homeowner it’s a difficult choice, but good as well. Thanks for the video!
@@WaltWW That may be worth getting just to have it around. This is like putting a Bugatti Divo up against a Chevy camaro and seeing who is faster. Of course the Divo is much faster but the camaro isn’t exactly slow when you consider the price.
Milwaukee’s m12 fuel tool is much more expensive and its TTI’s top of the line vs Skil being Chevron’s entry level DIyer tools. I’m sure if Kobalt had a 12v (or 14-15v?) line it would match up very well against Milwaukee but still being much less expensive. The results were as expected and I’d probably go Skil vs Milwaukee if I ever got a 12v unless I was trying to solely stick to 12v, using constantly under heavier loads, or a mechanic. You can find a 4 tool Skil combo for less than the price of 2 tool Milwaukee and both have the same warranty.
Next time make sure the battery amps are the same u have 3amp on milwaukee and 2amp on skill next time make them even it makes a difference i know u like milwaukee I do to but the skill for the price works just as good
Nice video Dave. I have both of these impact divers. The Milwaukee is definitely a faster, more powerful tool. But for the price, and the features like that ring light and it's ergonomics, the Skil is a pretty decent tool for most people including many pros. For most tasks, the Skil would be more than enough to complete the task. It's very rare you need to push these tools to max out their abilities. If you do, then it's best to move up to a sub compact 18-20 volt model from Rigid, Makita, or DeWalt. For the pros that want to go all in to a platform for the large variety of tools they might need on the job, then the Milwaukee is the way to go. You can't beat the performance and the depth of tools Milwaukee offers. And when you can find them on sale at The Depot during Black Friday or Father's Day sales, the value is pretty damn good too!
I'm looking forward to your unbiased tool tests. Especially the Flex Tools. You seem to be the only tester who's willing to put yourself out on the line and be honest about these new tools. And for that I thank you.
Lo skill nel video ha solo 2 led accesi, quindi gira alla velocità media mentre il Milwaukee è a velocità 3 quindi alla massima potenza, qui in Italia ci vediamo bene😁
I’m surprised that Skil was way behind Milwaukee. Skil rated this impact at 1,100 inch lbs and the Milwaukee is rated at 450 inch lbs. I’ve watched someone else video that rated Milwaukee and Skil 12 volt drills, and Skil was superior to Milwaukee. Did you perhaps tested Skil’s impact driver in Low?
Ironically, this is a pretty good promo for the Skil tool. On the Utility/Price = Value scale, it blows away the Milwaukee. Plus features such as the USB charge port, ring light and jump charging are valuable.
I quit watching out for the first test because you’re comparing a level three 3602 skill level two 2600. The Milwaukee’s gonna beat the crap out of that skill every time period for an actual true comparison comparison level to Milwaukee is probably boxing skills level two. Then reserve the right to say hey Milwaukee still has a third level power which is going to destroy this thing. Do you wanna apples for apple comparison not a grape to watermelon

Lo skill nel video ha solo 2 led accesi, quindi gira alla velocità media mentre il Milwaukee è a velocità 3 quindi alla massima potenza, qui in Italia ci vediamo bene😁
I thank you for viewing Emanuele
You are also talking about something that cost $200 more
I think it's time to flip your log or get a new one lol so many holes
I cant, because most of the tests I do will get in the way form the other side. it is time for a new log soon
Skil is half the price. Does the same job
Battery makes big difference u can't compare when there different amps
I’m surprised that Skil was way behind Milwaukee. Skil rated this impact at 1,100 inch lbs and the Milwaukee is rated at 450 inch lbs. I’ve watched someone else video that rated Milwaukee and Skil 12 volt drills, and Skil was superior to Milwaukee. Did you perhaps tested Skil’s impact driver in Low?
I do thank you so much for viewing :)
The Milwaukee is rated at 1,300 in-lbs. You might be thinking of the M12 Surge.
Ironically, this is a pretty good promo for the Skil tool. On the Utility/Price = Value scale, it blows away the Milwaukee. Plus features such as the USB charge port, ring light and jump charging are valuable.
I think a Ryobi and Skill..
You arent comparing apples to apples here....That m12 fuel is a pro grade tool. The skil a prosumer. Find M12 brushless non fuel, and do that test
the milwaukee has 1300inch lbs of torque not 450
☕🎸🤘
I thank you noname
900in lbs huh
하이임~~~ㅋㅋ
Skil china milwaukee USA!
..nope, sadly BOTH are China..and China owned as well!.. :(
Skil hi & low not use hi lol
I quit watching out for the first test because you’re comparing a level three 3602 skill level two 2600. The Milwaukee’s gonna beat the crap out of that skill every time period for an actual true comparison comparison level to Milwaukee is probably boxing skills level two. Then reserve the right to say hey Milwaukee still has a third level power which is going to destroy this thing. Do you wanna apples for apple comparison not a grape to watermelon
I have many other videos on both of these tools going against other tool brands. you decided to click on this video. I dont care if you stop watching. that sounds like a you problem.
