Assuming that you can never travel at a speed greater than that of the speed of light, you can never reach the edge of the universe, and therefore see what lies beyond. I suggest it's much the same as what we can see. Do you have avev a better idea. ?
Assuming that we cannot travel over the speed of light is not enough to prohibit us to reach the edge of the universe.
And even if you reach the edge of the universe you can never see what's beyond that.

The 'edge' of the universe. Looking at the edge of the universe is much like the ego and how humanity understands the ego. 'As far as we can see into the universe, that's how big it is. Not a light year more. We can't see it, it doesn't exist.' As Galileo looked into the heavens of our own inner galaxy. I can't imagine he thought there would be trillions upon trillions... of other galaxy's like and unlike our own. I'm sure Galileo didn't understand the principles/properties of light speed in relation to distance. What he observed, must have been like looking into a ball and that's where we all lived, within that ball of space and that was it! I believe humanity still thinks that way. 'The edge of the universe, is the farthest distance we're able to see. After that, nothing. Oh wait...' -Just an observation.
If the universe has billions of stars and galaxies then how would we even be found by extraterrestrial beings?
Billions of billions of stars at last, but that's not the problem. The problem are the distances.
