      We all have difficulties, thus, we all have challenges we must conquer or work around. You (and I) are the sum total of all our conditions, experiences, and decisions we make in our unique lives. Knowledge, education, and learning can be the great strength we each seek. Education as a formal construct is a racket. Your public library still has free books, and of course the internet has a plethora of sometimes good information and learning.
      Earning a masters degree in science only leaves you in debt. With dicipline, you can learnd the same for free, no debt incurred. Seek and aquire, build upon what you have, and enjoy the journey of a forever student.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but perihelion and aphelion (at 3:30) have nothing to do with the seasons. If distance from the sun was responsible for seasonal weather patterns, the entire earth would have its summer in January and winter in July. Rather, the earth's tilt is responsible for our seasons. In January, the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun while the southern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun. While the norther hemisphere is farther away from the sun than the southern hemisphere during this time, this isn't why it's winter in the north and summer in the south, either. The reason it's cold in Canada in January is that the tilting of the earth means less of the sun's energy is hitting each square inch while more energy is hitting each square inch in Australia at the same time, causing their summer. In July, when the earth is 5 million kilometers farther from the sun than in January, Canada experiences summer because the sun is more directly overhead, and Australia has their winter because they are at more of an angle.

    • @demisbordianu9328
      @demisbordianu9328 6 месяцев назад

      So by this official scientific explanation the earth’s tilt calculated at 66.6 degrees is responsible for temperature differences between -30 Celsius in the northern hemisphere in winter and + 40 Celsius in the south in the same day from the same heat source ( the sun )
      Never mind it completely goes against logic that 5 million km makes absolutely no difference and the only change responsible for seasons is that magic tilt
      Even though we see the full disc of the sun be it summer or winter somehow the angle of those sun rays dictate if it’s time to sky or go to the beach ! 5 million km closer to the sun and we experience winter , I see !! 66.6 degree magic tilt ! No tilt no winter then !? Golden middle ?!
      If you still don’t realise this “scientific “explanation is ridiculous then how come a place like Moscow gets summer averages at about 23/24 Celsius situated at 55 northern latitude compared to a hot average in Patagonian “summer” of barely 19 Celsius situated at 33 southern latitude
      North Pole averages from 0 to -40 Celsius summer to winter
      While South Pole from -23 to -60 Celsius
      That magic tilt does all this and people believe it 😂😂😂

We should be putting way more effort into space exploration and colonization. As representatives of the only known planet housing intelligent life, we've got a duty to preserve, replicate, and spread as much of Earth's essence as possible before its time is up. Imagine if all the people of the world could stop obsessing over wealth accumulation and focus on how to become the first interplanetary intelligent species.

If we (the Milky Way galaxy) are on the collision course with the Andromeda galaxy, and both of us are getting pulled together with other galaxies by the Great Attractor (sounds a bit menacing imho) than how are we getting away from other galaxies by the expansion of the universe? Do they cancel each other out? How do these two forces work together in one picture?

    3:10 While the Earth's orbit is not a perfect circle this has nothing to do with the seasons even though it appears it's what a lot of people remember learning. If it was the cause of the Earth's seasons then the Northern and Southern Hemispheres would have the same season at the same time but they don't. The Earth is closest to the Sun when it's Summer in the Southern Hemisphere but winter in the Northern. The difference in distance to the Sun is barely anything compared to how far the Earth is from the Sun.

      @@SarawiVlog So you mean star patterns (constellations) appear the same to us even after millions of years, it must mean the Earth is stationary and not moving? Good argument but you misunderstood a key aspect of astrophysics. Let me explain with an example -
      Imagine you're sitting in a car moving down a highway. Nearby objects like trees and buildings seem to zip by quickly. But mountains far in the distance appear stationary or move very slowly. And if there is moon in the sky, it doesn't seem to move at all, even if you increase your speed and travel kms.
      This happens because "closer objects have a larger relative motion compared to distant ones. Stars are like those distant mountains- soooo enormously far away that Earth's movement doesn’t create a noticeable shift to the naked eye."
      This is why the constellations appear fixed over human timescales. Hope I was able to make you understand 🙂.

