I live in the bullseye of tornado alley. Was at our local airport talking with a friend when the sirens went off one day. A fast moving twister had formed and was heading at us at a speed of 35mph. Since we were in a metal hanger, we decided to make a run for it in my car. As we were headed out the airport road, the pressure change suddenly caused every window on my car to fog over, so bad , I could hardly see to drive. After clearing the drivers window with my hand, We could see that the road led right into the twister. We reversed course and ended up driving to the end of the runway and bailing out into a ditch. The wind was so strong we could barely stand long enough to reach a drainage pipe. We watched as the tornado hit a national guard armory north of the airport. Luckily, no one was hurt, and this was a small tornado. Can't imagine being caught in one of these F5s.

Me as a kid in the 90's after Twister came out, follow your dreams.
SEE YAI AYE it’s funny you said that because that movie came out when I was 6 and it’s actually one of my favorites till this day.
@@Jayahrdknocc134pl Lol, funny how many people it inspired to get into the industry. We don't get many Tornados in Australia but we do get some good ones from time to time, nothing better than sitting out on the patio at night watching lightning across the lake or watching Hail go sideways along the house. I think we've only had a couple of EF5's in our history. You poor Yanks took the big L on your weather system.
Me to! :D
Good luck to all of y'all!
I live in Dayton Ohio this year in May of 2019 we had a tornado out break it happen right after the sun went down at night and that is really scary when you hear the sirens and you can't see were the tornado is coming at I just pray and held my dog tight that it would go away!
I remember seeing that on the news. Scary stuff. We had a near F5 come through Kansas City area this year. Felt like a train. Glad you and dog made it out alive.
Yea I remember 3 f3 destroyed Dayton and surrounding areas
Wow, that must be so scary!! I live in Northern Norway, the worst thing that happens here is a lot of snow. ☃️ And let’s be honest, snow is not bad at all... We did however in 1997 I believe get 7 meters (22 feet 11 inches) of snow. There was huge walls everywhere. How often does tornados happen in your area? 🧐
@@KristinaSandnes Hi Kristina thank you for the reply and your from Norway how sweet of you Kristina! We don't get many tornado's in this part of Ohio I live in Dayton Ohio yes it was scary that night because it happen at nighttime you can't see were the tornado is coming from I just was praying a lot and holding on to my dogs really tight we were very lucky it went thur another neighborhood and not are neighborhood thank god it will almost be a year now May 29th is when it happen! We get a lot snow some winters here in Ohio but nothing like Norway gets but the last 3 winters we haven't been hit with any snow storms! 3:52 yes youtube subtitles at it again: “that was three burritos on the ground
Was it because of the violet tomatoes?
@@DorotaGabal Lmao yea I noticed the subs saying "violent tomatoes" at 2:26
thats intentional. Hank subtitles his videos
4:58 looks like a planetary shield taking damage from an orbital bombardment
Lol

what is this a reference from?
wow hank this was really cool. Your voice is so interesting to listen to.
"And it's these super cells that are responsible for the majority of the world's violet tomatoes."
Bless your heart, RUclips.
I don't have CC on but I can see them thinking that. This is hilarious
Your videos are incredible, Hank. I found one of them, and immediately watched as many as I could. The production value, your knowledge and expertise, AND your excellent communication/explanation skills really are a wonderful recipe. Love that you incorporate wildlife into your videos too.
Patiently, (but not without eagerness), waiting for your 2019 wrap-up. In the meantime, this is gorgeous! WHY HASN’T THE BBC HIRED YOU FOR PLANET EARTH III?!?!
They license my footage from time to time. I'll try to have that video for you as soon as the year turns. (give or take 3 weeks )
Cheers Medic!
Because any time a broadcast company hires a RUclipsr, they ruin the RUclipsr. Ever see what happened to Brave Wilderness on here? He was great until animal planet snatched him up.
@@greatestever184 That's sad. Sorry to hear it. I wonder if they required things done a certain way, or restricted the process in some way that was detrimental. Too bad, too.
gosh this is my favorite channel, love your videos they’re so beautiful! you have such a big and kind heart ❤️
These look like professional shots from a cinematographer. You need your own show!!! LOVE IT!
We need a pecos hank full length educational documentary! He essentially has all the footage and knowledge already!
Hank, you never cease to remind us how beautiful our world is and how much we need to pay more attention to storms. thank you. your videos are always so nice to watch because you always manage to capture the right moments.
Really well done mini-doc Hank! I loved the editing and music choices. It felt very fresh and entertaining! 👌
My boyfriend was laughing at me because I knew which tornado was which. "There's El Reno...oh that's Pilger, there's the Canton tornado!" 😂
Breathtaking footage as always Hank! Bravo! :-)
2:29 turn captions on, it says " the majority of the world's violent tomatoes" lmao
Edit: 3:53 it says "that was three burritos on the ground"
who in the world would leave three burritos on the ground !!!
You gotta be careful of those violent tomatoes
Violet tomatoes, not violent
2:34 IT SAYS (REALLY AWESOME MUSIC) XD
The burritos got me! 😂
Hank you produce the BEST Mother Nature videos. They’re so detailed, informative, sometimes frightening, but ultimately incredibly beautiful. Thank you for that and be safe out there! 🇨🇦🇺🇸

