Thanks, this was useful, helped me recreated the lost recovery partiton. For those looking for the UEFI Type ID: de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac For the attributes it is 0X8000000000000001
You're a legend. Read trough tons and tons of articles and came really close to re-installing windows but this video and your other video on recovery partitions really saved me. Excellent work, I love that you also explain the things so you actually learn something while repairing your system. Keep up the great work !
Great Tutorial. If the Recovery Partition is missing, then this is the BEST way to create it whether the Drive is MBR or GPT. If the Recovery Partition is there there is a much easier way to do it by just resizing (extending) the partition using the FREE version of MiniTool Partition Wizard. I have done this on both MBR & GPT disks and it works perfectly. Try it you will like it. :)
3:52 that's really useful information. so it seems like we don't really need this partition. only the initial install of needs it if it was there. also good to know that new laptops don't come with it where it is part of windows. thanks for informing me about what it is for
I'm so grateful that this guide exists. After having cloned Windows from one SSD to another, I was looking for something like it, and it delivers. Thank you!
Out of all the videos, this is the one who helps me the most. He covers all the problems I had step by step. Thank you so much. Hope your channel gets more recognition than those with millions views that doesn't even help and they just promote paid programs. More power.
You are a rock star! With Windows Update KB5034439 causing havoc on Server 2022, you released this video at just the right time! WARNING: When creating your new recovery partition at 9:50, choose 'Do not assign a drive letter or drive path' in the Simple Volume Wizard. On one server, I allowed the partition to take F:, and now I can't assign that drive letter. Windows still ties it to the recovery partition even though it disappeared in the conversion.
Terima Kasih bro. sangat membantu walaupun first time. tapi boleh la buat. puncaaa Drive C kecik sgt. igtkan nak jimat. rupanya makin menyusahkan., hahaha
Worked perfectly on windows 11 UEFI for me. I added a new SSD and reinstalled windows on that drive, was left with the recovery partitions on the old drive. I was able to create a recovery partition on the new drive to let me format the old. Every step worked, including the del par override, which helped delete the old recovery partitions from the old drive as well.
Thank you so much. I'm not a beginner user but this was way to convoluted for me to find out how to recreate this damn partition after I cloned my disk to a new SSD and needed to reallocate some space which messed this recovery partition up. Thanks a lot man!
bro is amazing liked + subbed. I was looking for this for a long time tried multiple ways and finally got it done thanks to Bro he deserves at least a like
My HP laptop has a "recovery partition", but when I tried to initiate it by pressing F11 in HP, it gave an error screen stating something like "A required device could not be found" it also gave an option I believe F1 or F8 to go there, but when I pressed, noting happened. I had cloned/moved the OS (Win 11) to a larger drive, but in the process rearranged the partitions, so my Win 11 is at the end, not sandwiched in between several partitions as how it was originally. how to repair/correct/mitigate this, please?
Just discovered your channel. It is very good and I like the way you explain. Can you do a video on basics of Partitions so people like me can have a basic idea. Thanks
Plz.. I'm facing a problem.. From cmd prompt i just set partition 4 as a recovery partition ( with all steps from your videos. The last step was setting "set id" and "gpt") Disk management is also showing the same But When I enable reagentc /enable And then check info It's shows the partition 3(which is my c drive) 😢
For some reason after enabling reagentc and it stating it was successful, it is still disabled and there is nothing in the "Windows RE location:" field. The Recovery Partition is healthy, but the Winre.wim file remains in C:\Windows\System32\Recovery . I've attempted three times with the same result. I'm also making sure to follow UEFI mode instructions for a GPT partition, as required. I'm stuck.
I bought a new SSD to replace my old HDD. It was a Windows OEM version on that old HDD. After cloning, my computer couldn't enter into Windows. I had no choice but to buy an entirely new Windows 11 and installed it on my SSD. I tried twice this way to create a recovery partition on my SSD. The partition was set to that UEFI Type, but each time the winre.wim didn't go to that designated partition. What may went wrong?
hello, i have deleted my recovery partition trying to extend my volume C to the unallocated space and i followed your instructions. i created a recovery partition, but i never found the winre image at any point. when i typed reagentc /info it says disabled and it never showed a location. how do i fix this? i have an error when i start up my computer
did as you said and followed all instructions carefully, I do believe I did it correctly but should I be worried if the partition is called "(basic data partition)" instead of (recovery partition) like in your example? I did the command prompt stuff and yeah its telling me my .wim file is in there...