    • @SarawiVlog
      @SarawiVlog Месяц назад +1

       the earth is circle and if its orbiting the sun and at the same time is moving round either to the right or left, wht you see the same sky (i meant the same star patern). We go to your example. If your go straight forward yes you see the mountain stay still. But if you just move your car even little move going to the right or left its gives you another view not the mountain. So if the earth is orbiting and the earth it self is moving circle motion we should see different star patern. You get it?

    • @inziify
      @inziify Месяц назад

      @@SarawiVlog You are absolutely right in thinking that if the earth rotates and revolves, then there should be a slight shift in the star patterns. This is actually a well known phenomena called "stellar parallax", which is actually used to determine how far stars are. The "more the shift", the "closer they are". But it is also true that these shifts are really tinyy (again due to these stars being veryyyy far away), and impossible to detect with naked eye. But yes, you are spot on with the fact that our revolution/rotation should impact their patterns, and it actually does.

    Cool video. It gives you an appreciation for just how finely tuned the conditions are for life on this tiny rock we call home. I recall reading somewhere that the oscillation of the solar system lines up with mass extinction events. The premise seemed to be that our proximity to other stars created a sort of gravitational tug-of-war within the Oort Cloud, sending long-period comets our way, some of which find their way to Earth. The research seemed to indicate we were overdue for a collision. Or maybe we just got lucky and dodged a bullet. Can you imagine something the size of Hale-Bopp smashing into us? Not even Billy Bob Thornton or Bruce Willis would be able to stop a beast like that.
    Anyway, cool stuff. The info was presented in a straight forward way. I did read about a paper that challenges the fast accelerating universe and posits that it is static, that we have been reading the data the wrong way. Wonder what that will do to cosmology if that theory proves to be correct. I guess the Science Channel will have to go back and redo all their gloom-and-doom scenarios about the fate of the universe if that turns out to be the case.

    What a nice video (including some amazing animations) that gives us a comprehensive overview of our solar system, our galaxy (the milky way), and the entire universe.
    We all learned from primary school days that everything in the universe is moving. However, we almost forget this basic fact when we look at the sky, the sun or moon, the stars or galaxies (in evenings), think about the history of the earth and other planets, and discuss the seasonal and environmental changes of the earth, rarely being aware of the complexity of everything in motion.
    There are still many questions that puzzels me. For example, if all the galaxies are moving away from each other (because the universe has been expanding), why there are pictures that show two galaxies are clashing (interwining) one another?

    • @starspark9471
      @starspark9471 Год назад +1

      The sun spins on its axis.
      The planets also spin on their axes while orbiting around the sun.
      The galaxy also spins so stuff is moving round and round the centre of the disc because we're being drawn toward the middle of it. I thought that the "great attractor" is actually a supermassive black hole but maybe it's just a theory by some.

    • @rlibby404
      @rlibby404 8 месяцев назад

      Basically, what is revolving around the Sun is a remainder. There was originally more when the solar system was new but after the chaos, the 8 planets and a few other things were the only things to remain in just the right place and direction to continue on with the Sun, everything else shot off in different directions long ago. The Milky Way I assume is similar, though quite a bit more significant bodies remain on the path than just 8.

      @@Malama_Kithe big bang also called the standard model was already proven wrong several ways but it is used just because it’s too much work to reprogram from a new system so they path the errors using the term “dark” as in asking a high schooler who doesn’t have the answer, what’s 17 to the power of e and they answer 17d d standing for the dark number because they don’t know they answer hence dark flow dark matter dark energy

    This is truly awe-inspiring. Question: Was this perfectly aligned system created by an intelligent being or it all exists out of mere chance? I love science 🎉

    Each phenomena thats illustrated in this video is a puzzle in itself. I wish if they create the most longest video about how the scientists measure things through observations and setellites and draw it through computer and how they measure distances such as to moon, to the sun, plannets, stars
