  • The Primary season for #Tornadoes is March thru May
However, Tornadoes don’t just happen in the Spring.
A second severe weather season, including Tornadoes,
begins in October and can last thru late December.
    On October 20, 2019 - #DallasTexasTornado
A fall severe Weather event unfolded over the heart of Dallas, TX.
On Sunday afternoon The Storm Prediction Center issued an Enhanced Risk of Severe #Weather and a 10% chance of Tornadoes! The 10% tornado risk area covered a large portion of Southeast Oklahoma extending into North Central Texas.
Sunday evening in Dallas, TX, instability and wind shear parameters were prime, supporting an environment for tornadoes.
At 8:58 pm a damage assessed EF3 tornado touched down in the area of
I-35 East and Walnut Hill, West of Hwy 75
Damage assessments would rate the Dallas tornado
as an EF-3 with winds in excess of 140mph!
The tornado continued to track East Northeast
thru the areas of Royal Lane and Preston Hollow then on to Forest Lane and Interstate 635.
Waiting to the Northeast on Interstate 635 looking to his South and Southwest was Storm Chaser Jeff Piotrowski. Jeff had a clear visual of the damaging night-time tornado, from his vantage point he could see 10 miles to his Southwest
Jeff watched as the tornado sent blinding power flashes through the sky, the tornado…was heading straight for him. Jeff shot footage with his GoPro Hero 7, until, explosive power flashes knocked the power out permanently in North Dallas.
The next morning damage assessments revealed numerous homes and businesses suffered tornado damage as intense as an EF-3 Rated Tornado.
The tornado path length was roughly 15 miles.

Jeff and Kat Piotrowski along with the TwisterChasers Chase Team have looked forward to 2020. In light of the Coronavirus, Jeff and I will be storm chasing by ourselves this year and sleeping in our chase vehicle, when we storm chase the majority of the time. Quite honestly it will be reminiscent of the beginning of storm chasing when you take your own food, sleep in your vehicle and travel very minimalistic. Our hearts, our prayers are for each and every one of you who follow us here on RUclips, Twitter and all of social media as we battle this COVID19 together. Remember to keep a distance of at least 10 feet or whatever the CDC recommends. Let's be mindful of everyone! Truly love you all and wish you the absolutely best.
    As Always,
    Stay Safe,
Think Smart and Be Severe Weather Prepared.

    Peace!

I remember this night so vividly. It destroyed my husband's school that he taught at, and it was the closest I've been to a tornado. I think one of the scariest parts of this video is how hard it is to see, despite being so large and destructive. Thank you for helping us track these storms and keep people safe.

Jeff the way you say "Powers on & off, there we go!" around 2:48 sounds like you're cheering the power on as it starts to come back on almost like "Come on, you can do it!" Haha! The comment saying you have a heart of gold is so true man! Much respect to you for what you do, how passionate you are, and just for being an amazing person! 🙏🙏

My son lives in Dallas. I remember when this happened. He texted me that had a tornado in his driveway (I live in northern IL). It must’ve dissipated or went back up right away because there was no damage to his house or other homes on his street.

Great review of the Dallas 2019 impact. That new intro and other editing work are outstanding. 😎👍
It would be neat to see aftermath drone surveillance added to videos.
What disturbs me at the moment is how many months ago this was, yet seems like last week. Wow, time moves fast. 😂
Stay safe, everybody. Italy and France already tested vaccine candidates with dramatic recovery rates, yet side effects need to be studied.
Hopefully this COVID19 mess will be over soon.

I lived on royal and forest lanes for a little bit a while back lucky I didn’t live there when this happened. unfortunately, my grandparents and aunt lived there. I called them as soon as I seen it on the news but they didn’t answer. I finally got in contact with them and found out that the tornado hit 2 streets over from them and they were fine.
