Safaa Al-Hayali thank you so much
my pleasure.
when i type /Recovery\WindowsRE it says is not recognized.pls help me
when i type cd Recovery\WindowsRE it says the system cannot find the path specified
When I right click I can't even "change drive letter and paths"
You found a solution yet?
same here
Did you fix this? If you did could you please help me i have the same issue it wont even let me reset my pc
It's because the volume is 'hidden'. See my post here. Use 'diskpart' to assign a letter to volume.
almost 2 years alter and I'm guessing we've got no luck?
My recovery environment is enabled but I still can't create a recovery drive. My disk management has 4 sections, 499MB of nothing, 100mb Healthy (EFI System Partition), C: Healthy (boot, crash dump, basic data partition and D: Healthy (page file, basic data partition). What am I doing wrong?
this might be late but it won't even let me assign the following drive letter
@Safaa Al-Hayali My friend i really need your help, i tried this and i feel like you would've actually helped me but when i get to the step where i type "cd Recovery\WindowsRE" it says "the system cannot find the specified path" (it says it in french bcs my system is in french but that's the equivalent in English) and i just gotta say it's been days and I'm still trying to reset my pc and i just can't because it won't let me create a recovery drive, creating a recovery drive is my only issue now and this unfound specified path is getting in the way, i really hope you help me asap thank you
Very clear description of an involved procedure, and it solved my problem, thanks Safaa. This is one of the most polished tech tutorials I have seen on RUclips.
I'm so glad to help you, thank you very much for your feedback I appreciate it.
Hi I have one question about this video. What to do if the recovery drive don't have enough space to copy the recovery image?
My disk layout GTP (2 partitions.) How do I go through the process instead?
Okay, I managed to do everything you said. However, when I got to the end it said windows re was already enabled. When I did the /info it confirmed it. My readout was the same as yours only my recovery is in partition 4... which I don't think matters. It still doesn't work.
Btw, I couldn't ever get the letter to show up in management. When i right click the partition it just gives me a "help" option. That takes you to a website that doesn't help. I had to use diskpart. That gave me a drive I could use to do your other steps stuff. However, in windows management it still never showed. Had to use diskpart to remove it after done.
I cant "change drive letter and paths" No options are available when I try to right click it.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge through this video. It is indeed very helpful and has solved my problem with my pc with no recovery drive. Huge thanks
pls help on cmd part when i write cd Recovery\WindowsRE it says the system cannot find the path specified
It won't allow me to change the drive letter. It is a light gray color
Did you figure it out???
Sir i have 2 partitions. EFI system partition and windows(C:). I can't see any system partition. What should i do
Hi, can you help me how to install wifi driver for windows 10 version 1607? Tried all the tutorials and its not working
E:\>cd Recovery\WindowsRE
The system cannot find the path specified.
please Help me
sme
hi after following complete procedure, in the last while checking /info it shows disabled
What is the key binds to type in the words “WindowsRE” and “Recovery” cause it says it doesn’t recognize the words when I type it in manually. You could’ve at least explained that
Help me idk which is my partition of recovery?
I did everything up to the part when you enable it and even though it says successful, it’s still disabled
Are there instructions to follow if my disc layout is GPT and not MBR?
The random dude on the internet saves the day again. Thanks man.
I have boot instead of recovery. Should I go with it?
Thank you for this tutorial. Easy to follow.
I having problem on it is not showing cd Recovery/windowsRE help what do i do it saying the system cannot find the path specified
I have GPT and only one partiion (EFI system part), i cant change the letter... :(
i solve it
Run cmd admin
Diskpart
disk 0 (disk n) check in disk menagment
part 1 (usually 1 but u cant check in in disk menagment)
assign letter S (u can put one of free letters)
then follow video
if u want remove that letter
simply type
diskpart
disk 0
part 1
remove
.....
solution 2
even easier (works for me)
open cmd as administrator
reagentc /info
reagentc /enable
(sometimas it works and operation is sucesfull sometimes is not sucesfull
but what ever it says it should work)
for example notsucesfull for me but i works smooooth
also try reboot after this maybe it works after reboot
.....
solutio 3
1. u have bunch of programs for recovery to download so they will works fine
2. u have microsoft recovery tools for download and flash on your usb easily to repair system when u needed
3. i can take a recovery image what is even better then recovery bc u have all files in it and tools (only u need a big hard drive to store it)
4. u have one tool similar like recovery it is disk repair tool... just i think that u must have a cd rom for that and disk. I dont know if works on usb.
i hope it helps
btw my eng is super bad xD sry
I think it will already have a drive letter assigned to it then , you don't need to change it
Same problem bro
use cmd.exe as administrator
diskpart
list disk
select disk
list part
select part
assign letter=b:
I don't have a recovery partition what should I do?
Help, after typing cd Recovery\WindowsRE>dir /a its saying that the system cannot find the path specified
Hi Safaa...my drive config is GPT format what do i now pls...any info appreciated
i try to change the letter and path but when i right click on the system partition it is greyed out (i have the 2 part drive)
edit: to fix this i didnt have to change the letter or anything, all i didnt was search for the recovery folder in the local c drive and i had moved the windows image in to ther because it was missing from there.
Whats the problem, when i cant give my system partizion a letter/name like you did. My booting drive is C like yours, but i cant rename the system part of the drive to E like you did. Kinda hard to do the steps then. :p
yeah doesn't work, I get to disk management right click on the patition and all the options are greyed out
Excellent tutorial - helped me out! Thank you.
when i type cd Recovery\WindowsRE it says system cannot find specified path. i cloned my hard drive to a new ssd and it has caused me so many issues please help