I mean come on? Who dislikes something like this???
The people who are scared xD
I did because he got the name wrong. These red flashes are called sprites, not transient whatever...
@@nvmffs So? It's literally ONE sentence in the entire video. Maybe he got that part wrong, but what about everything else? Geez...
@@michaelespeland I guess you're right...these are some incredibly beautiful shots. I was just kinda annoyed with him trying to sound smart and using fancy words that nobody would remember.
@@nvmffs I see your point. But, maybe he thought that was the right word. Lets just give the man the respect that he deserves. His content is top notch no matter if he said something inaccurate
Absolutely stunning, as usual hank!
The voice over, the imagery, and the music are well placed that every time I watch it gives me the chills. This is a great, well done video. Everything about this gives it an outstanding and creative feel to it and to watch! I enjoyed it very much!
The man working hand in hand with the nature, brings to life this stunning works 👌♥️ Thanks for sharing with us this footage Hank!!✨
So very well done, once again! The hi-def format is stunning! You have such a great speaking voice & demeanor, and have mastered the perfect amount of background music!
May you stay safe in your travels in the 2020 season! Keep up the outstanding work!
I don't know how I got here but I don't want to leave.
This is one of the most beautiful imagery i've seen in my life.
This is a greater than life experience, this footage is absolutely stunning and super high quality.
I live in Switzerland and I cannot even imagine how it must feel experiencing this in person.
It can be either an absolutely gorgeous experience or an extremely traumatizing one depending on the weather at the time. I live in Tornado Alley, and you just kinda learn to live with tornadoes here.
Holy hell, seeing that turquoise colour of the storm is both terrifying and gorgeous at the same time. One of the best channels on the platform. Thank you for doing what you do Hank, you are saving lives with your collaboration with scientists and meteorologists. Amazing human being with balls of steel!
Hell is much worse! The bloodstained gospel of truth and salvation is 1st Corinthians 15:1-4KJV. Have faith in the blood of Christ Romans 3:25 KJV. Ephesians 1:13 and 2:8,9 KJV.
Thanks for the 1440p, when will best tornadoes of 2019 be coming out, cant wait!

I've loved tornados for as long as I can remember the first tornado movie I watched I was 2 and it was twister it's a good movie and I finally found a good channel to watch that doesn't use green screens
So weird watching this while there is snow on the ground outside my house, but I'll never not watch a Pecos Hank upload.
WHAT a Video! You got my deepest respect. All the photographers and camera operators are incredible awesome. A big shout-out to these dudes!!! Greets from Austria!
They're all his own footage this guy's a professional storm chaser and a musician to boot. Welcome to the channel!
@@Aweal7 Didn't know that. Thank you!
Sometimes when a supercell moves by it is normally on the other side of the river from where I live, so I go out with an umbrella and watch the spectacle of lightning.
I’m going to be a Tornado chaser when I grow up!🥰
That's what I want to be when I grow up, too!!!
Same
Good luck!
But its also very difficult to find there heart breaking beats
Be careful