Great help video. Once the winre.wim is moved to the recovery partition, is there a way to move it back to the C:\\windows\system32 ecovery folder? The WinRE link is lost after "any" partitions on the OS drive is altered?
when you type in the guid of the "new" recovery partition, and you type it in wrong or you wrote it down wrong... is there some place you can look up, online, what it should be?
I see assignment on your C drive as "Boot" in your Disk Management window. Shouldn't it must be on EFI system? (i am struggling to delete bootmgr from C bcz i believe in gpt systems, boot assignment must be in EFI part)
Hello... I want to extend my C drive volume... Where I have three recovery partitions in between C and unallocated volume... In that three recovery partitions the one next to C is having reagent (partiton 4)...how can I please help me with this...
Don't do that at 9:54!! Assigning a drive letter creates massive headaches. Instead just follow the Microsoft instructions which is..... If your disk is GPT, run "create partition primary id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac" followed by the command "gpt attributes =0x8000000000000001" followed by "format quick fs=ntfs label="Windows RE tools""
@itarmy2778 I completed all the steps for recreating my recovery drive partition, but when I went to enable it, it said the Windows RE image was not found. The winre.min file is in my C: drive windows/system32/recovery folder. I am trying to understand why I keep getting this error. Do you have any ideas about what may be causing this?
Great video Sir! I could follow every command and completed the partition and recovery ! I checked my File Explorer and a new Volume "D" appeared .Does anyone know why this appeared? It looks like the new recovery partition I created Thanks!
For some reason, I only ended up with a Reserved partition and a Primary (Windows) partition. No System partition and no Recovery partition have been created. Can they be created later on? Preferably without destroying everything? Also, why haven't they been created in the first place? Disk format IS GPT. So....I don't understand.
After launching any application storgae from C drive reduced after using my laptop for 1-2 hours 1-2 gb storage gone!! Don't know what is the issue,In my desktop i never faced this type of issue.is it happening for the extra recovery partition which is around 20gb?
Hey , there is problem. after completing all the steps successfully, I discovered in reagentc/info that the recovery partition is in partition 3. but in disk management, there is no partition named partition 3. there is partition 4. what should I do?
What if I have a system running UEFI GPT partition with Win 11 as Primary OS and I am trying to access my another older version of Windows 11 running on MBR Partition from previous computer on my 2nd SSD? My dual boot option is hooked up on to Primary GPT UEFI Style and it does give me Dual Boot Menu for both Primary and older Win 11. I lost Recovery Partition for my Older Win 11 on 2nd SSD and that is why I am missing COMMAND PROMPT option from ADVANCED STARTUP OPTIONS for my older Win 11 on 2nd SSD. I want CMD option. What should I do?
great video, you helped me that much!!! maybe you could add the information of missing the setreimage path, because mine was not set properly, and I have to set the path new
what should we do if we dont know the id. I cloned os from HDD to ssd and I dont have a recovery partition now. I need to create one. What should we do since we dont have an id
Hi, i need help please...after a clone, my Windows RE status is Disabled on Reagentc /info and also Windows RE location is empty, meaning i dont have that file to create a Recovery partition. How can i do? Thank you and very nice video.

Hi i install windows 11 but i can't find healthy (EFI System Partition) what can I do?

set id=27 also works
Great video Sir! I could follow every command and completed the partition and recovery ! I checked my File Explorer and a new Volume "D" appeared .Does anyone know why this appeared? It looks like the new recovery partition I created Thanks!
yes it happened with me too. Did you find any solution to that??
Go back into "DiskPart", select the recovery partition, then type "remove". Done.
For some reason, I only ended up with a Reserved partition and a Primary (Windows) partition. No System partition and no Recovery partition have been created. Can they be created later on? What is the difference between already installed ReAgent and Winre? Why did you disable ReAgent and created Winre?
Does the Recovery Partition contain the same diagnostic tools as a USB Recovery created within Windows?
Yes
amazing
great video. worked perfectly.