I cant choose "assign the following drive letter" , just second option mount...
My disk partition is GPT. Now i have 2 more partition. 1. Windows RE tools 2. EFI partition. But i can not change partition letter. Now What can i do ?
I didn't have the ISO but downloaded W10 media creation tool and put installation media on a USB. I then found recovery file as per your instructions and dragged to my desktop (copy and paste didn't work!) I then went to corresponding system32 recovery location on my system where the recovery file should be but was was absent, and simply dragged the one I'd just put on the desktop into that location. I tried again and was able to create recovery file. Thank you very much
glad you made it

Hi sir no option for change drive letter
such a life saver thank u very much
ALSO... while I had a letter assigned to the partition I looked in it via "this pc" in windows. Everything was hidden. I couldn't even see folders. Is it possible this is why it's not working for me?
They did show up via the dos prompt though when I was following your procedures. Just never in windows.
SOLVED... I think.
I have a Dell and I think they did something funky with the system to prevent the process you are using. Anyway, I did some research and found a piece of software they provide called "Dell Recovery & Restore". Though the icon you get once installed is called "Dell Direct Key".
Anyway, you download that from their site, install on the computer and then run it with your USB drive plugged in. The software finds it, changes it to a recovery disk, etc. Or at least that is what it looks like it did. It was rather easy once I knew the software existed. I can only guess that it was on the pc originally but got erased when I upgraded to windows 10.
thank you finally
doesnt work. We cant change path on disk

No fooling around here. Direct and to the point. I have a picky system that keeps losing the path for some reason, and this fixes it every time! 100% ;-)

I watched other videos but this procedure seemed too complicated. You made less complicated and understandable. Thank you. You are excellent. I just wish you go a little slower and explain what you do and why as you go. 🙏
Thanks Bro

Did you figure it out? Mine don’t say system either, it jus say c

The parameter is incorrect
How I fix it
Same
I cant add e
now my laptop is all black when i tried reseting it
Thank you very much . It works. Excellent !!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
do you have discord? if you do please get in a call with me and help please
didnt work
You mentioned the GPT briefly but did not tell how to assign a drive letter to either of those partitions. UEFI partition has all options disabled while Recovery partition has no options except 'Info'.
Nice and simple video though, but didn't work for me as I could not get into my system drive in the first place.
EDIT Update : Although this video was very simple! Another video by Murugan worked for me as the disk letter assigned was at partition level and focused for GPT based partition. ALl steps were fundamentally the same.
IT WORKED LMAO
This did not help just added to frustration for me thanks for trying though
Desperately happy ↖️ how the above name saves my life on windows 10 with a perfect software recovery tools thanks for bringing back my PC remotely ✅
